“The best and only one Thai style BBQ place in SF. Feel like you are eating in Thailand, only the meat here is better quality and well marinated. Service is friendly and very helpful.“

“As a fried rice lover, I’ve had some of the best fried rice around the world — and Sriracha Thai Cuisine easily makes my top three. The flavors are super well balanced, and the basil leaves leave such a fresh, delicious taste at the end.
Highly recommend it!“

“Lovely dinner at Prik Hom. Scallop & lemongrass appetizer & dessert (coconut pancakes & coconut ice cream) were by far my favorites. Mushroom curry soup was light and subtle. Seafood curry was rich & tasty, but did not love the texture of the stir fried shrimp. They were out of a few things like white rice and coconut water. Quiet atmosphere conducive to casual catchup with friends. Like another reviewer said, def worth trying at least once!“

“We came as a group and ordered a bunch of different dishes. I got the yellow curry chicken and it was seriously bomb. The curry was rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced with the right balance of sweetness and warmth. The chicken was super tender and soaked up all that flavor.“

“The place is very quaint but clean. It gets crowded during lunch so book ahead. I brought my friend here and she loves the food.
We both got seafood lunch set. Ingredients are clean, not greasy not oily. It feels healthy. Everything is well seasoned and not too salty. I have sensitive stomach and this feels very light. But still very filling.
For the amount of food at $40 I’ll come back“

“Cozy space.
Ordered the regular beef set 28.95.
Each dish was fine alone.
Lovely to mix up.
Eggplant and beef soup is great.
Maybe don't bring out cold dessert at the same time as hot food. Are you rushing us to finish early before it warms up and leave :')“

“We stopped by after a long day of exploring San Francisco and we were ready for a delicious hot meal. I ordered the pad se ew (which has all but become my standard Thai dish when I try a new place). The chicken was tender but the broccoli was a bit tough — I think Chinese broccoli would’ve probably been a more suitable variant. The sweet and savory sauce was pretty typical for pad se ew! The portion size made for a nice leftover meal and the pricing was more than reasonable.“

“They were very creative with their menu. Our favorite was the fried shrimp rings. They were perfectly crispy on the outside and bouncy on the inside. Although there was a minor error in our order, they promptly rectified it for us. We truly appreciate their attention to detail and customer service!“

“My friend and I came here on a Wednesday night for dinner. We were seated immediately. Order was taken and the food was served very quickly.
My friend ordered the stirred fried noodle and I ordered the crab omurice. Great flavor with generous portion. I honestly have to say the crab omurice is overrated since it is the signature. The amount of crab meat is lacking.
I would be back to try for different dishes since the flavors are definitely great.“

“I definitely recommend trying this place out!
I'm on a mission to figure out which restaurant in SF makes a mean Khao soi and I think Khaosoi Thai Cuisine was a great start.
It's a very petite sit down spot with about a half dozen tables. The service is nice. My hostess was attentive and very sweet.
The food was very good. The Khao Soi was rich and the beef was SOOOO tender and a heardy proportion. I'd love to come back to try more dishes. I'm surprised to say but I wish the papaya salad was spicier 😅 but still very good. I also feel I will regret saying that when I get my next salad. Also I took the mango sticky rice to go (the rice was purple, fun!)...it was sooo good once I got home.“

“So delicious! We shared a hot tea after a windy spring day along with coconut tom kha soup, Thai fried rice, rolls and pad see ew. Perfect amount of food for three people. I even needed some juice for my phone as it was about to die, and they even helped with that! Amazing service. Will be returning.“

“Such great food and people. We were hungry driving around looking for that magical parking spot next to an acceptable eating spot bingo! We found it all at Gai. Unsure of what kinda of cuisine I said take the chance they’ve got a chicken on the sign so it’s actually food. And boy was it good. Delicious. Freshly prepared Asian Thai or Vietnamese food. I got the Original Chicken Rice bowl with side of broccali. My friend got the salad with Tofu. Both great. He sauces are fresh and flavorful. One is quite hot which I love. I recommend it. And as we sat there from 1:30 pm to 2:30, there were multiple to go orders being picked up. I think there were about 5 orders at a time rotating. Fresh Fast Full of Flavor. We hit the jackpot!“

“My family and I have been coming to Kitties since my kids were in high school and they are all grown with children of their own now. This is a bay area gem, and serves the best food thai in the region. When my kids come into town we always try and go to Kitties it's the best and always the first place we recommend to anyone visiting.“

“Perfect in every way. I order the spicy fried rice and added chicken and shrimp. My friend ordered pad phed beef and mixed them together. Amazing. Satay was awesome! The egg rolls were delicious. Goong grab borg was amazing as well. Portions were more than enough to share between us. Everyone was so sweet and I was so happy that we found this gem. Although I don’t live in the neighborhood, it will be our new go to when I visit! <3“

“On my first visit to San Francisco, I stumbled upon this gem. From the moment I walked in, I felt at home. The food was incredible, and meeting the owner-chef was a treat—everything was perfectly prepared, fast, and the service was excellent. The location was clean, and I can’t thank them enough for making me feel at ease. A true standout!“

“Delicious, flavorful, and quick. My husband and I were looking for a place to have dinner before a show at the Orpheum and this did not disappoint. We arrived an hour before the show and were able to get chicken satay, yellow curry with rice, and pad Thai with more than enough time to walk back to the theatre. Beautiful mural and I enjoyed their music selection.
No photos because I couldn’t resist long enough to take a photo before eating.“

