“I just saw this place and the owner on iiMPCT MEDIA. The owner was so delightful and friendly. He talked and talked about how he roasts his own beans for his two store and you can tell it is his passion. When you love something the way he does, you know it is going to be perfect or he won't sell it. The shop looks amazing, clean, and nice to be in. Order a cup to try and then buy a pound or two. They sell by the pound and will grind it for you if you dont have a grinder. Hopefully they start selling online soon, but he did say that he mails out coffee to regular buyers all over the country. Call up and ask, maybe they will mail you some too.“
“Went here for a coffee and pastry. Was please to learn the owner roasts all the coffee here. Their bags of coffee seem pretty reasonable priced, maybe a bit low. But the brewed coffee I had (I think they call it Golden) did not excite me at all. It was a pretty basic cup of coffee, really. It was towards the end of the day, so the pastry I had was a bit hard. “Found this place randomly and it is definitely a hidden gem! Service/staff were great and attentive. Inside was neat with a cute/unique style. I would say it's perfect for study sessions and/or coffee dates. Drink: I have never tried honey lavender with my matcha but the staff recommended and it did not disappoint. “I loooove Sunnyside! My fiancé and I typically come here on saturdays and always really enjoy it. The service is great, the restaurant is cute, and the food is fantastic. I always say this when we're there but I feel like what makes Sunnyside so good is that it doesn't taste like restaurant food. Ended up buying a small bag of Snickerdoodle coffee in a small bag and fired up the Moccamaster and home the next day and it was very flavorful. You will love La Costa Coffee Roasting!“

“First time patron and it took a little time to find it. It's off the main street towards the back. There are multiple coffee places on this street and almost gave up. We finally found it and glad we kept found it. The customer service was great as was the coffees and pastries. I'm a no frills coffee person. Black straight up. My pastry was fantastic and delicious. “We were walking around Encinitas on a Saturday morning and came across this gem. We walked inside and were instantly greeted. The cashier was so sweet and patient while we looked at the menu and ordered. I ordered an iced matcha latte and my boyfriend got a flat white. Both drinks were good and came out fast. Limited seating outside but it wasn't really busy. We found a nice high table outside and sipped our drinks while we people watched. Perfect for coffee dates and studying! “My message to the business owners would be to stick to the thing you're best at (the snow ice) and really make it shine, like making a build your own snow ice special or add special things like matcha or red beans, instead of trying to stretch the menu and do things that would end up with alright results, especially for smaller kitchens. I really think that this place can still shine due to the creamy and milky perfection of the snow ice, and I see there's so much potential to cater to a gen z/tiktok geared audience. Right now it is limited to a small number of non-customizable items, but new bowl shapes, waffle sizes, and other asian favored toppings would be an absolute game changer. “These are some of the best donuts on the San Marcos....actually in North County. I stick to San Marcos/Escondido area for donuts, but Crispy's really is a treat. These donuts might be some of the fluffiest that you can find. Even the next day they were still super soft. They have a really good variety of donuts readily made. Our favorites are the chocolate, crumb, maple and cinnamon rolls. All the donuts we had were delicious. They even have some tasty looking cronuts too, but I still have not had those yet, Depending on the time you show up there is ususally a short line, unless its that price 8-9am hour on the weekends. They are quick and friendly, with some space inside with some tables to chow down your donut. The store is in an older shopping center of Rancho Santa Fe, but that doesn't really matter since the donuts are A-grade. We come in from the opposite side of San Marcos, and they are worth spending the extra gas to get these fluffy donuts.“

When my daughter had to come home from college during Covid we sat outside when we needed an escape from the suffocating atmosphere of being home all the time. She took her sketchbook and drew a picture of the setting of us sitting underneath the 805/5 freeway, with the Coaster train in the background. It was kind of a depressing scene, but suited the "times". We joked that the location is so bad, it was good! No question, the coffee and pastries and service compensate for the weird location.“

“Very cute boba tea place located in La Costa Town Square. Walked in and saw a good amount of small tables to sit at and a couple iron tables outside as well. The menu was on the wall by the front counter/register. Made it easy to decide what we wanted while we waited our turn to order. There was also a self-service kiosk by the entrance as well-which we initially didn't notice. There's a good amount of various drinks, offering only one size, and price is comparable to other boba tea places. There's also a case of baked goodies at the front counter as well. The girl working was very nice and friendly and even though she was by herself, she was very efficient in taking orders and getting the drinks out in a timely manner. We tried the Creamy Jasmine milk tea with boba and the Taro Lover with chunks of taro. They were both very delicious! With the perfect amount of sweetness according to both our tastes. I also appreciated that the girl made sure I was ok with the taro chunks that come in my drink, the Taro Lover. All in all, we had a great first visit and happy we decided to try this place. We already plan to go back in the following weeks to try more of their specialties.“

“Claire's came recommended by a few locals so we made it a point to stop here on a weekday vs wknd to avoid the crowds. This place was packed on a Tuesday morning so that was definitely a good sign of things to come. Adorable house turned business with a spacious outdoor seating area in the back. We were on the cusp of breakfast and lunch and opted for breakfast because who doesn't love a hearty breakfast?? My friend and I split avocado toast and the parmesan risotta and honey cured bacon Benedict, which is officially one of my fave breakfasts I've had this year. Instead of a muffin, it's served on cream cheese risotto cakes which are literally the chefs kiss! The avocado toast was unforgettable, I think mostly because it was just served all by itself on a plate and just looked sad. They give you little cookies when you pay but honestly forget about them since we were so full.“
