“Came to check out this new restaurant for my husband's birthday dinner. Being the sister restaurant of well known Ettan & Copra, we were indeed very excited for our meal here. Of course, we were also excited to check out what they have brought in terms of decor to this new establishment, as the decor at their other 2 restaurants is quite exceptional. This one didn't disappoint us. My only complaint though was the lighting was way too low.
We got the bellweather farm ricotta, celeriac & pineapple kebab, chicken yakhni pulao and the Indian milk cake ice cream. The ricotta dish was decent. Pineapple kebab was outstanding with the tandoor char and the sauce it came in. The chicken in the yakhni pulao was cooked very soft and tender. But, I don't know if $32 justifies that quantity. They gave the condiments for only half of a small vessel. When we ran out of raita, we asked for some more and they said there will be an extra charge for it, which I felt isn't the right thing for them to do. The milk cake ice cream was wonderful, definitely try it.
Our server Daisy gave exceptional service. They also gave a small mango sorbet with a candle knowing that it's my husband's birthday. Overall it was a good experience, would love to come back again for another occasion to try other dishes on the menu.“

“Overall really flavorful full, some of the richest butter chicken I’ve had. However they were kinda slow to make my order took around 20-25 minutes when dining in. But it was definitely worth it, they give you nearly a pint of butter chicken and you can order a pretty large side of rice but I recommend you get the rice and naan to clean up all the sauce. Overall pretty good I just think they could be a bit faster.“

“I am a Nepali. I know what am talking about. Hands down one of the best Nepali chowmein and momo we have had in the States!
They were quiet so we got seated immediately. The place feels like some fast-food joint with advertisements plastered all over the wall. The vibe surely takes you back home to Nepal.
We dined here for an early dinner. For a party of 5, we had 2 plates of chicken steamed Momo, 1 plate of Titanic (Jhol) chicken momo, chicken lollipops, 2 chicken chowmein, and goat curry with nan and rice! We had 3 rounds of complementary chai. (trust me we kept asking for it. The chai was that good!)
The momo was so fresh, piping hot with 2 styles of Nepali chutney, the chowmein came fresh with enough veggies and chicken, and the lollipop was crunchy! We were so full that we asked them to put the curry/rice/naan in to go box!
It hits you home when you find a Nepali restaurant that does not compromise on quality. The manager and the team took good care of us!
Pls pls give this business a try! Trust me they won't disappoint you.“

“Pav Bhaji & More is a good food truck overall.
Pav Bhaji: The Pav Bhaji is absolutely outstanding—rich, flavorful, and packed with authentic spices that hit all the right notes. It’s easily one of the best I’ve had and an absolute delight for anyone craving real street-style flavors.
Portion Size and Value: The portion size is shockingly small, especially given the pricing. It’s hard to overlook how inadequate the quantity is, which really impacts the overall value for money.
Service: The service is average. While the staff are polite, there’s room for improvement in terms of efficiency and attentiveness.
Ambience: For a food truck, the ambience is impressive. The seating area is clean, well-maintained, and provides a comfortable spot to enjoy your meal outdoors.
Overall, the Pav Bhaji is exceptional, but the portion size leaves much to be desired.
Vegetarian options: Tasty vegetarian food and options“

Fresh, quality ingredients that do not fail to impress. The compostable cutlery and plates is a huge deal to me. The owner's attention to detail reflects in everything making it a wholesome experience, ALWAYS! This is a review after my 6th or 7th visit and the consistency of service is impressive. You've earned a fan, Idly express!“

“Saffron is an Indian restaurant in San Carlos with a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere, and dishes that truly stand out for their flavor. I arrived shortly after they opened and was greeted by a server who, while polite, offered service that felt somewhat limited and lacked warmth. He handed me the menu and walked away, so I had to call him over to place my order—a detail that could definitely be improved.
I started with the cauliflower, perfectly cooked and paired with a well-executed sauce. The samosas, drizzled with yogurt sauce and a touch of tangy tamarind, were a true hit. Next, I had the classic chicken masala, served with an exquisite garlic naan. The food was excellent: authentic and well-balanced flavors that did not disappoint.
However, the service remained detached, with no drink recommendations or attentive follow-up at the table. The chai was delicious, and the dessert—a cheesecake in a cup—was good but not impressive enough to end the meal memorably. The server was quick to bring the check, but I would have appreciated more attention to detail.
Overall, the dishes are excellent and stand out for their quality. However, the service and dessert could be improved to make the experience perfect. I would give it 5 stars, hoping they refine those aspects to make this place one of my favorites for this type of cuisine.“

“The best puris in the Bay Area. This place has hands down the best puris to use for pani puri and are difference between average and great pani puri. They also have a small variety of other equally delicious fried snacks. The puris sell out pretty fast so make sure you get there early.
They only accept cash/Venmo(extra 5%).“

