“Walking into Old Lightning feels like stepping into Pablo Moix’s private whiskey collection—rare, curated, and full of bottles you’ve only seen in photos. Hidden behind Scopa, the bar features an incredible lineup of high-end spirits: single cask Springbanks, rare Willetts, unique Balvenies, and other bottles you’ll probably never see again. Prices are high (sometimes maybe a bit too high), but you're paying for access to some truly special stuff.
What really makes this place stand out, though, is Oscar. He’s not just pouring drinks—he’s setting the tone for the whole experience. Super knowledgeable, but never pretentious. Inviting, energetic, and clearly passionate about what he does. He listens to what you like, asks the right questions, and then somehow nails exactly what you were in the mood for—whether that’s a rare pour or a killer cocktail you didn’t even know you wanted. His energy really brings the whole vibe together and makes it feel less like a fancy bar and more like a personal tasting experience.
If you're into whiskey or just curious to try something you won’t get anywhere else, it’s definitely worth visiting.”
“I enjoyed the food, decor, and service. If you want a quiet place to dine though, this isn't it..”
“As we walked in there was no hostess and all the bartenders saw us but turned the other way. We waited but it looked completely empty so we were a bit confused whether or not they were open. They could have said, "welcome, someone will be with you shortly".My friend had to walk up and ask if we find a spot or wait for someone. They said we need to wait for a hostess (not friendly at all). The hostess was nice and so was our waiter, THANKFULLY. I gave 4 stars for the lack of welcoming and because I felt like it was hard to pick something I thought would be good. Food was average, nothing too exciting from what we ordered.”

“Amazing breakfast and pastries right on the water in Marina Del Rey! Fabulous service too! Highly recommend!”
“Happy New Year Y’all!!🥂✨🤘🏼🥳 As many of you know I’ve been playing piano and singing at Casa Ado in Venice for the last 3.5 years, for a total of 700+ shows. There have been two paintings with me in them, a painted recording of this era of my life! It is unclear what will be happening with the restaurant going forward, as there may be some ownership change. Everyone is sort of holding their breath, and for now, music has not been included in January of 2020. There is talk it could go either way in Feb. 🤷🏻♂️ Thank you all who have come and supported me these past few years on Washington Square and I will keep everyone posted as to what settles out in the next bit of time. For now, I am looking at all the possibilities and have some cool projects lined up on the horizon. Add me as a friend, Stay in touch, and wishing you all the best decade yet! 🥂✨🥳🤘🏼 Love, Mike 🎹🎤❤️”

“I stopped by HiHo Cheeseburger in Marina del Rey around 3 p.m. on a Saturday, that magical hour when parking is neither impossible nor easy. The restaurant shares a gated lot with REI, which kindly validates two hours.
Inside, the vibe was steady but calm. I ordered the HiHo Double and fries, which arrived in a leisurely fifteen minutes, a dignified wait for 100% grass-fed, grass-finished Wagyu. The burger, though smaller than an In-N-Out Double-Double, was excellent: melty cheese, slow-cooked onions, and crisp lettuce. The fries were fine, but McDonald’s and the BK Lounge can rest easy.
At $10.45, HiHo is in a higher price category than In-N-Out and Shakeshack, but of comparable quality of taste. Worth a visit, but not at the top of my LA/OC burger rotation.
Still a solid 4 stars”

“So fun! Great tropical vibes. Stellar cocktails, food hit the spot. Killer burger. Came for football, a DJ played after the games... I stayed all night!”

