“Bale French Sandwich is a tiny shop tucked away in Mira Mesa Square serving quick Vietnamese dishes like banh mi, fried rice, egg rolls, and boba.

We enjoyed the charbroiled pork and lemongrass chicken banh mi - a great value at $6.25 each. The bread had a great crust: thin, very crisp, and flaky. The pickled carrot and daikon added nice texture and brightness, while the raw jalapeños brought the right amount of heat. The egg rolls were also a hit, with a peppery flavor and a crisp outer shell.

Note that this is a grab-and-go spot with a strictly business vibe. The service is efficient, so have your order ready. There is only one small table for snacking and two benches for waiting. They also offer extensive party tray options if you order in advance.

We’ve ordered catering from the Scripps Ranch location and also love coming in as a family. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully done. I especially love the generous use of fresh avocado - I have way too many favorites to choose from. Their unique, healthy twists on classic salads and sandwiches really set them apart.

Salads I keep coming back to include their takes on the Cobb, Caesar, Quinoa & Avocado, and the Not So Fried Chicken Salad. “When considering the size and cost of this sub, it is a great sandwhich. I love the philly cheese subs, hot buffalo chicken, and chicken bacon ranch all on herb and cheese bread. Not a lot of seating and the parking is very crowded. The staff rotates in and out fast since its a summer job kind of place, so during lunch rush with a trainee cashier, it can take a bit longer than normal, but overall still worth the wait and difficult parking lot.“

What is my judgement of the "atmosphere" here? Too funny. It's a deli, in a commercial area. When I was little, one of my Uncles said: You can't eat atmosphere.

My opinion of the food & service? 5/5 stars. A+. Service has ALWAYS been great. Prices are reasonable. Lots of great sandwiches to choose from. Never had a hot sandwich, but every "cold" sandwich has been great. Today's bean & cheese burrito w/chicken was... average. I will continue to have lunch at Summers.

Parking: Looks like there's PLENTY of parking spaces. I parked my tractor-trailer on Via Del Campo today. Didn't want to disrupt anyone's "flow."“

“This location is very conveniently located near the 56 freeway exit in Rancho Peñasquitos in the Von’s shopping center. It’s in a corner a couple doors down from the new Planet Fitness gym, right next to the Optometrist.

I’m not exaggerating my family orders from here once a week. We usually place it on the app which is easier for us but my parents have ordered in person and they say it can be busy but the line moves pretty quickly.

As someone whose favorite meal is a sandwich, I genuinely am obsessed with every iteration of a sandwich. I’ve ironically never had the Philly from here but I hear it’s yummy.

My mom is a vegetarian and I eat mostly plant based. Ingredients have to be fresh for especially a veggie sandwich otherwise it’s just a sad experience with no flavor. Every single time we have ordered from here it’s 9/10. Very friendly staff, helpful, and they seem to be well staffed throughout the day.

Online ordering is seamless with little issues apart from needing to enter the security code every time which is pretty standard for a lot of apps for security. Never had an incorrect order.

Only issue and why it’s a 4/5 star is bc I like banana peppers and jalapeños, they add crunch and flavor but almost every time I get them, there is the end piece with the stem part that isn’t edible, no one wants that in their sandwich ruining texture harmony!

Besides that I think from their deli meats to their tomatoes that their ingredients are super fresh, sandwiches have a good amount of toppings to not be soggy, and the bread is decent. No comparison to subway in my opinion, Jersey Mikes is way beyond as far as quality and service goes!

Plus, they also have Miss Vickie’s BBQ which is maybe the best chip in the whole world!!! Seriously get this flavor it’s a flavor bomb 💣“

“Whoa!!! Absolutely awesome. I’m amazed as to how far the staff went to resolve my issue. I lost a battle to Christmas hours and ordered food this closed subway. Unfortunately, the system was still taking orders and customer support didn’t help at all to issue a refund. Today I go in to satisfy my subway cravings and explained the situation. Immediately, the profesional artist contacted the owner in an attempt to help me out. I was told the order will be canceled and I will be refunded! Cool! 2 hrs later, Justin had reached out to me with a wonderful solution, a heartfelt apology, and an explanation.“

“Definitely one of the better Subway locations I’ve been to in a long time. It was super clean inside, the staff were friendly and moving quickly, and there was a steady flow of customers. Have to emphasize the high level of cleanliness here and the very good service.

I ordered a salad based on the turkey sandwich, and added every veggie except pickles, plus olive oil and red wine vinegar on the side. It’s kind of small for $10.54 after tax (see receipt), but I was in a pinch for something as I forgot my main part of my lunch at home.

Overall the salad ingredients were really fresh, and once mixed, it tasted pretty good overall. With my three hard boiled eggs I brought from home, it was a pretty filling and solid meal.

I give this Subway a 4.33/5 stars (high for any fast food honestly) and definitely think it’s one of the better locations in all of San Diego city.“
