“I stopped here out of curiosity to after getting items from Arizmendi and Los Cantaros Taqueria. I got the Honey Cake slice, chocolate baklava, and pistachio almond cookies (gluten free). Hatice the owner is very friendly and answered any questions I had. The Honey Cake was amazing, just the right amount of sweetness, not too much. I ate up the cake and baklava but shared the cookies. My family members said the cookies were great. I'll try to arrive before 12noon another time to get their breakfast items, like the egg in the hole. This will be one of my new go to places for food.“
“I used Simurgh to cater my husband's memorial of about 40 people. Everything about the experience with Simurgh and Hatice was stellar. She responded to all of my email inquires promptly, helpfully and with grace. Ordering and paying was as simple as could be. But the real star of this review was the food. Every single thing I ordered was fabulous - the food was fresh, well prepared, authentically Turkish, and completely over-the-top delicious. I was very appreciative of the awareness of the need for vegan and vegetarian options. And finally, there aren't many places in the States where you can get simit that are authentic. There was high praise for the food from everyone I spoke to about it at the event. Simurgh will have new fans. So glad this place exists and so grateful for their beautiful, careful, delicious work.“
“My partner and I are becoming regulars here because the food is delicious every time we come. We’ve had the baingan bhartha (my new favorite), palak daal, aloo mattar, biryani, and palak paneer. The food consistently tastes so fresh and flavorful. Plus, the atmosphere is warm and we always feel welcomed.“
“I absolutely love the experience every time I visit Chicago Pizza Twist in El Sobrante, CA with my family and friends. Not only is the food consistently delicious, but the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the place make it stand out. The commitment to maintaining high standards in cleanliness adds to the overall positive dining experience. The menu offers a delightful variety, and each dish is prepared with such care and attention to detail. It's evident that they prioritize the quality of their ingredients, and it truly makes a difference in the taste. The flavors are always on point, and the consistency is impressive. One of the aspects that keep me coming back is the outstanding customer service. The staff is not only friendly and accommodating but also knowledgeable about the menu, providing excellent recommendations. It adds a personal touch to the dining experience, making each visit memorable.Chicago Pizza Twist has become my go-to place for friends' gatherings. The inviting atmosphere, combined with the delicious food and excellent service, creates the perfect setting for a enjoyable time with friends. I appreciate the consistency in delivering such a high standard across all aspects of the dining experience. Kudos ?? to the team at Chicago Pizza Twist for creating a place that I not only love but also enthusiastically recommend to friends and family.“
“My friends hyped up Hotboys and they were right! All the food is delicious and has a kick!I found Hot was too much for me - it's drowning in pepper powder that overwhelms the chicken. You think you're fine for a minute, then suffer for the next 10 minutes. Medium Plus is much more restrained and flavorful for me, and is far less powdery. For reference, I am on the mild end of pepper enthusiasts, and authentic ghost pepper is overwhelming for me. Spice levels can vary, and it was much milder when I visited again in 2024.The food options are varied and delicious. The breakfast burrito is generous and filling, but can feel greasy. The sandwich has cole slaw that perfectly balances out the grease. The mac n cheese is excellent, with a unique cheese flavor and good texture. And the etouffee is a nice change-up with a mild kick. There's just a typical Coca Cola soda fountain - I'd love craft sodas like Blaze Pizza has.Staff were very helpful and let me try a hot nugget to discourage me (they were right). Most people like the dark meat sandwiches, but I prefer the tenders. At my most recent visit, I was disappointed by the atmosphere. There's only outdoor seating and a persistent whiff of vomit and decomposing trash.“
“1/11/24 - Me and my girlfriend both got the Chicken benedict, and it was fantastic. We try to come here once a year (from San Diego) and sometimes 2 hour detour just to come to Cracked and Battered for their delicious Benedict. A trip to San Francisco is not complete without stopping here for this Holy Benedict. It is the best one we have ever eaten and we go out of our way to find breakfast restaurants with Benedict's to try to find one that matches Cracked and Battered's deliciousness. Seriously, it is the best egg dish I have ever eaten. Customer service was good but if it could've been bad it'd still be worth it.“
