Believe me I had a lot! He even gave me his favorite order after my probing. *The Menage a trois with french bread, lettuce, red onion, pickles and banana peppers. His genuineness and energy told me I could trust him, so I ordered and joked that I knew where he worked if he led me astray. I am happy to report that Jake told no lies. The sandwich was AMAZING!!!! I also got the Hollywood's SF cheesesteak for my husband. He also loved his choice. I ended up buying two combos. I look forward to returning. I hope Jake is working that day!!! :-)“

I cannot believe how amazing the subs are here. Also how huge they are. You can honestly get a regular size sub and split it with a friend and it will get the job done.

I ordered grilled cheese sandwich and onion rings. Postmates delivered matzoball soup and rings. Johnny’s customer service lady (didn’t offer name) and the manager refused all responsibility for the wrong item they mispacked; she told me to take it up with Postmates. OK, but meanwhile can I get my sandwich that Johnny’s failed on? “Take it up with Postmates.” When I questioned that logic from a customer service perspective she said “you’re failing to understand!” and told me “don’t get an attitude with me!” I replied “an attitude with YOU?” and she hung up on me. Come on, Johnny’s, this whole thing started with your mistake. Accept responsibility and make it right. Don’t blame delivery. Just make it right.“

“Awesome sandwich from the LA Sandwich Bar! I had the Paris, which was delicious. The bread was light and crunchy and the signature sauce added a nice, ever so slight kick. They have great chip and drink selections too. Friendly service and good seating options for a small shop. I will definitely be back to try another sandwich, if I can resist getting the Paris again!“

Thank you @Lokal.Venice & @YelpLA for introducing me to this neighborhood gem. Sarah, Julia and the Westside Yelp team knocked another one out of the ballpark - the second this week!

Vanessa at the counter was friendly and knowledgeable. She contrasted that this location was full service with drinks and a more extensive menu.

I opted for the vegetarian and she directed me to the tofu lemongrass banh mi. I was already coffee’d out after opening day of dayglow coffee in Venice earlier in the AM, so I opted for Thai iced tea. It comes with 2 non dairy options, almond and oat. Vanessa made the dealers choice of oat milk.

It took less than 10 minutes to get a fresh banh mi, as we sipped the Thai iced tea that was out in a minute.

Thai iced tea was sweet but not too sweet, and oat milk made it less heavy than dairy. It had a refreshing quality to it, and that distinct flavor of tea.

What makes a good banh mi great is the baguette. This one had a nice crunch, had just the right amount of vegan mayo to not make it soggy. You know it’s legit when you get oodles of cilantro, jalapeño and that distinct sweet spicy kick of carrots and other veggies. The tofu was lightly fried and soaked in all the flavor. It wasn’t too lemongrassy but in combination with the bread and pickled veggies, packed a punch. Overall some of the better banh mi I’ve had. It tasted fresh and was satisfying. I really appreciated their choice of hot sauce that did not have additives and other nasty fillers.

Overall a solid experience when craving the Vietnamese French sandwich, which I do often. I will be back to try their burger and some of Vanessa’s favorites on the menu: Cubano, Korean bbq banh mi and the vegan burger.

Tip: The restroom is clean but needs a key.

As a Seinfeld fan, I very much appreciate the Serenity Now sandwich name, but as a discerning sandwich lover, I appreciate the quality of ingredients and flavor even more! This is the perfect sandwich… textures & flavors all in harmony. I’m so tempted to try some of their other options, but this one is too good to pass up. I like the soup + bread brunch combination, but I was disappointed that there weren't many places that sold it, so I found this place and ordered it, and I was very satisfied.

“Some seriously delicious but fairly small sandwiches. They have many locations all around Los Angeles this being the most Westward of the bunch. It’s located in a small strip mall with a lot of parking. However, the parking lot spaces are very tight so if everyone is not parking well it may be hard to find some spaces. If the parking lot is full it’s easy to find free parking in the neighborhood behind the shopping center. It’s more of a to go type of place although they do have tables inside to eat. The attendant behind the counter was very polite and all of our items were made quickly for a last-minute Saturday night dinner.

As mentioned the sandwiches here are quite small so don’t think of it like a submarine sandwich location or somewhere with giant belly busting sandwiches. It’s closer to the size of Porto’s sandwiches. We decided to try a few of their sandwiches. We ordered The Bentley, The Medianoche, and the Carving Club. The best of the bunch was the Bentley because the meat was truly tender and seasoned well and the sauce with it made it extra creamy and just a wonderful bite. The Medianoche was also pretty good, although not the most authentic Cuban sandwich. I wish it would’ve had a stronger mustard flavor, but still I really enjoyed it. The Carving Club was probably my least favorite of the three just because of its small size. The flavors were good, but it didn’t have the traditional club flavors in my opinion. We also ordered the tomato soup and fries as our sides and I was a big fan of the tomato soup, however, the goat cheese in it was extremely small, but the fries were not my favorite because they were a little too crisp and hard. I tend to like mine soft and salty.

Overall a solid sandwich place that has some great to go options. I would recommend anyone in the area searching for a great sandwich.
