“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ma’s house in Poway, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best in the area. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. The food was outstanding. Every dish we ordered was full of flavor.“

“Great Thai food with wonderful service in a strip mall. Minimal atmosphere, although very nice. Lots of free parking and available close to the entrance. Lunch only on the day we were there. We ordered curry with brown rice, but two different curries. They flavored it perfectly with four different spicy levels to choose from. Delicious, quiet enough to enjoy a chat; fast, courteous service. Immaculately clean and friendly! We stumbled on this place after missing our turn, but we will definitely come back again. They do take out, but we dined in and enjoyed it immensely.“

“First time here, was pretty good. You get assigned a table; then you go up and grab your bowl to make your hotpot (at least a pound) . You can get a second bowl for skewers and hand it to the counter , I would recommend getting all your hotpot stuff first then going back for the skewers so its easier on your hands. Would go back again.“

“Came here for lunch with my mom. There was still plenty of parking at 11 AM. We were seated right away. Ordered the cold noodle soup and mom had the spicy beef soup with vegetables. Both soups were delicious. The bon chons were very tasty and fresh as well. A definite go to for good comfort soups.“

“Been THE go to place for me and friend for YEARS. If we want pho no one even asks which place, it's always pho cow cali, good prices(14ish dollars), large sizes and good mix-ins. Plenty of good options aside from pho as well, simply the perfect place.“

“ATTENTION YELPERS! I FOUND THE BEST ITALIAN FOOD IN SAN DIEGO!!!
Just Kidding...
Not Kidding...this gigantic national chain serving up unauthentic, sodium loaded and ultra processed Italian food isn't all that bad, and a great value! The unlimited soup and bread sticks is middle and lower class family's perfect dream, and my dream...I devoured 3 bowls of soup and 3 bread sticks before touching my entree!
$24.50 Tour of Italy...The Chicken Parmesan had a nice hot crispy breading engulfing the juicy tender white chicken breast. The lasagna was robust, flavorful, with great blend of sauce, cheese, and pasta. The fettuccine alfredo is exactly how you would imagine it. Great value overall considering the 3 bowls of soup I devoured.“

“I took a day trip to San Diego from LA with my two friends and this was on our itinerary as the main event.
I ordered the Large Combo for 3-4 people with 3 choices of meats. It was $89.99 and it came with a corn cheese, the choice of a kimchi or soybean stew, and a steamed pot egg. We got the pork belly, the pork jowl, and the abomasum (I had no idea what this was, but my sweet server recommended it!)
The abomasum was really chewy and I wish it was cut smaller so the chewy-ness could be cooked down into crispier pieces, but the pork belly and jowl were excellent.
I thought it might not be enough since we were all really hungry and also added a side of the LA Galbi Meal (beef short rib on a hot stone plate and lots of grilled onion) and it also comes with rice, soybean or kimchi soup.
We also got a ton of side dishes aka banchan such as kimchi, pickled daikon, fish cake, fresh chives with spicy sauce, soy pickled onion, and sesame oil bean sprouts.
You can always tell the quality of a place by their side dishes at Korean restaurants and although it's not AYCE, the banchan here makes you forget about that and just enjoy the quality of the ingredients you're getting!
Everything was soooooo good and the portions were great!
We ate all the meats and were too full to finish all the banchan, but we kept telling each other how amazing the experience was as we were eating.
The servers are so amazing and would constantly come and check on our grill and replenish our sides without us asking. I love the hospitality and presentation of this restaurant so much.
The only thing I will say to look out for is that you may have to wait for parking and it depends on the busyness of the plaza (since they seem to have a bunch of great food businesses all in one) and it’s a small parking lot. Other than that, be ready to have such a good time!
If you're a local and haven't had SongHak, you're definitely missing out and need to try it! If you're not a local like me and have to travel 2+ hours for it, then I still say it was super worth it.“

“First time trying Szechuan House and will be coming back. The Szechuan garlic beef is very delicious, we ordered an extra order to go. The salt and pepper squid and salt and pepper tofu were also good. We are very satisfied with our meal and the attentive customer service.“

“Good experience for first time. Got take out. The eggplant with pork is spicy which we were warned about and I loved it. The beef with scallion and garlic pepper sauce isn’t scallion but the sauce had a richer flavor flavor than expected which was enjoyable. Overall, very happy and will return.
Just hope it’s consistent.“

“First I just want to say that it is not necessarily expected for Chinese service staff to be really friendly or accommodating, especially to white English speaking people...not because there is any intended rudeness, but because of language or cultural differences when it comes to restaurant etiquette, etc.
Having said that, the two waitresses that were on staff today were so nice and attentive and thoughtful. We loved their vibe.
This was my first time trying proper authentic Sichuan food after doing a ton of research on what to order (years of research technically, watching tons of channels on YouTube that cover this style of food), and although not every single item was made exactly as it might be traditionally made (the Fu Qi Fei Pian didn't have tongue, heart or tripe for example...it only had the thin slices of beef flank), I found that everything was very close to how it is made in China, or exactly as it should be.
We had the following (See pics with captions), and I recommend everything besides the stir fried potatoes (maybe there is a better way to get them than we did):
1. Mao Xue Wang
2. Shao Bai
3. Stir Fried Potatoes with vinegar
4. Fish & Tofu Mala (not sure of menu name)
5. Fu Qi Fei Pian
5. Special Sweet Rice Ball Soup (Dessert)
Everything tasted high quality and truly awesome. The portions were gigantic and definitely intended to be family style. We went crazy and spent $100 for the two of us, with drinks, and still had so much food left over that they had to put everything in a big cardboard box lol.
Oh and the weird looking fish eyeballs/egg soup looking thing is so strange but so lovely. We asked for a dessert and we were thinking we would get some kind of small piece of Chinese dessert like they do in America and other countries, but instead they brought out a steaming hot bowl of something I can barely describe (see pictures), but it was genuinely awesome and such a new experience for sure. Highly recommend trying it. You'll just have to see for yourself.
Can't wait to go back and try more. They have a gigantic and intriguing menu.“

“A very nice Japanese Yakiniku style restaurant (beef, vegetables, chicken or others that you grill on the table).
They have a good selection of different meat and meat quality. All was excellent, and you can really taste the difference between the different quality levels.
The staff were very friendly and professional, and provided excellent service.
I really liked the nice, cozy atmosphere, with individual booths and wood paneling.
Definitely a fun place to come to when you have that craving for tasty yakiniku bbq!“

“The pho was hands-down some of the best I’ve ever had—rich, aromatic broth that was perfectly balanced with just the right amount of spice. The beef was tender and flavorful, and the noodles were cooked to perfection, soaking up all that deliciousness.“

“The food is amazing, after I found this restaurant it became my go to place for Chinese food! It is a popular place and their small staff can get overwhelmed sometimes, and cause a wait, but it is always worth it!
I highly recommend stopping here if you are in town, if they are busy, that are worth the wait!“

This is a Hidden Gem+ first time here and already loving it.
Very friendly staff, very very clean, and the atmosphere makes you feel like I'm in a very expensive place.
The food was awesome, the coco shrimp was really good, the mixed fried rice was AWESOME, the beef noodles is good while it's hot. The spicy dumplings... Yeah that was very spicy but good.
Over all, yes I recommend this spot to anyone.“