“I went there for my first time today and my family and I loved it. My dads side of the family is from Chihuahua Mexico 🇲🇽 and it was great to enjoy such great food. The prices are so great. I highly recommend this place! I had the Machaca plate and my mom and grandma had the chili relleno enchiladas plate.”
“We are from denver and go to breweries new to us frequently. We tried 10 beer with the flights and loved all 10. That’s never happened before. Only complaint is that I wanted a rad sweatshirt you had but it was only in size s and 3X. Good thing you had 20+ other options in our size and we each got a way super cooler then average brewery tee shirt. You guys ate top notch. Hoping I can find the 805 here in denver. I know we have had the squeeze here prior to coming. We got to have two for squeezes on tap before we in Marina Del Ray”
“I’m visiting a new area and I took a chance and ordered from DoorDash. I ordered a half a rack of ribs and even though they came very odd looking there was an extremely healthy portion. (There were not a lot of rib bones, but a lot of the bottom portion of the spare ribs, but I did not mind because it was a generous serving) The barbecue sauce was outstanding and all of the side dishes were delicious. They were running a two for one on some of the sides so I got a ton of food.”

“Nice walk-up bar with great food at the pool deck area at the Ritz-Carlton, Marina Del Rey. The staff is very friendly and helpful; they have numerous servers walking the pool deck to take orders, deliver eats & drinks and make sure the guests stay well-fed and hydrated! They also have outdoor seating at the restaurant patio, some with a fire pit. During our few days staying at this property, they came around about once an hour with free samples of drinks and snacks to try, which was really nice.”
“took a day trip for lunch w/ a friend...
had a cucumber Mint Spritzer, calamari and
the ½ pound Bacon Cheddar Burger...
all of which were perfect!! more so was the
amazing personable and timely service of
"Nile"... she's the best!! (ask for her)”
“5 stars. Best hand rolled sushi. Great atmosphere and customer service. Beautiful view of the Marina.”

Takeout Restaurants
“I seriously couldn't choose what to get because everything looked awesome and healthy. Lots of vegan options, nutrient dense smoothies and grab and go items. Cashier was super nice and patient and made my drink quick. I love that they had grab and go energy bites in the fridge section as well.”
“Great spot tucked into a tiny strip center area. Plenty of seating, including sushi bar seating. My orders of maguro nigiri and yellowtail nigiri were very fresh. The spicier tuna roll was delicious as well. Complimented by attentive service and a laid back atmosphere, this made for a perfect spot. 👏”

✅ Verdict & Recommendations
Juice Crafters in Marina del Rey is a solid pick if you’re in the mood for a health-oriented smoothie / juice / bowl spot. Its strengths are in its menu variety, fresh ingredients, and convenience. However, expect some inconsistency in blending or portion size, especially with delivery.
If I were you, here are a few tips:
• Go in-person (not via delivery) if you want the best texture and presentation.
• Try a popular item (e.g. one of their signature bowls or cold-pressed juices) to test their consistency.
• Inspect the packaging on delivery (make sure it’s sealed) and send feedback if it’s not.
• Visit during non-peak hours to avoid rushed orders.”
“Penguin’s is the best frozen yogurt in world! Love their toppings also. My favorite was raspberries and snow caps. I miss living in up the street just so I could come have a treat. Thankful it’s still open can’t wait to bring my kids to come by and taste it.”
“Authentic, delicious and wonderful. A true Venice beach gem..! Highly recommend this place and will be back 100%! Thank you for the excellent service and stellar food. 🤙🏽”
“Amazing and consistent as always! Great casual omakasse style meal. They are the closest in terms of the quality we experience in Tokyo in terms of their fish and their warm rice seasoned to perfection in their Nigeria. Highly recommend the salmon nigiri there.”

“As crazy as our Birthday party was, in the bar, our server, Jose, was awesome. There were 2 or 3 other large gatherings at the Marriott hotel, where Singer is, adjacent to the lobby. However, we felt completely cared for. I ordered the classic burger...I am a burger aficionado... It was awesome! I could say that I am ashamed of all the parmesan fries I ate, but nope, not sorry. They were awesome, as well. I don't know if it's a good or bad reality that this place is only a couple miles from my home because...Oh who am I kidding? I would return to this place of great service, atmosphere, fun and food, no matter the distance. Great job Marriott hotel and Sinder restaurant. We will return...often!”
“The food is good when they have the right chef other times is like they just want to cook something fast and mess up the food like one example the kung pao chicken should be spicy but it wasn't this 3rd time that I went there also the spicy fish wasn't either and no flavor ,and I've tried those before and it was ”
“From out of town and wanted to stop somewhere and have a beer. So glad we picked this place! Joel and Kata the bartenders were fantastic. No waiting to get served. Beer was ice cold. Very welcoming to out of town guests. Highly recommend”

