“Six Test Kitchen - A Culinary and Oenological Gem!
My experiences at Six Test Kitchen are truly exceptional, especially thanks to the remarkable Christian Davy, the Wine Director. It's clear that Christian brings not just expertise, but a genuine passion for wine to the table.
He came on board at Six Test Kitchen thanks to Chef Ricky Odbert, & he's been instrumental in crafting an incredible wine program. I was particularly impressed with the thought put into the two distinct wine pairing options: a standard pairing and a reserve list. This offers fantastic flexibility depending on your preference and budget.
Christian's ability to perfectly complement Chef Odbert's innovative nine-course menu is outstanding. His commitment to finding such rare gems ensures a memorable and exclusive experience. Christian Davy elevates the dining experience at Six Test Kitchen to an art form. His selections are not just pairings; they are integral to the culinary journey, enhancing every bite. Highly recommend!“

“We had a truly memorable anniversary dinner at The Restaurant at Justin. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. The food was exquisite—highlights included the halibut crudo, lamb, pasta, and a series of creative and delicious amuse-bouche selections. The kitchen was also incredibly thoughtful and accommodating of our dietary needs.Dessert was equally impressive, providing a perfect finale. What truly elevated the evening, though, was the wine pairing—easily the best I’ve ever experienced. Each selection was thoughtfully chosen and complemented the dishes with precision and elegance. The service was just as outstanding as the food. The servers were warm, attentive, and deeply knowledgeable. They introduced each course with care, explained the ingredients and preparation beautifully, and ensured perfect timing throughout the meal. Their genuine hospitality made us feel truly welcomed.
Chef Rachel’s artistry with fresh ingredients shone through in every dish, and truly justifies the Michelin star. The harmony of flavors and presentation reflected a high level of craft and creativity. A phenomenal experience from beginning to end—highly recommended, and can not wait to go back!“

“Every time we visit Justin Winery, downtown, Jose goes above and beyond to make our experience truly meaningful. He is delightful. From the moment we arrive, he treats us like royalty, always greeting us with the warmest smile and genuine hospitality. Jose has an incredible way of making you feel welcomed and valued. He takes the time softly to explain each wine, sharing the details behind every pour,, which makes tasting experience so much more meaningful and enjoyable.“
“The Rhône LIVES in Tin City!
Always on the lookout for new grape friends & especially in Paso. The Levo folks have been on our radar for over a year & we FINALLY got the chance to do a proper sit-down midweek tasting last week. 100% across the board! Very chill & inviting location, thoroughly cool & approachable staff & EPIC wines! Don’t think I’ve signed up as a wine club member faster than with Levo & left with over a case of their goodies. Oh yeah, concrete “Egg” they use, straight outta the Terra Alta or Lyon!“
“Awesome place with friendly and knowledgeable staff!“
“Enchanting, spacious, and whimsical grounds to enjoy their delicious wines. If you’re looking for a kid-friendly area winery, this is the one! Lots of room for playing, plenty of other kids, and they even have some games. Live music is a nice touch.“

The staff here truly go above and beyond to make every guest feel welcomed and well taken care of. “My favorite breakfast place great service, great food, I had been been going here for years, now when I come into town to see my girls, I take them here for our daddy/ daughter date, it’s our special thing to do“
“We stayed there through harvest host on Saturday night. We were greeted promptly and they showed us where to park our RV. Wine was great and tastings were reasonable priced. Lots of parking and lots of tables. Some seating inside and out. They often have entertainment and we got lucky they did the night we were there They had a kids movie night inside the open air tasting room and parents could hang out and taste wine. We especially loved the Zinfandel and the other blends. The rose was good too.“

“I had the blueberry pancakes with maple syrup and butter. Three big pancakes, well made and full of blueberries. Very tasty and a good portion.
My girlfriend had an omelette with the avocado, which also went down really well. The coffee was good too although it would have been nicer to have fresh milk to add to it rather than the small packs of half & half.
Staff were friendly and attentive and made for a pleasant visit.
Loads of seating available both indoors and outside. We sat outside which even though it's on the road didn't really feel like it because there wasn't much traffic.“
“This winery is amazing! I called a week in advance for the Jeep Tour and Bryan was so patient while I tried to plan everything out with him. We got there an hour before our appointment and they allowed us to start with the wine tasting. All of the staff were so incredibly kind!
I highly recommend taking the Jeep Tour with Bryan. For us, it was 4 adults and a dog in the Jeep and it was such a nice time! Bryan made additional stops and answered everything we were curious about. His sense of humor was great.
When the tour was over we decided to go back to the outdoor tasting area. Leslie was so sweet! She’s very knowledgeable and a great person to talk to :) she even brought a bowl of water and a toy for my puppy to play with. She said people are more than welcome to bring their own food or have it delivered to the winery to enjoy with their wine. I wish we had done that! It’s definitely a place I would go anytime I’m in the area.“
“Our visit to Alta Colina was one of the highlights of our trip. It’s a smaller, more intimate winery with a truly beautiful setting—and that made the experience feel personal and special right from the start.
We were warmly welcomed by Maggie, who was absolutely wonderful. Her hospitality, warmth, and the way she made us feel like family really stood out. There was also another team member assisting us whose name I didn’t catch, but she was equally kind and attentive. As someone who works in the hospitality industry, I deeply value that kind of genuine connection and care.
We also loved that Alta Colina feels a bit off the beaten path—it’s not overly commercial, and you can tell the focus is on quality wine, authentic experiences, and supporting something truly local. The wines were excellent, and the whole experience left us feeling inspired and grateful.
Thank you to Maggie and the entire team at Alta Colina—we’ll definitely be back, and telling friends about this gem.“
“CaliPaso is one of my favorite places in Paso Robles. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, mildly exciting with sports generally on the large screen TV and a super friendly staff. Their wines are wonderful and reasonably priced. It’s just a nice place to spend time with friends old and new.“

