Overall, the food has a tasty, lighter, and balanced flavor profile that we enjoy. But talking about service, can you imagine our surprise when a waitress walked over to our table and gave us 50.00 in cash (not credit) saying that we overpaid on our last visit - a month ago! Some years earlier, one of the sushi chefs and former student of mine paid for our meal as a surprising and much appreciated gesture of gratitude. Thank you.“

“We moved to Hollywood Beach a year ago and finally decided to give Fisherman’s Sushi a try. The set up is a little strange, it’s like an abandoned food court that has just them operating out of it, in a small space. However, the dining area was an open with seats for full service. For me this is a pick up and go spot and not made for dining in. With that said the sushi was good and the service was fast. We had the caterpillar roll and the Fisherman’s roll and a beef teriyaki box. The flavors were good and it did taste fresh. The price point was also fair. So for me this is a great spot to pick up from or have delivered.“

Fish is as fresh as the Ocean and whatever came into Ventura or Santa Barbara in today's catch. Omakase for $60 pp and an amazing specials board with fresh eel, uni, sea bream, wahoo, scallops, amaebi, blue fin toro, and many others. “Hands down BEST sushi in Ventura! We come here at least once a week. Highly recommend parking along the street, catching sunset on the beach, then coming here for dinner. Although everything I’ve ordered here has been excellent, my very favorites are the Avocado Bomb (the best I’ve ever had) and the Sushi House Roll. The staff are always very welcoming, friendly, and attentive.“

“4 of us came here for lunch to celebrate our coworker's birthday. Surprised to find we were the only ones there. Most of us opted for 3 item combo - the soup was ok, tofu tasted a bit weird, salad was good, the sushi I got were delicious and filling, the tempura was tasty too albeit greasy. Service was minimal and we were the only ones there, we had to ring the bell a couple of times for service. The place itself is outdated and could use some sprucing up. The table felt sticky and bench didn't have much support for the backside“

“Had lunch here. It was really good. The only issue i had was that when I first arrived I was waiting for the other party to show up. Which took about 10 minutes for them to arrive. Within that time the waiter served my drink but also asked me 2 times if I was ready to order and I told him I was waiting for the other guest to arrive.“

You get soup and a salad to start with I believe that's part of the service because we didn't order it lol so u do get what you pay for. Good portions and a very good place to go to.