“Chaat House has the cutest homely interior with old school TVs playing old Bollywood movies. You have a view of the cooks working hard in the kitchen and there is a very casual vibe. The cashiers and workers are really kind m, but they do not go above and beyond in any way. I usually get takeout of the rotis and a mango lassi. The prices for the rotis are quite cheap which I appreciate. $6.50 for 10 rotis. Talk about a deal! The rotis are soft and authentic, and this is quite visible when you first look at the roti. The rotis are of decent size and they remain fresh in their aluminum foil. For a delicious dessert I usually get a mango lassi as well. The mango lassi is a bit more expensive at $4 per drink. The mango lassi comes cold and tastes tart and fresh! OVERALL, the food for the price is very fresh and tasty, so I definitely recommend this joint to others as a causal place to dine. I will definitely be coming again when I get cravings for some refreshing mango lassi and soft roti!

“My family loves the food at this restaurant and we decided to order via doordash only to be very disappointed when our order arrived without any rice. Rice comes free with their meals at the restaurant and when I called them, the person said that they dont include the rice and charge $2.99 for it as an extra option on doordash because of the doordash fee.
As a frequent customer, I am extremely disappointed by this since I'm used to rice being included. When I suggested that they add that information in their doordash menu so that it is clear, she was less than empathetic.
So keep this in mind if you decide to use doordash.“

“One of the best places in the Bay Area for authentic Indian cuisine. While other spots claim to offer genuine Indian flavors, if you're truly craving spicy Indian food, you should give this place a try.
Also they have started a thali which is a must try and cherry on top it is also served in jain
So if you follow jainism their jain food is out of this world especially their balti paneer
Never had such a sabzi before“

“I was never a fan of Lamb Gosht curry until I tried it at this restaurant. The gravy here is noticeably thicker, with a subtle hint of tomato flavor that set it apart from others I’ve had. In a well-prepared curry like this, the meat almost melts into the sauce, blending seamlessly—a result of slow cooking over hours, and it’s clear the restaurant has put in the effort to achieve that perfection.“

“This place is amazing! The food was fantastic, reminding me of authentic desi food!! It took them a little bit to bring our naan, but at the end even though it was super busy. One of the guys came apologizing for the delay and also brought us 5 masala chai and lassi on house, If I wasn’t visiting San Francisco, I would 100% come back!“

“Food was better than expected, with quite excellent curry. Thankfully I had naan and bread to avoid licking the plate ;)
We ordered the food spicy, it came what I'd call medium heat. My wife thought it was perfect heat.
"Malabari" Prawns in sourdough 5/5
When it first arrived it reminded my of a clam chowder bowl. But it's even better! Had a smoky coconut taste I couldn't get enough of.
Tellicherry Pepper chicken 5/5
First time having it. Good portion of chicken. Reminded me of butter chicken. Definitely recommend.
Basmati rice - enough portion for 2
Plain naan - was crispy
Service was great. They filled my wife's water like 5 times. It was never empty.
Ambiance is nice. Mellow music. Nice lighting. We sat right next to the window“

“I ordered the punjabi prawn curry ( mild). It' so tasty. The store removes all the black suff from the backs of the prawn, otherwise it would take me a long time to remove it and my hands would get dirty. The chair is very comfortable. “After eating biryani at various places across the Bay Area over the last 7 years I can confidently say that this is the most authentic Hyderabadi biryani you can get around here. The meat is so tender, and the flavors are perfect and very close to Sarvi or Bawarchi biryani from Hyderabad. Really hope they do well and stay in business for ever.“

“I have been to this restaurant many times. The quality of food. Taste of curries is awesome. Biryanis and desserts are also delicious .
Service and atmosphere everything is good and especially the taste of veg curries is top notch. It would be good if they boil the white rice little more . Because Curries tastes like mothers recipes so we can have little more with 100% satisfaction l.

“Epic food. 100% recommend! Ordered the vijayawada paneer biryani, chicken biryani, and the chicken 65. We love it hot so ordered “spicy” and they delivered! The masala in the biryani is soooo effing good and trust me I’m a huge food critic! More so, when it comes to Indian food. The rice grains were cooked only as much as they should be, and were super flavorful. Please give this a try and I can bet you won’t be disappointed. If you’re South Indian and craving biryani, you gotta get takeout from here. Note that you cannot dine in because it’s a cloud kitchen with minimal (or no) human interaction. I’m from New York and would love to have a branch opened there! Management please look into this!
Vegetarian options: Lots to choose from. Excellent biryanis.“

“This was my second visit to Hyderabad Dim Biriyani and to my surprise the food was so much better and well prepared. Our mutton curry was little undercooked but once we mentioned about it the owner right away took care of us. I wish if they can make their naan for $4.—-little bigger. Also they should give some extra napkins to the customers so that they don’t have to ask for every little thing. I will recommend you to go and enjoy the food. It’s always good to complaint to the owner/manager so that they can take care of you and rectify if there is something wrong. #papihanandy“