“Food's good and place is cozy. Perfect for casual dinner. If you like spicy, order spicy (not the medium spicy). Portions are great. It's right at the edge of Tenderloin, but feels pretty safe. There are a couple of paid parking lots and paid street parking nearby, so parking isn't an issue. The hosts are really nice.“

“ThaINery – International Food Court is located on the corner of Bush and Kearny streets and in the heart of FD which is an affordable, authentic Thai and tasty place “lo major de mejores” and the only survivor of this once always packed popular lunch joint [*Lee’s Kitchen, French-Vietnamese Pho, Pao Jao Dumpling & Ramen, Pushkin, Taqueria Estrella and Bibim Soul Bunsik Korean Street Food are all gone together with very short-lived “Katsuya” and “Yucatown.”]
My all-year round favorite dish at the ThaiNery is tasty eggplant tofu over rice $15 (used to be $10) which imhv is a delicious, affordable and “safe bet” ingredients wise. The owners are a middle-aged sliding young couple originally from Thailand and several cooks currently and in the past are Yucatecos who have appreciated how to cook authentic Thai through “combat experience” with an attitude to learn, improve and master. 🫡
Support our backbone mom-and-pop shops as we ordinary citizens can make a difference and leave big shot businesses to the wealthy elite & politicians😉 such as the food court which is a silhouette in of The City’s economy in “reality check” (*not wishful thinking of so-called “rebound”). [Sabes que? “Tanto tienes tanto vales.” The Mid-market is literally dying{Emporium/San Francisco Centre is dead. Period.} so is South Market while Chinatown, Union Square/Downtown, North Beach and many other neighborhood commercial strips such as Richmond (Balboa, Clement, Geary) Mission (16th to 30th), Castro, Haight-Ashbury, Sunset (Irving, Judah {9th & 43rd}, Noriega, Taraval), Bernal/Excelsior (Cortland, Persia, Geneva), Noe Valley, Glen Park, Ocean, Parkside, San Bruno, Paul, West Portal, etc. are merely struggling except Japantown and Stonestown are arguably just returning to normal.] ⚠️Under the circumstances, fasten up your seatbelt & save your💰for rainy day! 👍“

“I went here on Saturday afternoon and it was certainly popular; I had to wait 15 min for a table.
I ordered drunken noodles at level 5 spice and honestly it wasn’t bad. My main disappointment with the restaurant comes with the portion sizes. I felt like it was a bit low but you can decide for yourself.“

“I’ve been coming to Basil Canteen for more than ten years, and I just realized I’ve never actually written a review… which feels almost wrong given how often I’m here.
This place is just solid in the best possible way. The food is consistently good — every time. The service is always friendly and on point without being overbearing. And somehow, no matter how busy things get, it still feels easy and comfortable to eat here.
I live just one block away, so Basil Canteen has become one of those places I don’t even think twice about. Quick dinner? Basil. Meeting a friend? Basil. Don’t feel like cooking and want something I know will be good? Basil. It’s dependable in a way that’s honestly rare.
Restaurants like this don’t stick around for years unless they’re doing a lot of things right, and Basil Canteen clearly is. Great people, great food, great energy — and the kind of neighborhood spot you’re genuinely grateful to have nearby.
Very overdue five stars from me.“

“Quiet night for dinner. Ample portions. Asked for medium spice and was pleased that the flavor and spice were perfect. Also got a young coconut which was fun. Fried banana with pistachio ice cream for dessert. Leftovers were packed up beautifully and tasted great the next day for lunch. Sweet servers. Recommend!“

“This is a relatively new restaurant in this area, but after ordering this rice and pork leg stew to try as my lunch, it is taste very much like those dishes I ordered in Bangkok, Thailand. The combination of it spicy homemade sauce that the owner told me she made it herself. She also indicates that she prepare most of the food herself with some help from her Thai staffs she hired from Thailand. The owner is native Thai and it seems she took pride in her cooking and restaurant. Give it a try and you will know what I mean. I also had the tradition coconut pudding dessert and it is quite delicious. I am not from San Francisco but passing by on my business trip and has cravings for Thai food. A solid 8.5 out of 10 for sure. Friendly staff and owner thet will come to chat with you.
Enjoy...“

“A vibrant Thai street‑food style restaurant with bold, authentic flavors that make every meal feel like a trip to Bangkok. Guests enjoy classics like savory pad Thai, rich green curry, crispy chicken over fried rice, and northern Thai khao soi with just the right balance of spice and texture. Portions are generous and well seasoned, and the casual interior has cozy, colorful decor with a relaxed, friendly vibe that suits both casual dinners and fun outings
Management and staff are generally described as friendly and attentive, even during busy service times, making sure guests are seated efficiently and that table needs are met throughout the meal.“

“We had dinner on Saturday night, restaurant was not crowded however we understand that the staff was dealing with take out orders. Service was very slow for our order which seemed pretty straightforward: a soup and padthai. Other guests were served more quickly; people at the next table ordered just before we did, got their food, ate and left beforewe got our food?!? On another note, we were not able to dine on the terrasse since it was a bit chilly and there is only one heater that is broken. Buying more heaters should be made a priority. This said, the food was delicious and tasted very fresh. We all loved it. So highly recommend for the food and maybe ordering as take out, only!“

“This is one of my favorite restaurants. When we lived in Mill Valley, it was on the short list of our rotation: locally owned, wonderful staff and even better than wonderful food. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Now that I live in Illinois, I make a point to eat here every time I am in the Bay Area. I have not found Thai in the US that I like better.“
