“Been coming to here for years. The pho soups, all the vermicelli, the rice plates, the appetizers, and the beverages are always amazing. I am so happy this place is still here till this day.
The broth is always so good in their soups.“

“Food is good but the lady who serves the food and who is at the cash counter doesn’t seems to care much. The lady who cleans the table smiles and talks in polite manner. The restaurant has a plenty of sitting capacity and it’s like L shape, so you have to walk to other side to pay at counter. If they improve the service and the payment method then it think it has a potential to do very good business.“

“Excellent, fast service. Delicious, filling (vegan!) Veggie noodle soup with Tofu and house made spicy sauce. More vegan options available that I will definitely come back for including Banh Mi and Vermicelli 😋
Vegetarian options: They offer Vegan Spring Rolls, Vegan Veggie Noodle Soup, Vegan Tofu Vermicelli, and Vegan Banh Mi options. The house made sauces are vegan too!“

“Pho was great! Order was ready quickly compared to another spot I had tried to order from. I love having the option to select beef broth with my veggie pho! The soft fried tofu in the veggie pho was so good!! The grilled shrimp and pork spring rolls were delish too! Will definitely be back - nice to have so close to my home!“

“With prices going up, this is still a local staple at 6 something a sandwich. He packs my Bacon Bahn Mi with a good amount of meat! No cutting corners here :)
When I used to work in the area, I'd get their lunch plates they have wrapped up in the open fridge. Viet BBQ Chicken, Fried Egg Roll, and rice noodles are my go-to.
They also serve noodle soup, which a friend of mine way back said tasted like her mom's, very good; Chicken Pho.
Parking: If lot is filled there's always plenty of street parking“

“Can’t decide between egg rolls or spring rolls? Enter the Cha Gio Cuon…egg roll in spring roll. GENIUS! My companions had the chicken soup and fish banh mi, both also excellent. Their broth is super flavorful and the price is right. Owner and crew are very attentive.
The restaurant is beautiful with modern murals of Bay Area life, but eating near sundown was quite unpleasant in almost all tables due to west facing sun. Simple drapes/blinds would help.“

“I went here after work! I was famished! I was so happy w how cute their decorations are! The music was lovely! Sauces chili oil so good! And i cant believe they have Banh Khot! As its a bit labor intensive. Ive only had it at Tayho. Well this is their mamas recipe! Its a crispy coconut crepe w shrimp. They gave me fancy butter lettuce shiso and mint wraps for each one! I feel so pampered! Its now my favorite order! Noodle soup too is perfect for winter rainy days. Parking is a lot and super convenient location! Thx so much for feeding this famished lady. ?

“Best huge and fresh banh mi on the West side of the lake! They take card and offer healthy juices, smoothies, and amazing breakfast wraps or Vietnamese banh mi. Stopped by for some late lunch and was so glad I got the grilled chicken banh mi. So flavorful! Their smoothies are all amazing blends, good consistency. Small size is 16oz and it's perfect for one. High quality and healthy, plus affordable! Fresh and Best is def on my go-to list“

“Five stars across the board - if you don't know about Kim's now you know. Food is always SO FRESH like the veggies all look like they were picked that morning. Very tasty, most people probably go for the banh mi's but don't sleep on the salads esp. pork which are VERY well portioned all around and a lot of protein. My personal favorite though is the combo noodle soup which is like a more delicately flavored and smaller portioned pho. It's like pho that you can eat in a reasonable time and you're not like dripping in head sweat at the end. I frequently seem to want Kim's on Monday, when they are closed, which is my only complaint. Friendly quick service and good value as well.“

“Their pho combo is great for introducing someone to tripe and tendons or for converting someone that typically hates it. It seems cleaner there or that they trim off the less enjoyable parts. The soup is aromatic, not greasy and clear.
Rice plates and rolls are great.
GET THE PANDAN WAFFLE.
They also have a Street Fighter 2 cabinet.“

“Staying at the Claremont this week, found this little hidden gem and it is amazing. I call it hidden because even though I could see it on the map I'm bad at navigation and had a hard time finding it.
I only got the original sandwich as I have never had one before. It was absolutely amazing and I hope to stop by again before leaving. Their menu prices seem unheard of in this area and they were slammed busy when I went for lunch. They did move fast though.“

“I always get the chicken sandwich. It's the best one. Sometimes I'll order just the chicken for dinner, about $3.50 each, if I don't feel like cooking a main protein dish at home. Bring cash or there's a extra fee for using card.“

