“Very good. The Brown sugar pancake is very soft and chewy. And the Sour beans Gnocchi with minced pork is very tasty as well. the Gnocchi is made of very authentic Chinese northern style dough,it’s their specialty here, also very chewy and tender. I like it. Will definitely be back.“

“Found this little gem while on a layover at SFO and the food was amazing! I had the Curry Sliced Beef Ramen and it was probably the best I’ve had. The ordering technology threw me off but I got over it quickly, it is 2025. As far as atmosphere…..just a bunch of people quietly eating lunch. I only gave the service 2 stars because it is an online order and someone just deeply it off at the table. Would definitely recommend though.“

“Excellent classic Chinese home-style cooking with wide-range of choices, all done well, strong wok-hay, and reasonably priced. We had salt and pepper pork chops, scallops and egg white fried rice, and black bean clams, all were really good.“

“I have been here many times, and it’s been awhile since my last visit. This is usually where I go when I am in the area and in the mood for Pho Ga (Chicken pho). They open early for breakfast and have some special sets you can order, such as a rice noodle set, a porridge combo, sandwich set and a noodle soup set meal. Their menu also consists of pho, rice plates, pho ga, etc. They are known for the Pho ga, which is hard nowadays to find a place that serves authentic pho ga. In the morning in can get busy due to the breakfast rush and for the reasonable prices they offer. I was told they open even earlier on the weekends, so please plan accordingly. I highly recommend this place to anyone craving for pho ga, want a great breakfast spot or just so happen to be in the area and is not afraid of trying new things. I definitely will be back to tryout the other delicious options they have to offer.“

“Wanted Pho kinda late, 9pm, and when looking around this place was open late. Stopped by, as expected seated right away as only a few people in the restaurant at that time. Waitress was great, right away brought a cup of water with extra bottle table side for refills. Already knew I wanted pho, but still looked at the menu, everything looked good, if i didn't have my heart set on Pho already would of been a hard decision to make. Ordered the Beef Pho, braised oxtail broth was delicious with shredded oxtail throughout the broth. Came with the typical, bean sprouts, lime wedge, jalapeno slices and fresh basil. Added some of everything. Didn't get a picture when my food first came out as I forgot and was hungry, but remembered when 2/3 through. Can't wait to be back in the area to try some of the other menu items. Would recommend if your looking for some food Asian fusion food.“

“We’re local and were looking for a spot with both vegan and non vegan options to have brunch when we stumbled upon Quail and Crane. We were initially bummed to discover at noon on a Saturday that there was no brunch, and breakfast ends at 11, but we were so impressed and delighted by the lunch options that we will definitely be back. It’s so hard to find vegan eggs, and I was able to get them on the incredible vegan fried rice dish, which I was thrilled about! And my partner loved his wings and spam fried rice. Service was excellent, ambiance was stunning, highly recommend.“

“This place is a fine-dining gem (without the inflated prices of similar establishments). From the warm welcome of Carol to Chef Robert's bar-side interaction with the diners, the atmosphere was cosy and convivial, as if we were dining among friends and family. The dishes were creative and delicious, featuring quality, fresh ingredients that were not skimped on, all enhanced by the pretty tableware they were served in. While we enjoyed all the dishes, the standouts were the Abalone/Hokkaido Uni Chawanmushi and Sushi Mini Don. Based on personal tastes, we would have liked a bit more scallion in the A5 Wagyu Scallion Noodle, and a tad more smoke to the Fusion Sakura Masu Sahimi. Also suggest having a spoon to scoop up the Orange Crab goodness. Small but important detail that is much appreciated - hot tea was continuously topped up. A shout-out to Peter for the yummy chocolate-black sesame tart for my birthday. Thank you 808 Zone (and fellow diners) for a lovely evening. Wishing you continued success - we shall be sharing your address!“

“I have finally gave this place a visit after driving past it many times. Upon arrival, I was lucky to get parking upfront, was greeted by their friendly staff and seated immediately. Their menu is simple and cocnsists of many different noodle soups to choose from. The interior is modern and looks like they have just been renovated. The wait for the food was not too bad, either way it does not bother me since I’m a very patient person. Lastly I would recommend this place for soup lovers or anyone looking to try something new. I would be back to try out other items they have to offer.“

“I love Champa Garden. They serve authentic Lao (and Thai) food, including delicious papaya salad, larb (both of which you can get Lao or Thai style), and perfect sticky rice. The rice ball dish is also delectable! I'm looking forward to trying other dishes. And their prices are very reasonable!“

