“Kicked off the New Year with a fantastic dinner at H L Peninsula, and it did not disappoint! This spot offers classic Cantonese-style seafood dining in a traditional Chinese banquet hall setting. The food was affordable, the portions were generous, and everything we tried was packed with flavor.
We ordered the vegetarian and egg fried rice along with the spare ribs—both were absolutely amazing. The spare ribs were tender and full of savory goodness, and the fried rice was the perfect comforting complement. Bonus: the leftovers kept us happy for days.
We’re already planning to return to explore their seafood dishes, which looked incredible on other tables. If you’re looking for delicious, authentic Cantonese dining with portions that deliver, H L Peninsula is a solid choice.“

“Good tim sum. The baked char siew pow (sweet barbecue pork buns) is nice. Siew Mai is very meaty. Noodles, thin or flat ones not too bad. The century year old porridge (congee) is very meaty, an 8/10 rating. A repeat if in the area.

“Decent Cantonese food, which means not spicy and maybe even a bit on the bland side. I got takeout and the restaurant is tucked in the corner of a strip mall next to a UFC gym. I knew it had to be good because it was a chaotic small hole in the wall type place packed with only Chinese people.
I really liked the beef chow fun, salt and pepper pork chop, and the Chinese broccoli with garlic. Portions were very generous as well.
I’m not sure if I’d ever dine in the restaurant but I will definitely get takeout again.“

“One of the Cantonese dim sum restaurant in Cupertino that captured my palate. My must visit restaurant whenever I am back in this part of the world. Not only they serve good dim sum, but also Cantonese dishes. Fried rice and chow mian are equally great too. Always loved to be speaking Cantonese with the staffs! 👍🏻“

“I was searching for a dim sum place and this restaurant’s name came up with decent reviews. I went there but found out that they no longer serve dim sum, only the regular Chinese food menu. We ended up ordered congee and lobster noodles and those were quite good.“

“First time here, and I very much enjoyed the experience! There's complementary tea and nuts to munch on if you dine in. The brisket noodles also came with a broth that gave the dish a refined deconstructed Chinese ramen vibe with a delicate flavour. The service and portions were superb, and I look forward to coming back!“

“This is our go to Dim Sum spot, locally. It always great food. Sometimes the servers pass us by, but there’s these two ladies that ALWAYS come to our table. They get us what we want to eat. So, we’ll keep coming back!“

“This place used to be called Asian Pearl and is changed to Pearl Bay.
Inside is big and bright, suitable for any Chinese events such as weddings.
Food is decent. The Turnip (Daikon) Cake (Lo Bak Go), Water Chestnut cake and the Taro cakes are all excellent. Not all the dim sum restaurants have the water chestnut cake and taro ones, this is one of the places that serve them and make them very well.
Their black sesame rolls are good too. It is hard to find at other Chinese restaurants too.
Their lettuce with garlic is great.
Their steamed dim sum (such as Har Gow or anything with the white skins outside) isn't as good. The outside skins are thick and they are supposed to be thin.
The Fung Jao (chicken feet) are also so-so, not tender enough. I have had better elsewhere.
The fried chicken wings are disappointing.
The bathroom is not that clean. Wish they keep it in much better shape considering the restaurant's dining area is so nice and elegant.“

“We've been here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner, and have been very impressed with the food on both occasions. They offer dim sum exclusively during lunch, while dinner features a menu of classic Cantonese dishes.
The quality really shines through – you can tell they use fresh ingredients, and everything is well-seasoned and expertly cooked. A standout from our dinner was the steamed live red grouper; it was cooked to perfection and incredibly tender. During our lunch visit, the beef organ stew was a highlight – the organs were clearly fresh and stewed to a wonderful softness.
The staff members are friendly and welcoming. However, it's worth noting that they seem quite understaffed during peak lunch times, so while the service is friendly, it might not be the speediest. Just set your expectations accordingly.
The decor definitely has a nostalgic 2000s Hong Kong feel. A modern refresh would certainly elevate the dining experience.
Overall, the excellent food is the main draw here, and it's more than enough reason for us to return many times.“

