The cesar salad was dressed to perfection served on a chilled plate w/shavings of Parmigiano Reggiano.. Delish! My short rib ravioli special was exactly what I was hoping for. Hand made in house pasta baked to perfection. My wife had the sacchettto vegi pasta pocket stuffed w/vegis . The red sauce had tremendous flavor... and perfect to mop up with the bread. 🤪... This place is a must try!”

“One of my top 10 restaurants. Love the interior decorating, and of course the food is incredible and creative. It's created and delivered with the upmost of care.
I like the concept of pay-what-you-want, we got the middle tier-ish and had a lot of really unique and fresh food. Dishes include uni from Hokkaido and Santa Barbara, triggerfish, scallops,band many others.
Almost everything about this restaurant was perfect. My only change would be the music, it was fun but didn't seem to match the mood. Not a deal breaker though.”

“Came here for Valentine's Day with my girlfriend, and we both had an incredible, romantic experience. The servers were delightful and offered their recommendations. We had the Valentine's Day Special that came with a 4-course meal for $125 – this included a tasty salad, two appetizers of your choice (we got oysters and samosas), two main entrees (we got duck curry and sea bass), and a chocolate mousse dessert. This was a great value and every dish was a 10/10; we even got a free rose and the recipe for their salad at the end of the meal. If this were any indicator of what Burmese food can be, the bar is set extremely high.”

For a lil store selling Boars Head sandwiches, this place is pretty solid. The tri tip sandwich smacks and for $16 it's priced just about right. Other sandwiches are priced lower depending on what you get
Whenever I go I always get everything in it like peppers, tomatoes, pickles, pepperchini, etc. Everything is pretty fresh
If you go here for lunch dont go at standard lunch times like 11-12 otherwise you might be waiting in line because it's a popular spot.

“Ive been coming here for a few years, I can't believe I haven't done a review yet. This cafe has some of the best food I've tasted, the burgers are a decent size and cooked with great care and same goes for the sandwiches. I've still not yet tried everything on the menu but plan to. Mardini the cook is an awesome character and always shows hospitality when you step in his cafe.”

“Definitely a hidden gem! Got salmon nigiri and Curry Katsu. The salmon slice was thick, we were pleasantly surprised by the amount and quality. Katsu had a nice subtle crisp to it even covered in curry. Beef yaki udon was really really good, Highly recommend and worth it. We will be back :)”

“Lovely lounge for an evening drink with your coworkers or family. The atmosphere is pleasant with gorgeous views of the mountains. If seated indoors, the library environment is warm and soothing. The food is delicious either lovely choice of cocktails, wine and beers. This is most favored place for business hangouts and casual meetings.”

“Stopped by The Mandarin Chinese while hoping for some great Chinese food in town. The location was convenient, and the space itself is quite nice, with the added bonus of upstairs seating. Service was smooth; we came on a Friday evening, got seated right away, and dishes arrived in a steady flow.
Unfortunately, the experience was a bit mixed. The sizzling rice soup was disappointing; it came out lukewarm and didn’t sizzle at all, with a watered-down broth. Definitely underwhelming.
That said, the rest of the meal was much better. We ordered Spicy Beef Tendon, Salt and Pepper Tofu, Garlic Snow Pea Leaves, Eggplant in Spicy Sauce, and Kung Pao Chicken. Every dish was flavorful, and the Szechuan-style seasoning really stood out. The beef tendon dish, in particular, looked and tasted great.
Overall, while not everything hit the mark (and prices felt a bit high), the main dishes were strong enough to make it a solid option for Szechuan cravings; just maybe skip the soup.”
“This place is a hidden gem! Almost every dish’s we ordered was absolutely delicious. My favorite was the beef tongue — it’s not even on the menu, but if you get the chance to try it, don’t miss out. It was tender with just the right amount of chewiness, and it paired perfectly with rice.
The staff here are excellent — very attentive and genuinely make sure you're well taken care of. Their service really adds to the overall dining experience.
The only downside is the parking. The lot is pretty small, so it can be a bit of a hassle during busy times. But honestly, the food and service more than make up for it. Highly recommend!”
“We had a great experience at Yeobo, Darling. As first timers, we appreciated the suggestions that Linda provided. She explained the menu items well and provided great service! They had a grilled *Duck Breast special that we had to try & it was delicious and well-prepared. The duck jus and carrot gochujang served with it was so flavorful. (I'd recommend ordering the rice or the ssam greens to complement if you order this or the kalbi.) We also ordered the *YD Kalbi, which was perfect, as well. Like others have mentioned, the price point for this dish is a bit high at $76, but we enjoyed the dish and finished it. Other dishes we tried: *Anchovy Rice, which went well with the proteins. It wasn't overly salty and the crunchy texture at the bottom of the serving dish was wonderful. *Scallion Croissant - the crunch, the flavors, the butter with pork-floss - definitely a must order for the table if you love bread service. *Amberjack - Appreciated that this dish was light and refreshing, especially since we had duck and kalbi coming. *Milk Soft Cream with Misugaru Donut - I'm a sucker for fancy soft serve and this did not disappoint! The brittle was my favorite part of this & I'd definitely order this again. My husband tried the *Natural Oasis soju tea cocktail, which was light and refreshing. The restaurant is beautiful inside, though the space can seem a bit cramped. We were seated in a roomy area, so it wasn't an issue for us. I also appreciated the custom? tables. Each table appears to have a pull out drawer with extra utensils if you need them! I thought that was a nice touch. Overall had a great experience and looking forward to trying more of their menu. Spent about $345 for 2 people pre-tip, so take from that as you will.”
“Consistently excellent pizza with great variety in the salad bar. Excellent for their weekday lunch specials. A little pricier than the average pizza chain but quality is far, far better and definitely worth it. Staff is also super friendly and I’ve always had great customer service at this location.

