“Eric the manager today, Oct. 14, 2024, demonstrated exceptional customer service and friendliness. There was an issue with a female employee which I believe he privately and graciously addressed to my satisfaction. She assumed I was a homeless person in need of a bathroom. I use a walker. She refused to allow me to enter nor did she direct me to a place where I could enter. I never asked for a bathroom. She said I could go to Starbucks next door where there is a bathroom. She did not listen to me at all and was rude and inconsiderate.
Eric was also thorough with my orders and I appreciated it because I made several changes to suit my friends and my tastebuds. He went out of his way to make me feel valued as a customer. And lastly he escorted me to my car and made sure I knew how to enter the restaurant through the parking lot next time. Eric made my experience at Mendocino Farms very very pleasant. Thank you so much Eric.

“Delicious Philly Cheese Steak.“

“We have been huge fans of Ike’s from the original location in SF many many years ago. Turkey bacon avocado on Dutch crunch is a don’t miss. Always delicious and even though we’re in so cal now it brings back nostalgia of the Bay Area from 20 years ago. The staff at the marina location were kind, knowledgeable and attentive. Thanks for the hospitality.“

I cannot believe how amazing the subs are here. Also how huge they are. You can honestly get a regular size sub and split it with a friend and it will get the job done.

“I visited this place last time I visited my niece who live in LA. I tried their pizza. It was very good perfect. I also love Arabic fettuce salad and tried their coffee. Very friendly service.“

“I’ve been eating here through 3 ownerships since the 1970s. I really like the new menu, the outdoor eating area and the bar. The service isn’t 5 star but it’s good as it ever was and I’m fine with it. Unfortunately Ihad a very lousy customer service incident on the phone tonight after they botched my delivery order. I ordered grilled cheese sandwich and onion rings. Postmates delivered matzoball soup and rings. Johnny’s customer service lady (didn’t offer name) and the manager refused all responsibility for the wrong item they mispacked; she told me to take it up with Postmates. OK, but meanwhile can I get my sandwich that Johnny’s failed on? “Take it up with Postmates.” When I questioned that logic from a customer service perspective she said “you’re failing to understand!” and told me “don’t get an attitude with me!” I replied “an attitude with YOU?” and she hung up on me. Come on, Johnny’s, this whole thing started with your mistake. Accept responsibility and make it right. Don’t blame delivery. Just make it right.“

“Awesome sandwich from the LA Sandwich Bar! I had the Paris, which was delicious. The bread was light and crunchy and the signature sauce added a nice, ever so slight kick. They have great chip and drink selections too. Friendly service and good seating options for a small shop. I will definitely be back to try another sandwich, if I can resist getting the Paris again!“

“Got the OG burger, and a banh mi the day before. The OG is a fantastic In-N-Out inspired burger. Really nailed it. Highly recommend. The Korean BBQ banh mi is one of the better banh mis I’ve had in a long time. Nice staff too, casual atmosphere. Def will be coming back.“

“Delicious vegan sandwiches“

“Some seriously delicious but fairly small sandwiches. They have many locations all around Los Angeles this being the most Westward of the bunch. It’s located in a small strip mall with a lot of parking. However, the parking lot spaces are very tight so if everyone is not parking well it may be hard to find some spaces. If the parking lot is full it’s easy to find free parking in the neighborhood behind the shopping center. It’s more of a to go type of place although they do have tables inside to eat. The attendant behind the counter was very polite and all of our items were made quickly for a last-minute Saturday night dinner.

As mentioned the sandwiches here are quite small so don’t think of it like a submarine sandwich location or somewhere with giant belly busting sandwiches. It’s closer to the size of Porto’s sandwiches. We decided to try a few of their sandwiches. We ordered The Bentley, The Medianoche, and the Carving Club. The best of the bunch was the Bentley because the meat was truly tender and seasoned well and the sauce with it made it extra creamy and just a wonderful bite. The Medianoche was also pretty good, although not the most authentic Cuban sandwich. I wish it would’ve had a stronger mustard flavor, but still I really enjoyed it. The Carving Club was probably my least favorite of the three just because of its small size. The flavors were good, but it didn’t have the traditional club flavors in my opinion. We also ordered the tomato soup and fries as our sides and I was a big fan of the tomato soup, however, the goat cheese in it was extremely small, but the fries were not my favorite because they were a little too crisp and hard. I tend to like mine soft and salty.

Overall a solid sandwich place that has some great to go options. I would recommend anyone in the area searching for a great sandwich.

Give yourself a break.My friend and I were looking for a place to eat in Santa Monica and as soon as we saw Mendocino farms, we both said... Even though it's a chain the restaurant, it's a good one. And it is a good one. Prices are reasonable. I got the chicken caprese sandwich And they doused it with balsamic vinegar which made it so juicy. They are service dog friendly. I appreciate that. During lunch hours, they should have more cashiers, or more help in general. I felt the 15 minute line to place my order was a bit long for lunch hour, I went at 1:00 p.m., and then we waited another 15 minutes for our sandwiches to come out. It's probably better to place your order online, go in and pick it up, then sit down and eat it. It's probably more efficient. However, I like having the offline experience. I kind of like having the human interaction. But the staff was friendly. It was just slow.“