“The staff was so so helpful and accommodating with my baby and stroller. It's a tight space inside but they seated us in a very comfortable spot where I could park my stroller and they were all very kind (and adorable and silly with the baby). I'm very grateful!!“

“A hidden gem. Really, really nice food, served fresh and piping hot. The veggies are nice and crisp, unlike so many places that serve soggy veggies. I love that the food isn't bathed in salt. The beef is tender and tastes like beef, not just salt and soy sauce. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. On top of that, the prices are shockingly low, especially considering the quality and size of the dishes. My new fave.“

“Great place to get together with friends & family. We had about 30 people for a family get together. Service was great. The outdoor patio was the perfect setting! Most of the food was outstanding. We are actually from Hawaii so we’re very critical about the food.“

“What we thought would be a casual Thai joint in San Mateo turned out to be one of the best veggie meals we've had in a long time. Our group of three split a couple of mainstay dishes including their Papaya Salad, Tom Kha with Tofu, and entrees such as their Fried "Fish" and Minced Basil Soymeat. Everything came in large portions that we were barely able to finish most of them without taking a few bites home. The salad and tom kha were my two favorites - each having so much depth and flavor to each dish. The mock fish was also a standout and really goes well with a serving of rice, so don't forget to order some. Looks like they used to be a fully vegetarian/vegan restaurant but have since started serving animal products. Despite that, I encourage anyone to give them a try because their food and service were fantastic.“

“Chicken was very tender & delicious. I loved that they offered okra (came with some shrimp too). Pot stickers were just ok. The kitchen is open late (think she said 12:30am). We ate there about 9:30pm after a flight home, and there were plenty of other tables eating late on a Sunday night. Full bar & beer on tap. Great late night spot & veggie options.
Parking: We got there late, and the parking lot nearby was free at the time (after 8pm?). There's also street parking.“

“This place is wonderful! I've tried almost everything on the menu, standout items are xiaolongbao, fresh cucumber salad, zha-jiang noodles, and spicy wontons. All of the vegetable dishes are good, but the spicy green beans are my favorite. I live in the neighborhood so I go every week, one of the best places in linda mar.“

“Hands down the best Korean fried barbecued chicken in the Bay Area! Banchan in San Mateo blew me away — perfectly crispy, juicy chicken with a rich glaze that hits all the right notes. The flavors are bold but balanced, and the sides (especially the pickled radish and kimchi) complement the meal beautifully. Service was fast and friendly, and the place was spotless. I’ve been craving it ever since. Highly recommend for anyone who loves Korean BBQ or just amazing fried chicken.“

“Excellent food. I’ve only been able to try the sandwiches, but the two I got were tasty. I tried the combo and the crispy duck. I’ll have to go back to try the pho. It just opened when I got there. They got my sandwiches very quick. The ambiance was nice and modern with plenty of seating. Service was nice and helpful. It’s a little more than what I’m use to for a Banh Mi Sandwich, but I have to take into consideration the neighborhood I’m purchasing it from. I’ll definitely come back.“

“This was our second visit to Avenida. We decided to return because our first experience was outstanding, but unfortunately, this visit fell short in both food and service. We ordered the beef bulalo, which had good flavor, though the beef shank was not as tender as expected. The pork sisig, which was the highlight of our first visit, was noticeably dry this time. The salmon inasal was enjoyable, especially the garlic kangkong that accompanied it, but the mashed potato on the side felt mismatched with the dish. Service began well but became disappointing as the meal went on. Staff asked if we needed boxes while I was still eating, then proceeded to clear dishes without checking if we were finished. Even the extra rice we planned to take home was removed without asking. The bill was brought promptly, giving the impression that we were being rushed, despite the restaurant not being full and with no guests waiting. A more attentive approach like asking if we were finished before clearing plates, confirming whether we wanted to pack leftovers, or checking if we were ready for the bill would have greatly improved the experience. Sadly, this visit was not as enjoyable as our first, and we may not be returning in the near future.“

“This restaurant has very good food all around. The tadyang was crispy but moist. Their bangus sisig was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. It wasn’t dry. They even serve a little bit of soup to start and whet your appetite. The service was also very attentive. We’ll be back to try more.“

“Been meaning to review this location.
This location is perfect for crab and lobster lovers. We ordered the crab and lobster set menu and had both the crab and lobster cooked with garlic sauce. I was told it was amazing, since I am allergic to both crab and lobster, I more of the garlic noodles -yummy., papaya salad, steamed sea bass and charbroiled pork. I really liked their garlic noodles. It’s as good as Thanh Long .“