“I tried their Mango Salad and highly recommend it to open up your appetite and start your meal!
I had their Special Combo - Pho Dac Biet, which includes rare steak, well-done flank, brisket, tendon, tripe, and meatball noodle soup. The broth has a unique taste, leaning towards the sweeter side compared to other pho I've had before. It's definitely worth a try! The portion is huge, and the price is really decent and affordable.
There's a small parking lot behind the restaurant available for customers!“

“Step right up, order and pay first, menu on the wall - fast service, delicious, fresh ingredients, Spring rolls and egg rolls done just right - the meat is marinated and sweetened and perfectly grilled, the pickled carrots, green onion, daikon are all still fresh and nicely rice vinegared. Great lunch place, we'll be back to try the Banh Mi next!“

“This was my first visit, and since it was a rainy day, I decided to try their pho. There’s something comforting about a warm bowl of soup on a cold, wet day. The soup had a rich, deep flavor that was enjoyable, but not remarkable. For comparison, my favorite pho spot is still Pho Vi Hoa in Palo Alto, which I feel has more balanced and complex flavors.
Ordering here was straightforward. You place your order at the counter, and the staff delivers your food to the table. The service was efficient and friendly, which added to the overall experience.
For starters, I ordered A2: Fresh Shrimp Spring Rolls. They were fresh, light, and paired well with the accompanying peanut dipping sauce. As for the main dish, I went with the Rare Steak Pho, adding extra noodles for $2. While the broth and rare steak were satisfying, I realized the portion of noodles was already quite generous without the extra. If you’re someone with a hearty appetite, you’ll likely find the regular portion sufficient.
Next time, I’ll skip the extra noodles and focus on the base dish. It’s a solid spot for a comforting bowl of pho, but I’d still rank it below my go-to pho spot in Palo Alto.“

“Excellent place!! I had the grilled pork banh mi, it was absolutely delicious. The meat was really well marinated with lemongrass and fish sauce, by the taste of it, and it wasn't too fatty. The banh mi had the right amount of pickles and cucumbers, and the service was quick and amiable. I intend to make this a regular spot for me.“

“We have loved this restaurant for over 20 years. The quality and flavor of the food is exceptional. My husband is Vietnamese and we have lived in Vietnam so we know what we're talking about. I love to order Bun Thit Nuong... which is marinated grilled pork over vermicelli rice noodles with fresh herbs and salad. My husband loves their soups. Today he Bun Ba Hue, which is a spicy beef soup from the Hue region of Vietnam with rice noodles.
This restaurant does not have an affiliation with the other one by the same name next to Lake Merritt.“

“I love Mint Leaf! What the food is like:The pho is good. Flavorful enough to not be boring, and plain enough that it is comfortable to eat. I like to get the special rare beef pho.The shaking beef plate might be my favorite when I want to be spoiled. It's basically a plate of big chunks of well-flavored meat (garlic, onion, salt, probably other flavors too). Love the sizzling sound it makes while it is served. The spring rolls are all really lovely, too. They have a lot of crispy textures stuffed into them. Most of the dishes are very flavorful. Some of them are also rich.Online ordering: I appreciate that Mint Leaf recently incorporated the ability to use Online Ordering through GrubHub and other platforms. I love being able to schedule a pick-up time. I used to order via telephone and would ask for extra jalapeños on the side, and they would sometimes be forgotten (totally okay!). Now that I am ordering online, though, there's a printed receipt that shows the request for extra jalapeños. It seems like this has been making it easier for the staff to ensure order quality. The person who is usually behind the counter has been kind enough to double-check that the jalapeños are there when they see the receipt, without me even having to ask.Thank you, Mint Leaf!
Vegetarian options: The vegetarian options that are available are all so flavorful. There's a few spring roll options and a tofu dish that is tasty.
Kid-friendliness: Kid-friendly atmosphere.“

“One of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants! Great food, great service. Totally clean and good place to eat, not really a place for "atmosphere" but you wouldn't expect it to be. Get the combo rice plate with the pork hop and shrimp cake!“

“We went when they opened at 4 pm on a Saturday after a show. Not only were they opened, but they seated us promptly. This is a nicely laid-out restaurant in the Rockridge area. They have a large vegan menu, and the food is authentic. I bit on the higher side but likely comparable to the neighborhood.
Vegetarian options: They have a large vegan selection with choices of "beef", "chicken", and "pork belly". You can't go wrong with any of them.“

