“My service club was trying out different restaurants in Diamond and June's spot is Solo Hot Pot. We came at a good time for dinner and was able to fit our group in two tables pushed together.

Each person orders their own thing, picking their ingredients and broth. They weigh your bowl of stuff (veggies, meat, seafood, noodles, etc) and it's $15.99 per pound. If you don't pace yourself, it's very easy to end up with an expensive bowl of hot pot. Mines ended up weighting a little over 1.5 lbs, so my hot pot was over $25 before taxes. Some broths also have an additional charge (like the tonkotsu is $4.95 extra), so keep that in mind. I picked the organic miso broth, which had no extra charge. My hot pot was pretty yummy since I got to choose exactly what I wanted in it and even though I ordered a little too much, I enjoyed it the next day for lunch.

The sauce bar is included and they offer iced green tea with refills for $1.99 more. If you need a refill of the iced tea, you can let them know and they'll refill your cup. Very refreshing!

Even though we paid separately, they do charge 18% big party service charge for groups of 5 or more.

Parking was plentiful and easy in the plaza.“

“So I’ve been driving by this place for over 20 years and never bothered to stop by. Today, my partner mentioned this place and I said okay let’s check it out.
My partner loved his chicken and veggie bowl. It was well worth the $12.99. There were actual veggies and not just cabbage ( broccoli, mushrooms, zucchini, cauliflower and carrots) perfectly cooked/steamed. Chicken to veggies ratio was just right and I mean damn there was so much my partner left a few pieces. Normally he takes some of my chicken since it’s never enough. Hands down will return for the chicken and veggie bowl.
I ordered the chicken plate which comes with a green salad. Well worth the $14.99.

Next time I’ll try their teriyaki burger, maybe 😜

Look, just being honest... every time I come to this area and they're open, I HAVE to eat here. It's that good! I honestly regret every time I pass by and can't get one of their delicious bowls.

“Got the chicken katsu curry here. The curry here is pretty close to perfection for me. Of course it’s down to preference, but the consistency was spot on and the flavor was amazing and had a bit of fruitiness to it and it had little chunks of carrot and potato in it. “First time here. Service was excellent! William helped us decide on our order and was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The food is delicious and the presentation was perfect. We had the spicy miso ramen with gyozas and salmon teriyaki with tempura. The gyozas and tempura were perfectly crispy. My husband loved the ramen and he could make it as spicy as he wanted. The miso soup is one of the best I've had. The salmon was excellent and all the sauces were delicious. We will definitely be back!“

“Had a great experience at Eighty Eight Q! The food was really good, but the service from Hermione was what really stood out.

She was super attentive and somehow always knew when we needed more meat, sides, or dessert. She would check in at just the right time without us having to flag her down or ask. It made the whole experience so easy and enjoyable.

“My go-to has always been the Saikoro Mazesoba and I like how much meat was given. The sauce is thick but it's not too intense to the point that it becomes too much, which is good for me. The vegetables added texture to every bite and it does well to prevent us from getting tired from eating the same texture and taste. I like the condiment choices they provide on the side as well. I feel like the price is fair and the atmosphere in this restaurant is pretty good. My only criticism is that the meat is a little dry. I gave it a 4/5 stars but on a 10-rating scale I would give it an 8.5“

“Went there for breakfast on Saturday early (8:30) to beat the rush. Only waited 20 minutes. Had belly to belly, creme brulee french toast. avocado toast, and two orders of the berry cloud pancakes. For drinks we had classic coffee, Pandan latte, Spanish latte, and Cookie? latte. Both drinks and food were great. Only complaint is that we order the 2nd pancake a few minutes late and it didn't arrive till most of us were finished. Be warned .. get your orders in for the cloud pancakes early.
