“The food is delicious but lacks consistency. I've ordered the same dishes multiple times and often it's different portions, different packaging, different cuts of chicken etc. The okra soup was super watery today and not slimy the way it should be. I will continue to order because everything else I've ordered has been great. I just wish they still had larger portions for the $25+ plates and a little more consistency.“
“For sure the best, with two caveats 1.in Alameda,2. standard take out pizza. Pizza is a very complicated equation, lots of factors involved (dough, sauce, toppings.) This is the best I've had in Alameda. The family that runs this place also have a handful of Afghani kabobs which are quite good.“
“Our go to is usually a chicken, and lamb gyro wrap, which are always delicious and generous portions! The falafel is also really good here! Parking can be thin because it's a busy area, but totally worth a visit. Customer service is great, prices are competitive for the area, and the quality of our food is always good!Wheelchair accessibility: All area appear to be accessable.“
“As I was waiting hangrily 45 minutes after I placed my order and 30 minutes after the ETA on my phone this painting soothed me until I ultimately received what I drove over an hour to get. Yes, it's that good. Please order with your phone, not in person. It makes things operate more smoothly for everyone and decreases the wait time for the crack. I mean food. Well I don't know what they put in their chicken, but full disclosure you might start experiencing side effects if you don't get your fix. Consider yourself warned. It can become a pricey habit and there is no rehab to get you off their sauce. Have you twitching like Tyrone Biggums for a "Sando with training wheels".“
“My friend recommended this place to me. The place is fairly simple and clean. You order at the counter. There are a few tables for you to dine in, but I find most people order to take out.I like the Simurgh kebab sandwich. The kebabs were delicious but what stood out for me was the Turkish bread. It's not like anything I've had before. It is grilled, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It is probably my favorite sandwich bread now. They make them all from scratch.I've only been there twice, but it's a place I would return again.“
“My partner and I are becoming regulars here because the food is delicious every time we come. We’ve had the baingan bhartha (my new favorite), palak daal, aloo mattar, biryani, and palak paneer. The food consistently tastes so fresh and flavorful. Plus, the atmosphere is warm and we always feel welcomed.“
“Let's get straight to business... how was the food? 10/10. I got the Golden Burrito with steak. It was amazing! I let the staff know it was our first time trying it and they went into detail of how to enjoy it best with the different sauces they have available. It's also in a good safe part of town and provides clean indoor seating. Definitely coming here more often to try different items on the menu.“
“I tried the lamb with cheese and sour cream, the Tropical grilled vegetables with cheese and sour cream I also tried the vegetable with cheese and sour cream. The grilled lamb was very good with a nice flavor, succulent and tender meat, I added the red sauce that was sweet and tangy, the Tropical vegetable was okay but was a little bland and was about the same as the regular vegetable. The vegetable s were nicely grilled still firm.“
“Amazing food at a reasonable price with generous portions. The interior has an industrial aesthetic, but it's comfortable and the staff are very friendly here. They have a great selection of Gluten Free options and they have the best shawarma fries in the area!Dietary restrictions: Plenty of Gluten-Free options here!“
“I came across this place while I was door dashing. The menu was unique and the sandwiches sounded good. I got the Tom & Jerry on a Dutch Crunch roll. It came exactly how I ordered it and tasted amazing. There is plenty of sauce on it which I love. The bread was nice and soft too! I wish there was one closer to my house. I'd probably eat here more often. Definitely gonna order again.“
“Fiji Fry House is between a Salvadoran bakery at the end of the block and a car repair shop across the street. The shop has an American and Fiji flag at it's side, the only decor visible. The food differs from other Fiji eats i've tasted. The food here has it's distinctness and it's influences from Indian food. Offerings: appetizers, curry tacos, Fiji fried chicken, curry rice box, ala carte, desserts, drinks... Drill: order by phone or at window, pay, food cooked to order. Eats: bhajia (9.75) -similar to pakora. Distinct in having thin flour coating, not a thick batter. 4 pieces of grounded spinach, veggies are moist throughout not dry. Has a chutney dipping sauce. Lamb & potato curry (19.75) -crunchy papadum wafer with flavorful vegetable pulao rice of fresh kachumber, pickled veggies, tumeric to soak up masala gravy. -lamb & potato in tomato and spicy masala gravy adds a spicy kick. Very fulfilling. *couple of tables nearby to dine on. **many entrees have a fusion theme combing Indian & Fiji cooking techniques..da best of 2 cuisines.“
“Definitely the best Indian food in all of the Bay. It's mostly a to go place, but there is some seating including a nice outside patio area. If you come on a Saturday, it's next to all the galleries so view art and eat well. It shares the location with a wonderful Jamaican chef. Try the stuff naan, best daal takika imaginable (made fresh to order) and the Rogan lamb. This will become your favorite Indian restaurant.“
“Great place for burgers. Great hot food fresh coming out of the oil. Small to dine in eat on the go in your car or wherever. Don't get scared of the environment. You will be ok if you can stand your ground. Best prices for a good meal for family.“
“This place is one of my favorite in the Bay area. The quality has been remarkably consistent over the past year and every dish I've tried has been very good. The khichari got me through COVID.I am really not a fan of picking up from here because it's always packed with delivery drivers; making parking difficult and talking to the staff quite frustrating. My mitigation strategy is to wait at the window that's to the right of the front door so they see you when they come up.Even though the above is frustrating, the food is always worth it. If the price was lower, I'd eat here more often.Vegetarian options: Lots of options!Parking: It's almost always packed with drivers. Just find the first spot nearby and walk.“