“They have great asian food, I’m chinese-american and find it very comforting. I got the mapo tofu this time but I also like their eggplant tofu. “Get a fried banana! Its so good especially since theyre made fresh. Crispy on the outside and soft silky on the inside. What a treat!
Its a small spot, and mostly a grab and go for japanese inspired sandos, vietnamese noodle salads, and drinks like peach tea and green thai tea! There is also a small hot menu that is made to order at the front.
Egg salad sando was creamy and rich, peach tea refreshing, and green thai tea was a delicious treat.
I come back for the fried banana but always look forward to trying whatever they have in stock because its all really good!“

“Can't rly give atmosphere 5 stars because it's takeout only but the wife and I love this place! Banh mi is excellent, as are the bowls of whatever. I don't think there's anything the owner chef woman can't make well. She used to run 3 restaurants! Also she is an angel. Go there for the owner chef woman if nothing else. Also egg rolls and crab rangoon are yummy.

“It was a late Saturday evening after a special event. I was kind of lost and wasn’t sure stopping for food was a good idea yet hunger had made a loud announcement while driving. A sudden frustration came upon me which forced me to turn off in an exit ramp and to search for grub. my usually goto place In-and-Out was super busy during this time. I saw the sign on a street and continued to head towards this Pho restaurant.
Service was excellent . The food came quite quickly. I ordered a pho noodle soup with beef and brisket and a side dish of shrimp wrap. Noodles were chewy with basil and bean sprout on the side. The side dish was the shrimp wrap with vegetables.
Overall, it was a quick meal with quick service. Prices were reasonable. Family came and ate at this restaurant as well.
Couldn’t find time to take fotos. Grab grub and left fairly quick.“

“Nothing on the menu disappoints, and there are a number of dishes that aren’t exactly common in Vietnamese restaurants in the US.
The grilled pork is really something else, though. Trying it for the first time was like a great first date; I couldn’t stop thinking about it.“

“Reflecting on my son's first birthday and baptismal reception held at this venue last September, I am incredibly grateful for their exceptional accommodation of our dietary needs. Despite the event's delay in reviewing, I couldn't overlook their outstanding service. With a table reserved for 30-40 guests, I had pre-ordered the food as requested by the restaurant. They truly exceeded expectations. Every dish, from the appetizers to the rice dishes and soup, was simply exquisite, eliciting mouthwatering delight from all attendees. Despite the challenge of parking in the area, the food alone made it worth the effort. The service was nothing short of amazing, and their flexibility in accommodating last-minute changes due to unforeseen food allergies among our guests was commendable. I am sincerely appreciative of their dedication to ensuring a memorable experience for us and our guests.
Dietary restrictions: Flexibilty with food allergy, just ask them for available options.“

“This was my first time at Co Nam, and I have to say the restaurant has a cool vibe and great service. I ordered the pho 🍜, and while it was okay, it didn’t quite stand out for me. That said, I’m curious about their other dishes and will definitely give it another try soon. Overall, the atmosphere and service make it worth revisiting!“

“Great lunch spot if you work in the financial district. It's everything you'd expect from an Asian mom and pop shop. Quick, delicious, decently priced food. Even during the lunch rush you're able to be seated and served quickly as long as you don't mind sitting with other single diners.
To those complaining about the service, it's clearly not a fine dining restaurant, so y'all should keep your expectations down and you'll be good.“

“Great neighborhood Vietnamese Food. I had the BBQ pork plate and was impressed by the quality, however I felt that the portion size was a little on the smaller end.
The atmosphere feels like an old school hole in the wall Vietnamese restaurant.

“The food here is great. But, I've reached the limit on what my pocketbook can Justify for a bowl of broth. I started going here pre-pandemic, but since then the cost has increased twice. The cost is almost double what it was. I had the small seafood pho with tip was 23.00. Really not a lot of seafood either to justify it. Go, enjoy your meal. But expect to pay more then you would expect.“

“This is most definitely one of the better Vietnamese restaurants I’ve been to lately in the East Bay. Not only is the food well prepared and delicious, the prices are very reasonable. The beef pho noodle soup stock was flavorful, and the grilled pork bahn mi sandwich’s were great! If there was a weakness, the Vietnamese iced coffee was good but could be better. Our overall impression was we would most certainly come back.“
