“Came in on a Tuesday night and had great service and Sushi. My buddy, who really isn't a sushi guy like me and I had Albacore Delight, Albacore Lover roll, Hawaiian roll and the Jalisco roll. Every one of them was fresh and really good! Stuffed Jalapeño was great too. He is now hooked! Our server was the owner and he was on top of it the entire time. Will go back for sure when visiting .“
“In my top 3 sushi places in ventura (Seaward sushi, Banzai Marina, and now Koba sushi). This restaurant is a smaller place that is cozy and inviting. It's a more traditional sushi restaurant that serves the freshest sushi! The staff was very nice and friendly. The place was spotless and pleasant to be in. And the food was delicious! It is pricey bit worth it. Would highly recommend to anyone that wants quality sushi (and sake)!“

“Great spot, minutes from the beach! They have an Amazing extensive menu! An easy walk from the Ventura Beach hotel! They even accommodated the vegetarian with several vegetarian rolls options! The tempura vegetable roll was the best. They also serve beer and wine. My Sauvignon Blanc paired perfectly with the heat of the wasabi! They have several options of Japanese beer! We also got the shishito peppers, edamame and the avocado bombs were a hit! I will absolutely be back the next time we are in town!Vegetarian options: There are several options to choose from! “We came for a birthday dinner so we were a large group. Once we were seated, our server took our drink orders. But it took a bit longer for the server to take our meal order. Once our chef arrived then the night became exciting and entertaining. The freshly made food tasted delicious. At the end of the dinner, a server offered to take our picture and had it printed within minutes.“

“i have been coming here for almost 2 decades LOL and when i say this is my ultimate comfort food, I!! am!!! not!! joking!!! ??ozeki noodle has been a long time establishment in vc serving some of the tastiest and warm japanese comfort food and i will always recommend ozeki to anyone stopping by.the original owners have moved on and retired (i luv them ?) but the food and recipes still stand to be the same and just as delicious.highly recommend, it’s a hole in the wall and now next to a nice milk tea shop as well, don’t miss out !“

I ordered the Sweet Heart rolls and found them delicious and filling. I ordered a Benito box to go. Parking may be difficult if there are a lot of people, but I had an overall satisfying experience and would recommend it.“
“We came here because the bbq place we were recommended was closed. At first I wasn’t sure how it was going to be. But oh my. For $13 the lunch special is on the best deals ever. The food was being made right in front of you and the workers were so nice. The food was good and eating outside by the marina was so delightful. “The food was absolutely outstanding rolls were very fresh and chicken and spicy pork were tender and juicy. Meats were all perfectly seasoned. Bento box is great deal. Tempura was amazing and so was the california roll. Atmosphere was very traditional and felt like a miniature japan. Service was very very friendly and kind and welcoming. Been here multiple times and never rude service, coming back again!Dietary restrictions: Food was very balanced and offered very yummy salads and many low calorie foods.“

Could be 10x better if this was at least refried or fried fresh.- Do watch out for shrimp tails at the end of the rolls, I personally like them but some people dontR3: Great White Shark Roll 9/10- We ordered this twice, awesome mix of flavors- Garlic is freshly roasted and hot. Strong flavor- The Jalapeno gave a nice texture and flavor to the roll- A bite or two isnt too spicy but the spice does add up the more you eat- Overall highly recommendedR19: Volcano Roll 5/10- Lots of scallops on top of the roll but it just kinda rolled everywhere and its flavor didnt really blend with the roll itself. Scallops itself were good and the roll itself were good, we just didnt enjoy eating both in one bite.- Too much sauce, it made the roll soupy to where it would fall apart when you pick it up- Might need to change the plating of this dish because it does have potential. “We just started coming here. Really like the food a lot. Volcano roll is great, as is garlic albacore. Staff is always friendly and helpful. They loaded up a miso soup with extra tofu for my 3 year old who loves just the tofu out of the soup. It's a strange request that they had no trouble helping out with. My daughter chose Kibo as her reward for straight A's.“

“Theres a reason why this place is always busy. Its always fresh, good rolls, good combos/specials. I always pick up lunch here. They have the best lunch specials plus the price is amazing. Usually get the chirashi bowl or sushi lunch special D with tempura or sushi lunch special C w/ spicy tuna. Always have to tell them to leave out the furikake on the rice in the chirashi because it makes it so much more salty and ruins it. Also have to make sure it's D as in dog not b as in boy for the sushi lunch special because they keep messing it up on that too . They also have korean chirashi (hwae dup bap) but always remember to ask for the sauce on the side or else they can put too much. ? Also, Always check the food if they got it right when ordering TOGO, and if they added Wasabi and ginger because they often forget! Which I can't eat sushi without my wasabi!! Then I get mad! Other than that, I have to say this is the best sushi place in all of Ventura.“
“Our first time here. The ribs were extremely tasty. The rolls were huge, very large portions. You get a lot of food for the price. Spent about $70 for two special rolls, one order sushi, the dinner portion beef BBQ plate that came with a salad & rice, & one hot tea.We want to come back another time to try more. It might just be because of the particular rolls that we ordered, but they were pretty wet & the rolls themselves fell apart very easily (not just the toppings falling off) just with trying to pick them up & eat them. The mackerel sushi was okay. The beef BBQ ribs were very good, would order again. Plan to return in the future to try out other items & sushi to get a better gauge of the food. As of now, Sumo does not beat my current favorite sushi spot, but especially if you’re needing to feed a larger family/ group, this is a good option.Everyone that helped us was friendly. Plenty of free parking.“

“It was very good and I enjoyed everything I had to eat which included 4 shared rolls and a bento box with pork cutlet which was exceptional. I was disappointed to find no "real" crab of any kind on the menu. If I'm going to have crab in sushi it needs to be real or just avoid those rolls all together, which we did. “Found this spot at the beginning of the year and it has become our new favorite sushi spot. It honestly exceeded our expectations as we are afraid to try another spot. Our go to order is 2 Laker Rolls & 1 Maya Roll which both have cream cheese in them. Maya comes with jalapeños inside, the other doesn't. The food comes super fresh out the deep fryer which is the best part. You can't go wrong with these. It's pretty common sense blowing on your food before you take a bite to avoid burning yourself. As for service, our waitress always greets us cheerfully every time we come. She remembers us & allows us to sit wherever we're comfortable. There is the sushi bar area or table seating. She always checks in making sure everything is going well. Dining area is bit small but our table is always clean with chopsticks. The vibes are casual not too fancy. Another thing to note for the best service and quality, avoid dinner rush hours. Expect to pay $40+ for two including drinks, no appetizers.“
