His genuineness and energy told me I could trust him, so I ordered and joked that I knew where he worked if he led me astray. I am happy to report that Jake told no lies. The sandwich was AMAZING!!!! Everything about the sandwiches here is absolutely perfect - from the perfectly crunchy dutch bread, to the generous toppings and ingredients in each sandwich that is both filling and yet also not overpowering in any way.

It's an unassuming exterior for the most part - but within, the seating is ample for anyone wishing to dine-in.

I've also experienced nothing but the BEST service and friendliness on all of my visits to this establishment.

They have both hot & cold sandos, although my personal favorite remains their main staple - 'The Melrose'!
Delectably delicious with plenty of creaminess, flavor, and texture. Nothing overpowers other ingredients.

The bread, sosis bandari, and seasonings were probably some of the best combinations I've ever had, and it might genuinely be the best sandwich I've had in LA. “Over the past year Lokal has been my absolutely favorite place in LA. If you’re a Venice/ Santa Monica or even marina del ray or Culver City local you have to start regularly coming here.

Not once have I had a bad dish or a bad guest experience. The staff is always incredibly friendly and accommodating, the food and bevvies are super consistent and have not had one miss on this menu.

Whether it’s an on the go AM coffee, a small lunch burger to refuel me or a cozy dinner sandwich to wrap up my day. This place has been the spot.

The prices are extremely reasonably ( if not the most reasonable in West LA) and again, can’t emphasize the overall consistency enough. Love ya lokal!!“

“I’m a pretty picky eater. I ordered the chicken parm sandwich and Spiced Curried Couscous. Both were extremely good. I didn’t even have to have anything removed or substituted! Spice level wasn’t too spicy perfect level! Not over powering. Price was very good for the amount of food you get! I got two things and a drink; didn’t even break 17 bucks. The blue cow print theme is adorable. There’s even a little cow you can pose with. I wish you would bring one to Reno now! I’m going to dream about the couscous for years to come.“

I remember when the merchandise first came out they were having issues with shipment and delivery times so I decided to hold off and wait.

I recently purchased two t-shirts, and was looking forward to the shirts when I received a noticed that that UPS was unable to deliver the package because I needed to pay the tariffs. Now, given everything that is going on I don’t fault SAH, I just wished there was some transparency about where the product is coming from. So then I go ahead and pay the $50 tariffs and I get a message that I’ll get a new delivery date. I’m like no big deal, I love the shirts, I want to support SAH. When I go and check the new delivery date it seems the items are being sent back to sender in Canada!

So I’m like, wth did I pay tariffs for if I was never going to get my package. I contact UPS and they inform me there’s nothing they can do and the only thing that can be done is to contact the sender, unfortunately they’re not easy to get ahold of and the emails keep bouncing back, there’s no phone number to contact and I keep waiting on someone to respond to the inquiry I submitted and nothing. All I want are the shirts *crying*! I know it’s a small business but whomever is in charge of shipment and orders needs to step it up and there should also be some transparency that the items are coming from Canada so in addition to shipment fees the customer also has to pay the tariffs 😑.

Anyways I’m hoping someone sees this message and is able to help with my order before it leaves the US and then I’ll have to pay the dang tariffs again which is ridiculous.

The food is amazing the shop is super cute, I honestly can’t wait to go back, it’s just unfortunate all I wanted to do was support and buy merch but it’s kind of a hassle.“

“I thought the pastrami and steak pizza sandwiches were great. The pastrami one was especially good and nicely coated in a garlic butter sauce.

The only issue I noticed was that the cooks did not consistently use gloves. A few times I observed them touching the pizza dough with their bare hands when taking it out of the oven, when they had to go orders, and when adding toppings. Please use gloves when handling food items, as this can help prevent foodborne illness. If you decide to eat here, just be aware of this.“