“Dosa Point has recently renovated their space, its beautiful (check out the wall paper)! When you eat their food you can tell that they cook with very fragrant spices. Their dishes are always delicious, elegant and consistent. I’ve tried many Indian restaurants, this one has the best flavor! Will go back again and again!”
“We recently hosted an event at British Bankers Club with about 70 guests, and it was absolutely perfect! Initially, we were worried the space might feel too small, but it turned out to be just right. Everyone complimented the venue and how well everything came together.
We even had a photo booth set up using a local vendor, Creative Impressions Photo Booth—I highly recommend them as well! The staff at British Bankers Club truly made the night special. Our servers, Sofia and Jose, were so friendly and kept everyone happy with delicious hors d’oeuvres. Min, the bartender, served top-notch, flavorful drinks, and Sam was the ultimate jack-of-all-trades, helping wherever needed. They all worked with a smile and ensured every guest had what they needed.
A huge thank you to Nina, the event coordinator, and her assistant—they were extremely helpful and responsive throughout the planning process. Their support made everything so much easier.
I’ll admit, I was nervous leading up to the event since I had never planned a party before. But the moment I walked in, I was relieved—the venue looked beautiful! I had toured it when the restaurant was closed, so I didn’t know how it would look at night. The lit-up decorations added a wonderful touch to the room’s presentation. We added a few extras like flowers, balloons, and candles, but honestly, the space is stunning on its own.

“Teleported. Now I’m in Mexico. She’s making a tortilla for me live. They are hot. They are fresh. That’s the kind of service that leapfrogs the tier and dollar sign that this place is. Ordered a carnitas burrito and a carnitas super plate. Both were amazing. Fed two adults and three kids. There is so much meat. I highly recommend this place as the best taco in the Menlo Park Palo Alto area.”
“We were looking for a new place to try and Octopus had some great reviews/ pictures of their sushi rolls. After looking over the menu we decided to head on down. Friendly staff got us seated right away and we started with a round of appetizers. Gyoza, chicken karaage and a Toro Nigiri special started off the night and everything was delicious. Ordered 4 rolls and a bento box combo and everyone was extremely satisfied with the food. Can't wait to return and explore more of the menu”
“I recently visited Counterpoint with friends for brunch and had a fantastic time. We enjoyed the **Garden Omelette** with fresh veggies and Monterey Jack cheese, the flavorful **Veggie Breakfast Burrito** with feta and pico de gallo, and a refreshing **Seasonal Yogurt Parfait**. The **Breakfast Sandwich** with ham, avocado, and aged cheddar on a toasted croissant was a highlight. The friendly and helpful staff made our visit even better. We had a great experience and can’t wait to return!”
“Delicious food for this type of restaurant and lots of chicken, beef, pork, and vegetable options. There are also multiple noodle and rice options. There is a lot of turnover so the food is usually fresh and hot when I’ve been there. The staff is always friendly and some are multilingual. There are several tables so you can sit there and eat. The parking lot isn’t huge, but you can park across the street. Also, great value as well. The portions are so large we usually eat it as 2 meals, that is if we can stop ourselves. Haha”
“She is now located in front of Tere’s Boutique near the Chavez Supermarket by Middlefield Road.I love her raspados so much! I used to get them after church growing up. Her recipes are delicious and traditional. My favorite one is the raspado de Guanábana (soursop). It’s perfectly sweet and the pieces of fruit are delicious. I have also tried and liked her limon, rompope, vainilla, coco, nuez, mango con chile and chicle flavors.I recommend also trying their tostilocos with everything plus extra hot sauce. They are super delicious and a very generous size. Her fruit cups are also really good. The fruit is always perfectly ripe and fresh.Definitely recommend when you’re in Redwood City. All her antojitos are delicious, fresh and never overpriced. Great value, taste and quality.”
“Tried Guapas Mexican Grill recently and really enjoyed it. It’s a casual spot with solid food that delivers. We ordered two Taco Trios to sample all of their meat options, and the asada and carnitas were easily the standouts—flavorful and well cooked. We also had the impossible meat burrito, which was absolutely delicious and a great option even if you’re not vegetarian. Their habanero salsa was delicious but definitely spicy.
Service was average, but the food made up for it. Prices felt fair for the quality, and overall it was definitely worth it. We’ll be returning and would recommend giving it a try if you’re in the area.”