“I've eaten here 3 times. EVERYTIME the food has been delicious. every time the service has been friendly. No, it's not "fine dining". Don't expect it. They have this cauliflower dish that tastes like spicy chicken wings. I don't know how they do it.“
“My babies dad likes to take me here sometimes for something quick and good ,their fried fish ,shrimp ,and chicken is good very flavorful they’re greens are preening good too especially to be vegetarian they are very flavorful. I’ve had their bean pies and their sweet potato pies. Pretty good as well. Definitely will help you if you’re having a fried food craving.“
“Honestly 10/10 for everything! The food is amazing, my go to is the lamb haneeth or chicken mendi. The service is very nice, the waiter always greets you with a smile and is extremely kind. The atmosphere is one of my favorite parts. Each table has its own booth with a tent like cloth for privacy. Its a great place for family and friend gatherings. Highly recommend!“
“Never ate here previously but decided to order Door Dash. I honestly expected the worst but I was mistaken!! My Surf & Turf burrito with added chicken & shrimp was !!!! I also had the homemade chips (tooo greasy & added to the bag straight out of the oil is not cool) which came in a grease filled paper bag but they were delicious with my rice & beans ( once I got it home & seasoned it). Definitely coming back!Suggestion: Drain your chips prior to put them in a bag for Your Customers & season the Rice & Beans! They are currently too bland!“
“I had never a fans of sandwich, for me all of them tasted the same, till finally I bought sandwich from Crave Subs that it changed my mind lol. It tasted delicious, they also serve halal meat, so it's a plus point for me. The price is also pretty reasonable and the portion is huge. The thing that I don't like is the place, they only have small room and some tables, so it's difficult to find a place to eat especially if it's crowded.“
“I've been coming here since last September. The host quickly got to know me, and now knows exactly what my order is, down to the two containers of green salsas. The food is the BEST Mexican I've ever had. If I thought they were open on Sundays, I would make the drive just for breakfast.“
“Well , to start off I do believe I was the first of the day, so you guys really need to clean the grill a lot better !!! the meat tastes burnt!!! other than that the flavors were there , the pickle the lettuce, yogurt sauce, the dill. The pitas were perfect 10 outta 10 . WAYY SMALL PORTIONS!!! S SIGN OF THE TIMES I GUESS...“
“Food is incredibly good, the place is darling with a really good vibe…beautifully decorated. The owner and his son were the staff and they were so much fun…it was a really fun and unique experience. Support your local delicious small business!!!“
“I drop in to Marhabah Cafe whenever I'm in downtown Oakland. The food here tastes great. I've tried a few of their sandwiches and one of their plates and have been pretty happy with everything. Their falafel and hummus are top notch, and the staff are all friendly. Pictured is the chicken pesto panini because it's the only thing ai remembered to take a photo of.Otherwise, make sure you try their Arabic / Turkish coffee. I crave that pretty consistently and this is one of the few places who make it well.“
“I've been meaning to try Dave's Hot Chicken for awhile after seeing their LA and Denver locations! Went to a show at the Paramount Theater and walked over to Dave's. The menu is pretty simple with their different order packages (Sliders/ tenders with sides). Went for the number 2 which comes with 2 sliders and a side of fires. It's cool you can pick two different spice levels for each slider! Got the Mild and Hot to try ($16 total). The Hot is bearable and you won't be dying for water (it's Extra Hot or higher that will get you to that burn feeling!) You can also order some of their sauce and honey to add on to your sliders and it's bomb! The fries are also cooled perfectly (and you can immediately dig right in without it burning your fingers or tongue). I'd definitely come back here!“
“Had a great dish of lamb biryani, and a peek into Oakland's Pakistani community. While I was waiting for my order, I was offered a taste of another group's goat curry, and learned a word or two of Pashto. If you're the only one there, you'll find the atmosphere to be standard-issue convenience store, but if it's full of Pakistanis, it's like a short visit overseas.“
“Good food. Consistent in quality. Very nice staff. Plenty of dining space and options on the menu as well as weekly specials. Food is fresh and served hot. It's a order at the counter and seat yourself place. Free delicious tea with dine in service. Parking can be hard sometimes but not terrible. A true staple in the community.“
“Came here this morning looking for two pieces of chicken. 5.99 with biscuits a d the small jambalaya rice. The manager hooked me up. Thank you for the amazing quick service. I love how fresh the chicken is. Super crunchy. I highly recommend this for a quick meal!! You wouldn't be disappointed“
“I've had this place bookmarked for 3 months and finally got the chance to go. After reading reviews, I went early and started lining up at 11:40am and there was already ~20 parties ahead of us. Once they opened, someone came out with brisket samples. It took about an hour til we were ordering. I've never had Texas BBQ so I can't compare but the meats were so good!! The brisket was fatty, smoky, and well seasoned. The beef back ribs were a little smokier also delicious. The bbq sauce and pickled onions made for the perfect bite, along with the sides. The nasi goreng was a pretty standard fried rice that paired with the meat but I wouldn't get it again. The slaw is refreshing and was very peanutty but I wish it was a little more acidic. The rendang plate was a miss for me. The brisket was very dry and it was too smoky for my liking for a curry. I LOVED the kale curry side in the plate though. I don't like kale but I would eat it all the time if it was always cooked like this lol. I suggest getting the belado plate to try a different meat. I would definitely come back and wait an hour again and try the rest of their menu. :)“
