“Stopped by The Mandarin Chinese while hoping for some great Chinese food in town. The location was convenient, and the space itself is quite nice, with the added bonus of upstairs seating. Service was smooth; we came on a Friday evening, got seated right away, and dishes arrived in a steady flow.

Unfortunately, the experience was a bit mixed. The sizzling rice soup was disappointing; it came out lukewarm and didn’t sizzle at all, with a watered-down broth. Definitely underwhelming.

That said, the rest of the meal was much better. We ordered Spicy Beef Tendon, Salt and Pepper Tofu, Garlic Snow Pea Leaves, Eggplant in Spicy Sauce, and Kung Pao Chicken. Every dish was flavorful, and the Szechuan-style seasoning really stood out. The beef tendon dish, in particular, looked and tasted great.

Overall, while not everything hit the mark (and prices felt a bit high), the main dishes were strong enough to make it a solid option for Szechuan cravings; just maybe skip the soup.“

“Never had Uyghur cuisine before, and I'm sorry I waited this long. Absolutely delicious. Ordered the samsas appetizer (one chicken, one beef). Flaky, buttery pastry goodness wrapped around well seasoned meats.
For my entree I went with the lagham noodles and they did not disappoint. The noodles were so good, I would eat a bowl of them alone. Great flavorful dish. Definitely will come back here every time I'm in town on business.“

“We had a great experience at Yeobo, Darling. As first timers, we appreciated the suggestions that Linda provided. She explained the menu items well and provided great service! They had a grilled *Duck Breast special that we had to try & it was delicious and well-prepared. The duck jus and carrot gochujang served with it was so flavorful. (I'd recommend ordering the rice or the ssam greens to complement if you order this or the kalbi.) We also ordered the *YD Kalbi, which was perfect, as well. Like others have mentioned, the price point for this dish is a bit high at $76, but we enjoyed the dish and finished it. Other dishes we tried: *Anchovy Rice, which went well with the proteins. It wasn't overly salty and the crunchy texture at the bottom of the serving dish was wonderful. *Scallion Croissant - the crunch, the flavors, the butter with pork-floss - definitely a must order for the table if you love bread service. *Amberjack - Appreciated that this dish was light and refreshing, especially since we had duck and kalbi coming. *Milk Soft Cream with Misugaru Donut - I'm a sucker for fancy soft serve and this did not disappoint! The brittle was my favorite part of this & I'd definitely order this again. My husband tried the *Natural Oasis soju tea cocktail, which was light and refreshing. The restaurant is beautiful inside, though the space can seem a bit cramped. We were seated in a roomy area, so it wasn't an issue for us. I also appreciated the custom? tables. Each table appears to have a pull out drawer with extra utensils if you need them! I thought that was a nice touch. Overall had a great experience and looking forward to trying more of their menu. Spent about $345 for 2 people pre-tip, so take from that as you will.“

“This is an interesting place, primarily known for their omakase (I think), but we came for the tsukemen. The tsukemen was tasty and presented with a dipping sauce warmer set up. I gotta say the egg was perfectly cooked, but I don't know if we really needed the bamboo shoots and mushrooms given the dipping setup.

The ambience is good and there is a unique water and condiment setup that makes it standout, although it also crowds the table a bit. Nevertheless, it's unique and adds to the charm of the place.

Service was great and we chatted a lot with the lady who was covering our table. She gave us a lot of background on the work they did to get the current menu in place and tweaks they are planning going forward.

Overall, this place was a refreshing change of pace. Tsukemen is not that common, the ambience is different, and the service was super engaging. I will definitely go back to check on the evolving menu. Highly recommended.“

“This is the best pan-fried soup dumpling I’ve had in the Bay Area. The xiao long bao have thicker skins, and while I personally prefer the thinner ones from Din Tai Fung, these still have plenty of soup and aren’t bad. The dumplings, mushroom pork buns, chicken pan-fried dumplings, and spicy beef hotpot were all solid and tasty, though not particularly outstanding. The scallion bun is packed with scallions, making it a must-try for scallion lovers. Overall, the food was delicious, and I’ll definitely visit again.“

“This is the best Nepali food in the silicon valley. The food is 100% authentic and fresh. They had the best thali I've had in a long time. The Thali comes on a brass dish just like in Nepal.

The tea and kheer are very flavorful.

The service is impeccable and welcoming. The staff will chat with you if you wish and are so happy to share Nepali culture.

“Momos are delicious. 10/10. You cannot go wrong with any vegetarian momos. Be it steamed, baked in a tandoor, or saucy (Jhol).

Breads are well-made to perfection. Curry was good, nothing spectacular. I look forward to trying other curries.

The dine in experience was excruciating. We were offered the pappadam immediately after we were seated. We waited 30 minutes for the momos (appetizer) to arrive and another 40 minutes after we finished momos for the main course (1 curry & 2 naan).

While we patiently waited 60+ minutes in total for our food, there were plenty of to go orders slinging out of kitchen every 2-3 minutes. I suspect this restaurant prefers takeout (they also offer discounts for takeout if I remember correctly).“

“Earlier this week on Sunday, I was craving some Korean fried Chicken, which I never had before. I did a search on Google and came across Bonchon in San Mateo. The first experience I had, I was not happy with my order because it was not accurate. I ordered an 8 piece, but only received a 4 piece and because it’s through a 3rd party nothing could be done. I decided on Monday I would order this time directly from the restaurant. Everything worked out, and I have to tell you even though my order was not right the first time? This did not take away from the quality of the food. I ordered the drumsticks extra crunch? No sauce, and the first time I ordered with fried rice, both were excellent. The seasoning, it was rich with flavor, and I have absolutely no complaints. The second time on Monday I ordered the same chicken a 4 piece, the corn with the mayonnaise, cheese and red pepper flakes, with a side of steamed rice. Everything was just perfect. I’m not kidding you it’s taking everything in me to control myself from ordering more today, and it’s just Tuesday. It’s just that good! Whoever the chefs are, you can taste the love in their cooking, it’s not just thrown together. There is Love in their food, and know this because my Mom’s food is just the same. Every bite is good. I don’t say these things lightly when it comes to restaurants. There’s not too many that impress me like this. All I can say is keep the love in your food, and don’t change the quality even if you have a million customers, don’t change your food. 5/5 for me, it’s a must try if you love fried chicken or Korean food. I don’t have pictures this time, maybe next time if I can upload I will. The chicken is so crunchy that even when it’s cold it’s still good and crunchy and not soggy. The owner, Branden, was extremely generous and kind and made a special delivery to our event, after closing hours. Each tray was generously filled, and we had an abundance of food. We ordered three dishes: Chongqing Spicy Chicken, Flavor Kitchen Cage Frog, and Dry-Baked Green Beans. Both the spicy chicken and the cage frog were quite good. The green beans were just okay; they were a bit stringy, and I’ve definitely had more tender versions elsewhere.

Be prepared to wait a bit for your food. It took about 15–20 minutes for our first dishes to arrive. This might actually be a good sign, since many Chinese restaurants rely heavily on pre-prepped ingredients—here it seems they cook more from scratch, which takes longer but tastes fresher.

Overall, we had a positive experience and will be adding this restaurant to our list for future visits.“

My friend loves this place, and over time, it’s become a little tradition: a quick dinner here before I send her off to SFO. I’m not exactly what you’d call a vegetarian (far from it!), but hey—this is a poke spot, and fish definitely isn’t a vegetable. Still, I always follow my friend’s lead and pick kale as the base.