“Had a great experience at Philz Coffee in Menlo Park. I ordered the turkey sausage breakfast sandwich, a chicken and rice burrito, a Mint Mojito, and an Arabic coffee — and everything was honestly delicious. The breakfast sandwich was warm and satisfying, the burrito was surprisingly filling and well-seasoned, and both drinks were spot on. The Mint Mojito was refreshing as always, and the Arabic coffee had a bold, smooth flavor. On top of that, the workers were super friendly and welcoming — you can tell they really care about customer service. Definitely a place I’d come back to.”
“I have to say, they have one of the best Authentic Pupusas I’ve ever tasted in my entire life. I am very picky with my food and I got to say man, they make one of the best if not the best pupusas in the entire Bay Area. They also offer quite the variety of food! “I had such a lovely experience here! I stopped by last week while doing laundry next door, honestly in a pretty bad mood. Kelly (I think she’s the owner?) greeted me with such kindness and even offered me a complimentary Oreo smoothie — it completely turned my day around!

“Mountain Mike’s – Menlo Park’s Certified Slice of Nostalgia
Welcome back to another episode of Local Eats For People Who Know Better, and today’s star is none other than Mountain Mike’s in Menlo Park. A Bay Area staple. The kind of spot that doesn’t need to reinvent itself every three years. No sourdough crust, no “Neapolitan-style artisan fire-kissed flatbread.” Just heat, cheese, carbs, and memories from a simpler, pre-smartphone era.
Before you even walk inside, the aroma creeping across that Main Street intersection hits you with the force of a Chuck E. Cheese pizza siren. A primal call. A scent that grabs your childhood by the collar and drags it out of hiding. By the time you pull the door open, you’re already halfway transported to 1998, seatbelt optional.
Inside, nothing tries to impress you—and that’s exactly why it slaps. No animatronic rodents. No LED menus. No QR-code ordering labyrinth with a “20 percent tip for literally handing you a cup” prompt. This place is a preserved time capsule: warm, chaotic, stubborn, and beautifully unfancy.
We pulled up on a Thursday and ordered a large cheese pizza with jalapeños to split like joint custody. Bless the pizza gods, because it just so happened to be half-off large pizza night. Destiny. Fate. Providence. Whatever it was, we didn’t question it.
We wandered into the arcade corner to kill some time, and the lineup is exactly what you’d expect from a place running on pure tradition. A graveyard of mostly fighting games, modded cabinets held together by prayer, controllers drifting harder than a 1994 Civic on bald tires. Street Fighter Turbo, MK1/Trilogy, NFL Blitz, Golden Tee, X-Men 4-player, Deer Hunt. Free play, baby. Calibrate your expectations… because the joysticks definitely aren’t calibrated.
Slightly charred bottom, yeast-forward crust, cheese melted into a perfect golden blanket, jalapeños sprinkled with the kind of confidence only a seasoned pizza vet possesses. Whoever was working back-of-house that Thursday deserves a medal. The pizza did what pizza is supposed to do: slap.
The front-of-house team held it down too. Two cashiers greeting customers with actual warmth instead of that dead-behind-the-eyes “I hate my job and everyone in this building” retail energy we’ve all survived. Hospitality wasn’t forced. Smiles weren’t fake. Management clearly runs a disciplined ship, and everyone—from the register to the oven—pulled their weight.
Overall? I’d take a fresh, steamy slice from Mike’s over Round Table next door any day of the week. Between the nostalgia, the customer service, the arcade lineup held together with duct tape, and the old-school Menlo Park charm, this spot still honors tradition in all the right ways.
There’s nothing more American than inhaling a cheese or pepperoni slice while chugging a Mountain Dew, wondering where your life went wrong and also feeling comforted at the same time.
It is your constitutional right to bear pizza.
And Mountain Mike’s Menlo Park is still out here defending that right with pride.”
“I go here all the time- since I go to the middle school down the road it’s very convenient. I ALWAYS get this drink- Strawberry lemonade, normal sweetness, no/less ice, 2x lychee jelly, 1x mango jelly. It’s always so good every time! The tofu cubes are not good but I don’t like tofu in general so that’s just me. It doesn’t take too long- but really depends on how busy it is. The staff is nice but doesn’t talk much. The atmosphere is nice too! I love the vibes of this place. I don’t get tapioca boba but the lychee and mango jelly is so good, especially if you love jello or stuff like that. It’s chewy but not too chewy, and very sweet. I recommend if you like fruity/sweet drinks.”
“This place is pretty tasty. They are under construction, but have big tables out front. The plates are an ok deal, like the asada plate for 14 bucks, or a torta for 8 bucks. But the prices are really high for a modest joint! With small tacos at 3 bucks each, lunch with a drink is about 20 bucks! Maybe I am getting old but 20 bucks should buy you more than a plate of 4 tacos. Did I mention they were tasty? Very tasty!”