“Amazing food, ambience, and service! Its a bit pricy, but the portions are huge and could feed 3 ppl. I had leftovers for days lol. The service is very nice here as well, the owner and staff always greet you with a smile and make sure you are satisfied with the food. Highly recommend!“
“I tried the lamb with cheese and sour cream, the Tropical grilled vegetables with cheese and sour cream I also tried the vegetable with cheese and sour cream. The grilled lamb was very good with a nice flavor, succulent and tender meat, I added the red sauce that was sweet and tangy, the Tropical vegetable was okay but was a little bland and was about the same as the regular vegetable. The vegetable s were nicely grilled still firm.“
“Well , to start off I do believe I was the first of the day, so you guys really need to clean the grill a lot better !!! the meat tastes burnt!!! other than that the flavors were there , the pickle the lettuce, yogurt sauce, the dill. The pitas were perfect 10 outta 10 . WAYY SMALL PORTIONS!!! S SIGN OF THE TIMES I GUESS...“
“Had a great dish of lamb biryani, and a peek into Oakland's Pakistani community. While I was waiting for my order, I was offered a taste of another group's goat curry, and learned a word or two of Pashto. If you're the only one there, you'll find the atmosphere to be standard-issue convenience store, but if it's full of Pakistanis, it's like a short visit overseas.“
“Great food and lot of vegan and vegetarian options ! Nothing bad to say. My only gripe is… when you spend $35 for great food, and you’re dinning in, would be nice not to eat in disposable silverware … they charge us $1 to use compostable silverware and dishes … what about using reusable regular dishes and silverware ? Come on… they have to clean dishes for the cooking equipmentDefinitely kill the vibe / atmosphere and doesn’t look as appetizingMost people order to go anyway so I doubt it would be lot of extra work …“
“My wife and I went to Pizza Twist, Hercules with a friend who is gluten intolerant. We were delighted to have ordered two Gluten Free Pizzas (Cauliflower crust). One was Veggie Tandoori Paneer Pizza Twist and the other one was Chicken Tikka Masala. These were the most delicious pizzas we had in a long time. The new owners were very friendly. Superb service - Pizzas was made quickly. Will come back again.“
“Two men had one naan and one rice and two curries. The price was reasonable and it was delicious! The chicken curry had a very Korean taste and the lamb had a very strange taste. If you want a more familiar taste, try chicken.I arrived at 9:50 PM and it was nice to be told that I could eat here and leave.Since it's self-service, it's nice to be able to add a tip as well.A place worth stopping by if you are nearby!!“
“Ordered on the kiosk. At first glance I was a bit confuse looking at the menu cuz it is ginormous! There are so many options for meat lovers, veggie bellies and vegan folks. It also seems a bit pricy while ordering regular to large but sandwiches were MASSIVE! half would def fill you up.You can get a sub for somewhat cheaper at subway but this ain’t nothing like that. You can taste the quality of ingredients. I got the Patrick star with no ranch and it was incredibly tasty. French bread paired really well with it. Hubby had the chicken little and he devoured it and got the other half for the next day. He’s a very picky eater and he gave me props for finding him a lunch spot haha No pictures were taken this time cuz we ate it up too quickly but definitely will take some next time.“
“It was raining and I was craving samosa & chai so we got samosas as an appetizer, they were freshly made and crisp on the outside & the filling was hot and spicy inside. For our mains we got butter chicken with rice and garlic naan, it was delicious. The color of the butter chicken was so red I thought it would be crazy spicy but I guess that’s just the food coloring because it wasn’t. Topped dinner off with mango lassi- probably my favorite part of the whole meal. Thick, flavorful and decadent just the way I like it. We got food delivered through DoorDash and it was packed up really well, no leaks or spills. The samosas came with tamarind and mint coriander chutney. They sent a little flyer saying they’re a small business and we can order directly instead of DoorDash/grubhub. I would like to get chicken biryani next time when I order directly.“
“1st time. Not familiar with this cuisine but it was so good. Had the beef plate with humus, salad, a bread, and rice. Everything fresh and well seasoned. Ate the humus with the bread and this humus was so good compared to store brought. Going back “