“Today was my first time stopping by Ike's but it most definitely will not be my last! Jake greeted me with the friendliest smile and answered every question I had as a new customer. Believe me I had a lot! He even gave me his favorite order after my probing. *The Menage a trois with french bread, lettuce, red onion, pickles and banana peppers. His genuineness and energy told me I could trust him, so I ordered and joked that I knew where he worked if he led me astray. I am happy to report that Jake told no lies. The sandwich was AMAZING!!!! I also got the Hollywood's SF cheesesteak for my husband. He also loved his choice. I ended up buying two combos. I look forward to returning. I hope Jake is working that day!!! :-)”
“Pinkberry drop in and it has been a bit since I have had Pinkberry. This was a rekindling moment. Pinkberry yogurt is made with real nonfat milk and yogurt with fresh fruit toppings that are hand-cut daily. Let's jump right into this review.
This location is in Marina Del Rey inside a bustling shopping center. A few shops and plenty of food options.
Things to know -
** Single swirl or side-by-swirls offered. **
1. Variety of flavor options, which but the OG Sweet/Tart & Pomegranate is always available. Different Seasons bring different flavors. Currently- Summer Melon Crush is available! During my visit we tried Blueberry Lavender and it was really good!!!
2. Variety of toppings offered.
3. Light and low calories if you don't add all the sweet toppings.
4. Reasonable prices.
5. They offer ice bags for yogurt you are taking to-go. I really like this because your yogurt stays cold on the way home.
6. Excellent customer service.
7. Dining in, go right ahead. A few tables and chairs inside. Cute decor. You want some vitamin D, dine outside, location has plenty of outdoor seating in the shopping center.
During peak hours this shopping center is full of folks and cars. Parking can be a challenge. Just something to note.
Pinkberry is light and refreshing - great treat all year long.”
“I wanna thank James and Evelyn for being the best !!! I love their customer service and great hospitality I just love it here !!! They both were the bomb hands up !!!!! This is the best location to stop by in Marina del Rey California !!! Best frappe ever Anna cold brew as well !!”
“Been quite a regular to the place given it’s distance to me, and even got it multiple times for meals for bigger groups. I always did pre order by the app especially bigger orders did take time here given they prepped it fresh.
I love how their gyros were always tasty and the portion was generous. I typically went for either chicken or beef, and added extra ‘treats’ of falafel. The meat was always fresh and tender and even the sides like hummus was pleasant.
I have been knowing they do have soft serve but haven’t had a chance to try it until last week when I was craving for froyo and remembered they did sell it and was super close to reach. I then discovered that they recently launched Dubai chocolate topping, which was melted chocolate coating, with pistachio spread and kataifi pastries along with pistachio crumbs. Having it for first time, I was surprised by how gigantic it was. Gladly the greek yogurt wasn’t overly milky so it felt lighter and I’d say the toppings were generously served. This particular one was priced higher than both the plain and the one topped with honey and baklava. It was pretty delighting but I would recommend sharing or you likely wouldn’t finish it in one sitting.”
“They have the best tater tots in the word. The perfect amount of crispy and not greasy at all. Just pure delicious. Parking is limited though so go early or do street parking.”
“Delicious, Persian food. Generous portions, great service and atmosphere.”
“My husband and I came here on Mother's Day today and got here early enough! Awesome food, Mauro and Todd are the best behind the bar! Have the chicken and French Toast or the Carrot cake pancakes. You will not be disappointed! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🥰🥰🥰”
“I celebrated my Birthday with my family today. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing!!”