The restaurant is beautiful inside, though the space can seem a bit cramped. We were seated in a roomy area, so it wasn't an issue for us. I also appreciated the custom? tables. Each table appears to have a pull out drawer with extra utensils if you need them! I thought that was a nice touch. Overall had a great experience and looking forward to trying more of their menu. Spent about $345 for 2 people pre-tip, so take from that as you will.”

“We recently hosted an event at British Bankers Club with about 70 guests, and it was absolutely perfect! Initially, we were worried the space might feel too small, but it turned out to be just right. Everyone complimented the venue and how well everything came together.
We even had a photo booth set up using a local vendor, Creative Impressions Photo Booth—I highly recommend them as well! The staff at British Bankers Club truly made the night special. Our servers, Sofia and Jose, were so friendly and kept everyone happy with delicious hors d’oeuvres. Min, the bartender, served top-notch, flavorful drinks, and Sam was the ultimate jack-of-all-trades, helping wherever needed. They all worked with a smile and ensured every guest had what they needed.
A huge thank you to Nina, the event coordinator, and her assistant—they were extremely helpful and responsive throughout the planning process. Their support made everything so much easier.
I’ll admit, I was nervous leading up to the event since I had never planned a party before. But the moment I walked in, I was relieved—the venue looked beautiful! I had toured it when the restaurant was closed, so I didn’t know how it would look at night. The lit-up decorations added a wonderful touch to the room’s presentation. We added a few extras like flowers, balloons, and candles, but honestly, the space is stunning on its own.

“Dosa Point has recently renovated their space, its beautiful (check out the wall paper)! When you eat their food you can tell that they cook with very fragrant spices. Their dishes are always delicious, elegant and consistent. I’ve tried many Indian restaurants, this one has the best flavor! Will go back again and again!”
“Food was amazing and I’m particular about my breakfast. Country fried steak and eggs with biscuits and gravy. Hash browns and side of toast (extra). Wife had pancakes. Want pleasantly surprised at how fresh the food was. Waiters was a delight. Atmosphere was nice. Temp was a LITTLE chilly inside.”

This cafe has some of the best food I've tasted, the burgers are a decent size and cooked with great care and same goes for the sandwiches. I've still not yet tried everything on the menu but plan to. Mardini the cook is an awesome character and always shows hospitality when you step in his cafe.”
“One of my top 10 restaurants. Love the interior decorating, and of course the food is incredible and creative. It's created and delivered with the upmost of care.
I like the concept of pay-what-you-want, we got the middle tier-ish and had a lot of really unique and fresh food. Dishes include uni from Hokkaido and Santa Barbara, triggerfish, scallops,band many others.
Almost everything about this restaurant was perfect. My only change would be the music, it was fun but didn't seem to match the mood. Not a deal breaker though.”