“This restaurant has been open for almost a year now, and it's one of my favorite places to get some simply made takeout. I absolutely love their fried chicken and I know you'll be a fan once you try it yourself. I personally enjoy the 5 piece chicken tender meal with a side of their house-made barbecue sauce. It's a masterpiece!Their menu is quite large with lots of diverse options. The cheeseburger & fries combo is solid, but don't think this is a one-off burger shop. These guys come through with Philly cheese steaks and crispy/spicy chicken sandwiches, chicken wings, waffle fries, even quick snacks like a 100% beef corn dog or a samosa. And best of all, ordering takeout here is a very inexpensive option. I definitely get plenty of bang for my buck eating here! You must come here and try their food!Everyone that works there is very nice and accommodating to requests. These guys are also fantastic cooks who know how to prepare their food consistently every time! These chefs are exceptional! All said, this restaurant is definitely tops in my opinion. I usually drop by here once or twice a week to score some nosh. If I have only one issue, it's that the entrance & lobby of the place is very narrow and the floor is ramped & uneven. I use a walker, so it's difficult for me to traverse around. Overall, I highly recommend this fine eatery. I cannot recommend it highly enough! Whether you're looking for a quick breakfast, something solid for your lunch break or just a Dinner for One, you won't be disappointed with choosing Halal Burgers & More!Dietary restrictions: The "Halal" says it all! Their beef & chicken options are sustainably slaughtered with the utmost care & respect. No pork is served here.“
“Never ate here previously but decided to order Door Dash. I honestly expected the worst but I was mistaken!! My Surf & Turf burrito with added chicken & shrimp was !!!! I also had the homemade chips (tooo greasy & added to the bag straight out of the oil is not cool) which came in a grease filled paper bag but they were delicious with my rice & beans ( once I got it home & seasoned it). Definitely coming back!Suggestion: Drain your chips prior to put them in a bag for Your Customers & season the Rice & Beans! They are currently too bland!“
“March 2023: This gem of a place is still here, post pandemic (if there is such a thing), and their service and food is top notch! Please drop by and show some love, chicken salad comes with a lot of protein and is fairly priced for the area.Old review: I had a hunkering for Mediterranean-style cooked meat and fries. This place hit that spot.Located in FIDI on Battery (between Pine and Battery/Bush intersection). Went at noon and the place was busy but not overwhelmingly so. Slight wait for my food after ordering but that's expected at noon.Food was good and reasonably priced. Ordered the Greek plate with chicken. Came with a bunch of fries, meat, a big dollop of tzhiki (sp?) sauce and some pita bread. It was good.I'll be back to try a salad next time. 3.6 stars that rounds up to 4 stars for the service.“
“I've eaten here 3 times. EVERYTIME the food has been delicious. every time the service has been friendly. No, it's not "fine dining". Don't expect it. They have this cauliflower dish that tastes like spicy chicken wings. I don't know how they do it.“
“I had Dal and Afghani roti (bread) along chutneys that came on the side. The food tasted really good and similar to Indian food in terms of taste and texture.I also tried the yogurt drink (Dough) - Afghani version of Lassi. It was rich in taste. Overall, good experience, wish I could meet the owner in person and thank him personally.Vegetarian options: There are a few appetizers and Entrée dishes that can be made vegetarian, sides are mostly vegetarian.“
“This place honestly has the best Falafel wraps. As an Arab who grew up in the Middle East, I find that I can be too harsh of a critic when it comes to Arab food, but I only have good things to say about Shawarmaji. I am so pleased to have found them. Their Falafel wraps taste so fresh and are FULL of delicious flavor. Hands down the best. And I am shocked and pleasantly surprised by their super great prices, especially for the bay area.“
“I got a free slider on Drakes Birthday… thank you Drake. I ordered a reaper (the spiciest level) and it was not that spicy. It was so amazing and delicious though. This place is tied with my other favorite fried chicken place: Love Burn in south SF. For anyone who is afraid of the reaper, trust me it’s not spicy. Love Burn has spicier chicken at level 2 (first date) than the reaper. Dave’s Hot Chicken and their slaw is so so so good. Amazing chicken. Very great chicken and seasonings. LOVE ITTTTT“
“Charming, good portions and delicious food. The service is always with a courteous smile and very friendly and helpful.Vegetarian options: Many delicious vegetarian optionsWheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp AND charming covered outdoor seating. But you might need to ask them to help setting plates and set ups because they have a self service for set up dishes, water glasses and silverware.“
“Great place right off hwy 80 to grab some food to go (no indoor seating. ) I got the stir fry chicken akdah (similar to karahi chicken) with bell peppers and onions. Be sure to ask for the green chutney. I thought it was lacking in flavor. I added some Indian pickle to liven it up when i got home. It came with 3 large pitas. I'll be back to try the beef Sharma plate.“