“A wonderful spot for traditional Japanese. The sushi bar is fresh fresh fresh w-delicacies that aren’t always easy to find, the cooked foods were delicious and savory. Service was perfect and the price was fair. Run by a woman who took it over from her father. What more is there to say!? Go!!!“

“Food was decent, but the value for breakfast is not good. Coffee is SEVEN dollars, a bottle of beer here is 6 for comparison. Only 1 piece of toast with my omelet? The place was ok, but I felt like I was being nickled and dimed. I was able to walk down the street and get Amazing coffee for $3“
“Great staff and atmosphere! The wines were incredible. Especially the Zinfandel! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! 🥳🥳“
“This is our first Winery Tour ever, and Austin Hope was the first winery of our day, so we didn't really know what to expect. Upon arrival, were warmly greeted with a glass of white wine, then escorted to a corner cabana with the backdrop of the vineyard! At first, I was a bit hesitant seating outside because it was March and this year has been unusually cold, but the hostess assured me that they had heat lamps and blankets. Sure enough, with the beautiful flame heat lamp and the soft warm blanket, we were comfortable and cozy, and settled into a wonderful experience. I forgot who was our server, but she was very knowledgeable about the wines, and also personable and caring. She make sure that we were comfortable, and our young daughter had sparkling water in her wine glass so she could (kind of) participate with us. I highly recommend their Charcuterie tray, which has a great assortment of wine, meats and nuts. I love how our server explained the wine at each pour, then leave us ample time to enjoy the glass and talk. She also brought us handwarmers to keep our hands warm. There were so many small caring touches that truly made our first winery tasting experience so wonderful. I'm not much of a wine person, but I ended up loving their wine too. After our tasting at Austin Hope, the other wineries just couldn't compare. Thank you very much for a first winery experience that I will never forget. I will definitely be back!“
“My spouse and I visited Calcareous in mid-March for a Cabernet tasting that was out of this world. We tasted a variety of wines from different vintages that were all outstanding. Each was beautifully made and are a great value for their price point. Our host, Nate, explained the wine characteristics, production details, and winery history. He expertly answered endless questions about the local wine community and other wine trivia. The whole experience was just great.“
“My girlfriends and I spent the most delightful tasting at Tablas Creek with our host Heidi. The wine was wonderful- but the service was exceptional. She was fun, knowledgeable, and made the experience absolutely delightful. We can’t wait to come back!“
“Fabulous place to sit relax and experience. Wines are excellent and food fantastic. Highly recommended to plan ahead and make a reservation, typically parking and location is full.
Weather can behit, in the summer, they have plenty of umbrellas and have always made visit pleasant.“
“Beautiful winery ?. The food was Amazing. Our server Kristie was perfect. The Cave tour with Tim was Devine and so worth the time. Tom is a true Historian and knew all the history of this property and all the wines. “If you're a wine enthusiast looking for something truly special, Diablo Paso is a must-try. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you! Be sure to ask for Deb when you visit the tasting room. She’s incredibly friendly and can provide expert guidance on the wine selection.“
“My wife and I had a great Sunday afternoon at the Robert Hall Winery. So many great wines that are different than what you might get at
your favorite restaurant. Are server Kelly was great. I really loved the Grenache. The wine maker Amanda is crushing it. So many great wineries in Paso but this should be on your list.
Cheers“
“Superb wine! Incredible white and red wine!“
“Amazing Product and Top Notch Service every time!!!“
“We took the TRI tip sandwich, it was warm, and the combination of cheese and beef was really good.
The desert was crunchy, and the cheese filling worked amazingly with the pistachio.
We took the wine testing, and opaque darkness is the best one by far, it goes smooth, with deep flavors.“