“I recently went to the restaurant. I had pan fried chicken noodles and eggplant dish. The fried noodle dish was mouth watering! Crispy and full of flavors. I really enjoyed the flavors in the eggplant dish as well.
Walking into the restaurant really surprised me by their cleanliness! The whole place was spotless!! Hygienic clean. Not a dust in sight. Even the counter space was organized and clean with sanitizer. This really impressed me.
I really appreciated that the owner took time to prepare the meals. I had to wait some time as there was a large order before me but I noticed that she didn’t rush any orders even the small orders.“

“I frequently order three dishes for takeout from New Yong Kang. The staff is consistently friendly, and the service is impressively fast—my food is typically ready within 15 to 20 minutes. I'm always impressed by the quality, variety, and affordability of their offerings. I highly recommend this restaurant!“

“I love going to this restaurant during my lifetime. Dim sum is really good and fresh. My sister and our relatives bought home food and usually they get eaten in a day or two. Goes to show how good the food is.
I should plan to go to that restaurant to dine in and review its atmosphere. It’s been years since having to dine there, but I want to see if there are any changes at the inside.“

“This review is for Sunday dim sum. Solid 4 stars in my opinion. We arrived at 11:30 am on a Sunday morning, right at the peak of any dim sum restaurants busy hours. There was plenty of parking in the area, even at this time. As a small party of 2, we were sat within 15 minutes. Larger parties were waiting about 20-30 minutes.
There are no more carts, instead items are made to order and brought out by servers on large trays. You fill out a menu card complete with a full picture menu - helpful if you're not sure of what you're looking for, and be sure to get a waiters attention as soon as you're done. The dim sum is fresh and made to order. I'd say the quality of the food is very good, better than average, but nothing really stood out as outstanding. Lei's fulfilled our dim sum craving and I would recommend this place and already have a date set for coming back.
Wait staff is attentive and prompt. Food is decently priced and comes to your table hot and fresh. The variety is very good and you're sure to find your favorite Cantonese dim sum delights.“

“The dim sum portions were all quite generous, and everything tasted great. It’s definitely worth trying a variety of dishes. The only downside was the BBQ pork bun—the dough was a bit tough and could use some improvement. But everything else was absolutely delicious!“

“Here's the review with the added information:
"Great take out place for roasted duck and pork. My fav is duck roasted plate which came with rice and steamed cabbage. Loved the duck flavor. It's in the lions supermarket complex, just outside the supermarket. Not recommended for dining-in. It's a quick grab the food and take away."“

“Food is super authentic hong Kong cha chaang ten food. Got the traditional baked rice dishes, as well as common HK dishes like beef chow fun, congee, etc. service was ridiculously fast. Ordered three things and within five minutes of ordering, our dishes were on the table , piping hot.
Really appreciated the "happy hour" menu which goes from 2;30 pm to closing (midnight), which offers a really good deal on pricing, with drink included. The portions are smaller than if I didn't order from the happy hour menu but still pretty decent size for a serving. We had leftovers. Also the menu for happy hour is pretty extensive, has all the classic dishes which were the same ones I was going to order anyway.
They accept card but will be 3% extra charge. Otherwise cash is totally fine.
Saw lots of people eat in at all hours as well as many people ordering takeout.
Would def come again for both dine in and take out to feed my HK classic dish cravings!“

“I wonder why this place only gets 3.8 stars? Service was quick and efficient, prices were reasonable, food was well seasoned and flavorful!
We weren’t here on a Tuesday night and seated right away. Waiter brings us tea and menu right away !
The daily specials were a great deal to order. A whole yellow chicken for $18.99! And It was very tasty.
The dry fried flat beef noodles is another good dish to order! We will love to come back again to try other dishes on the menu!
Parking: Free and big parking lots.“
