“I was at Heritage to celebrate a special occasion — the restaurant was cozy and homey. The kitchen was right in front of us, so the whole room was filled with different aromas. Both the service and food were great. The first few courses were delicious, adding a bit of extra excitement to the meal. That said, for a restaurant charging $195/person with a Michelin star, serving food and beverages on a cracked plate and in a chipped cup felt off. When I asked the staff about it, she gave me a smirk and downplayed it with some excuses and brushed it off. Better quality control may be needed as your guests deserve better.“

I love the large varieties of cookies there and they're large! Every cookie and small pie has been absolutely delish! I just had a small key lime pie this past weekend that SO good!“

Chef Walter has created a robust, impressive Italian menu, and Scott, the sommelier, was fantastic. His knowledge of wine really stood out to me, and his recommendations made the dining experience that much better. He picked the perfect bottle for our specific food and occasion. “Came here while attending a conference at the Westin, looking for interesting coffee… and they certainly have that here. They had two different coffees on drip and I chose one from Uganda - I think my first time I’ve had a coffee from there. It was quite good. They have coffees from like 12 different countries they roast themselves at another location in bags for purchase. Really nice spaces indoors and out. Definitely recommend.“

“Can I give this place 10 stars? No, well it deserves it. Their treats are so yummy. Normally health and allergen conscious bakeries fall short of normal ones but this one manages to taste better than normal bakeries. I love that their baked goods aren’t overly sweet and their house/made kombucha is killer. Thank you for existing!“

“I came here right before closing (annoying, I know) looking for a chocolate bar I saw online called The Conscious Bar. Came for the chocolate, stayed for the story. I asked the owner too many questions about the shop and she patiently answered all of them explaining her vision is more than just to run a successful cafe but also to be a light in this community. I'll be coming back to try all the patries. It was very clean and comfortable inside too. Like an Oasis in the wilderness that is Valley View and Rosecrans.

UPDATE: I got the bottled honey oat latte and that was really good. Being lactose intolerant, it was nice to have something dairy free ready to grab and go instead of having to special-order it.

Also tried the blueberry cream cheese Cruffin. This is refrigerated because of the cream cheese I think. Cold croissants aren't usually that good, but this was light enough to enjoy cold and it has already been devoured, would get it again, but probably better with a hot drink. I bought a few more of the Conscious Bar chocolate bars.“

We got an assortment of pastries, so far the donut, Twix bar, and rugelach are amazing! They had jalapeno brioche buns that had sold out by the time we got there, going to have to go back to try them, along with the gluten free pizza.“

“Worthy of a special trip! They took such care in their preparation. It’s not a glitzy place but the service was special. Counter order, lots of options. My wife and I stopped there as we were staying at the Hampton inn in the same area. I had a yellowtail roll along with tempura and my wife had the salmon. Vegetables were perfect presentation was spot on for casual dining and my roll was one of the best I’ve had. Perfect proportion of spicy tuna to yellowtail to rice. If I lived in the area I would go here at least once a week. Prices were also spot on and in many cases extremely reasonable. Bravo Kabuto!!! A special place!!“

Individual bread pieces are fresh and generously large. Be prepared to buy and freeze some of it to eat. One last hint, right after turning at the handwritten sign, drive on thru all the way to the back. It is the last commercial building at the end. Don’t stop until you see the Melrose deliveries trunks 😉“

“I like to stop at this donut place when I'm in the area. They have a large variety of donuts and they all look delicious. Prices are reasonable. I usually get a mocha ice blended drink. The man who helped me last time fulfilled my request to have the drink extra blended (sometimes the ice is too chunky to drink through a straw when it's not blended enough). He was kind about helping me out. The lady is so kind too. I was having a rough time one day and she shared some kind words with me that kept me going. This place isn't located in the best part of town, but other than that I have nothing but good things to say about it - the food and the staff in particular.“

Other bakeries near the wedding venue were already closed and others needed at least 48 hour notice… the wedding was happening NOW. I called Sonora Bakery in my final desperate attempt, explained the situation, sent them a picture of the cake and within minutes, they got to work. The cake was delicious and the wedding was saved. “I have been coming to Grounds Bakery & Cafe since the day they opened. They have some of the best fresh breads and pastries. Such a massive selection. My favorite are the sandwiches. Honestly the best tuna sandwich in the world. And literally, I mean the world- I have tried them everywhere. And their is not single place other then grounds that gets them right and perfect.