“Just had an amazing experience at Eberle. Kirk, our tasting guide, possessed a wealth of knowledge about the vineyard and its history. He could not have been more entertaining, informative, and just generous with his time and tasting! Thoroughly enjoyed all the wines- all the reds have elegance and depth- but are less in your face than some California reds, but so smooth, lovely and enjoyable. We will be back!! In the day and age when everywhere is reservations only and super pricey, Eberle is a breath of fresh air- with years of quality to back up their stellar reputation.“
“A girls weekend in Paso started with a patio tasting at Lone Madrone. Our server Mary walked us through some history and info on their dry farming and organic practices behind their wines. We tasted five wines and their English Bristols cider. My favs were the 2022 Estate Zinfandel and the 2022 Old Hat. I loved the fact that the winemaker's son designed the gorgeous label for the Zin, featuring a wreath of the cover crop they use in their organic vineyards. I got a bottle and once it's empty, I have plans to put some twinkly lights in it.
It was disappointing that although the winery confirmed with our organizer that they had lunch available at the time of our Friday visit (we did have a reserved tasting reservation), it turned out that they were not serving lunch that day! But it ended up working out - we drove down the road and had an outstanding lunch with great cocktails at Barton's Kitchen.“
“Had a great time doing a wine tasting at Dilecta. All the wines were fantastic and tasted like nothing else we had tried elsewhere, and our server was very welcoming and personable. Would definitely go back and recommend to any friends & family.“
“Although the day began with clouds, the weather was pleasant and ideal for our group of four to start our Camp Cass adventure. Our tour guide was “Chase” and he met us at the main Tasting Room to start the day’s activities. We visited the restrooms and admired the expansive vistas of the entire Cass Winery estate from the highest point in the vineyard. The views are absolutely stunning. We then traveled together in a convoy of personal vehicles to the location where Cass Winery offers axe throwing and archery ranges with wine tasting for enjoyment. Eight of us had a great time doing archery and sharing a bottle of 2023 VIOGNIER Cass white wine. The white wine undergoes a cold fermentation process in stainless steel, resulting in a delightful combination of scents like honeysuckle, apricot, and Asian pear. The flavor of pear is prominent and continues on the palate, accompanied by a subtle note of banana custard that lingers into a satisfying grapefruit finish. Following our successful and expertly taken family photos at the shooting range, we made our way to the charming cafe tasting room on the east side of the wine estate. Beautiful Rhone vines, towering oak trees, and a picturesque Chef’s Garden surrounded the tasting room. We relished in a delightful lunch, accompanied by two glasses of exquisite red wine. The first being the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon, which is deep ruby red and has lovely fruit forward fragrances of lingonberry jam, black cherry, cassis, and cranberry. The second being our favorite 2021 ROCKIN’ ONE RED. 40% Mourvèdre, 27% Syrah, 26% Grenache, 7% Petite Sirah. The lovely red garnet color offers instant aromas of raspberry cordial, red cherry, and raisins. The taste buds detect notes of raspberry, vanilla, earth, and almond. We had a delightful wine tasting experience with a selection of dishes, including the Cass estate bread flight served with estate-grown olive oil, chef’s marmalades, spreads, and olives. Alice Cass’ crab cakes, a Caesar salad, blackened chicken mac and cheese, and a Monte Cristo panini with smoked ham, mortadella, bacon, and sweet lemon raspberry preserves. 😍😉“
“Off the beaten track but so so worth it! Gorgeous outdoor setting and cozy indoor space are both comfortable. Large variety of wines including unique varietals and blends and all are lovingly crafted and delicious. The cheese tray is not-to-be-missed. I haven't had a chance to try the wood fired pizzas, but can't wait to go back. My hosts were Kate and Cindy and they were both knowledgeable and friendly. Came in as a customer, left as a friend. If you have a hard time deciding which wine is your favorite, as I did, I suggest joining the wine club.“
“Aug Visit:
Stellar Winery STILL after being a member for several years now. No BS, just great wine from the bottle. The team is fantastic because the wine itself is not pretentious.
March Visit:
After visiting 12 wineries from Monterey to Paso last week, Caliza STILL stands out to be the BEST from the wine to the hospitality. The boutique rustic-style tasting room is tucked away at the end of the road beyond Booker Vineyard. Rarely do I ever enjoy every single wine from a tasting, but somehow Carl's wines have made purchasing just a single bottle or even a few bottles nearly impossible. Shout out to Tyler, Maury, and Mandy again for always making our visit memorable. We are glad and appreciative of Caliza following Covid precautions. Looking forward to next time!
Feb Visit:
QPR is absolutely on point! Hospitality is absolutely on point! Maury and Tyler were fantastic! Everyone working here is here because what they do is truly guiding the potential of the fruit. The wine speaks for itself. No overpriced wine! No fancy tasting room to curve your experience. Just honesty from both the employees and wine!“
