“I was initially turned off by the prices but the portions are huge. The tacos were $6.99 each but the diameter was 7 inches which is larger than typical tacos. The carne asada and al pastor were marinated well. The tortillas here are super fresh, made on the spot. I ordered the huarache. Again, their tortilla dough is super fresh. It came with two eggs on top.

You get free chips and salsa. The chips are not self serve but the salsas are.

The restaurant is pretty small and has 3 tables inside and 2 tables outside.

This is an order at the counter spot. You'll need to go up to ask for a cup of water, togo box, etc. They can be quite busy so it took a bit for me to get my box.

They only accept cash or Zelle as of now.“

Content creators and musicians in the area visit sometimes: Herencia de Patrones (Clika), Rob the Original (master barber), and more have visited Los Gallos Taqueria.

Los Gallos Taqueria gives back to the community (i.e. turkey drive) and brings live music to Newark (corrido, grupo, mariachi nights).

We appreciate the occasional DoorDash deals! I wish DoorDash made it easier to DoubleDash EZBACHI (Newark) and Los Gallos Taqueria.

Tijuana Style tacos with Al Pastor meat are go-to, so are super nachos (custom order: add grilled onions and jalapenos, hold the sour cream).

It's easy to get here from the from Union City BART station on the AC transit 200 bus. The drive thru service is convenient for online order pickups.

“Came here twice and had tortas and a super burrito. Food was good, no complaints. Made to order so took like appx 15min to get. The burrito was kind of small but it was juicy and well made. The torta was not to big either ( portions are small, not a bad thing) but again well made but in my personal opinion a little dry. Otherwise excellent. Service was great too, the cashier was friendly and made me feel welcome. As for the atmosphere it was very clean and spacious. Great place for Mexican food!“

“I recently checked out Pupuseria Y Taqueria Rosita and had a solid experience overall.

We ordered 4 cheese pupusas and 2 revueltas. Both had good flavor, but the cheese pupusas were definitely the standout. The revueltas were made with rice dough and had a thicker edge than I prefer, though the flavor was still good.

We also tried the fried corn tamales, and these were excellent—perfectly cooked, slightly sweet, and crispy without being hard.
Lastly, we ordered pastelitos with meat (came with 5). They were fried nicely and had a great crispy texture, but the filling was just meat and the flavor was a bit plain. I was hoping for more of a traditional mix with onions, carrots, and potatoes like you’d find in El Salvador.

The curtido (cabbage slaw) had good flavor, but it tasted like it had been sitting for a few days—still fine to eat, just more pickled than fresh.

Overall, a good experience with some standout items. I’d come back, especially for the cheese pupusas and tamales.“
