“I was feeling kind of sick and really craving some pho and this was the only place near campus, I’m so glad I went! The pho here is really delicious I came back the next day to get more. I’ve never been a big fan of pho but this was game changing. The workers entertained my different questions about the various dishes and checked in with me to make sure I like it. Highly recommend :)“
“The last home of affordable high-quality food in Berkeley! I love the chicken banh mi, and get it over and over. Has a bit of kick from jalapenos and a ton of cilantro, so omit those or ask for less if they aren't your thing. Tried their pho recently and it was really good. There are nice outdoor tables, and eating a big bowl of pho in the greenery and fresh air was lovely.“
“I love this place, the workers are very nice and thorough, the food is great. I can't remember the young lady's name but she works on the night shift she is exceptional and I went there this past Monday and the young man was also great. Thank you for great service!“
“Another word of the contender for Pho, vermicelli combination bowls, and other Vietnamese delights. In the old location of bacheeso's, the brightly lit interior and glass windows give a lively feel to a place that has obviously been discovered by the local business people.Definitely worth a try if you're in neighborhood of Dwight and San pablo.“
“An absolute gem in the heart of corporate buildings and a bougie grocery store (Berkeley Bowl) nearby. It's been awhile since I stopped by Mint Leaf for some lunch, and boy did I miss their spring rolls so bad. I'm an SJ foodie, which means that I've had my fair share of Việt food back home. There's no place that I've visited near home that sells spring rolls as well as Mint Leaf does! It's unique, fun, and so tasty! Whose ingenious idea was it to incorporate a crispy tempura shrimp in the center of a spring roll and pay homage to California'a wild obsession of avocados by incorporating them into the rolls themselves?! I usually feel healthy eating spring rolls, but the rolls at Mint Leaf gave me a mix of healthy and indulgent with the crispy tempura shrimp edge and abundant leafy green lettuce and avocado in their spring rolls! I had dined at their Oakland branch (also just as tasty and please say hi to Tony for me) when I was barely starting middle school. It's wonderful to know that this mom n' pop shop survived the pandemic, especially during these rough economic times. Their garlic noodles with scallop and shrimp is still as good as ever. All the shrimps were gigantic and the scallops were plump and juicy. My partner had their paella claypot and really enjoyed it! I unfortunately did not sample, so I will leave it to him to review that dish heh. We also shared a side of crispy egg rolls and a nice basket of sweet potato fries with a curry dip! Overall, service was superb and all workers were kind and courteous. The atmosphere in the restaurant was also very calm and the space felt so open and free with all the natural lighting from the big windows. If anything, I wished my workplace was nearby. This is a great place to grab a bite with a coworker~ Berkeley Bowl is next door too, so you can also shop for dinner after eating here. 10/10 recommend~ I can't wait to return to Mint Leaf again!“
“Incredible experience, delicious food, fantastic atmosphere. Big thanks to the entire Vanessa’s team for making tonight’s event a special one. It couldn’t have been better! We had a group of 20 for a birthday party. Vi created a special menu for us. From the salad to the prawns, the garlic short ribs, to the garlic crab noodles, everything was impressive. They were even able and happy to accommodate some dietary restrictions.Again, thank you to the entire Vanessa’s team!Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian and pescatarian optionsDietary restrictions: They were cognizant of dietary restrictionsParking: Free street parking after 6p“
“This is my type of place. It’s not fancy but sometimes that a clue to good food. In order a pork Banh Mi and a small cup of broth. Man that was delicious. Best part? $10 for a nice sized sandwich that fills you up. That’s so hard to find in the Bay Area now. Because the sandwich was $10 for that Banh Mi it makes ordering a side even more easy on the wallet. Next time I’ll go for the pho!“
“We really enjoyed the food, wouldn't eat it as a weekend treat but found it hearty and healthy. Things we would definitely order again:Spicy pork with rice: although the broccolini has some very tough stems and was not the most enjoyable, my partner felt it was tasty and nourishing. He ordered it with double pork but wouldn't double next time because the portion of meat is enough for a dinner. He liked the vinaigrette sauce, which is not spicy, both of us enjoyed it. He preferred pork to chicken. Chicken bowl: the chicken was generally tender although with some gristly pieces. It has a marinade that is quite sweet, and the meat is cut in long spearlike chunks that are much more than a mouthful, so eating it with a fork is awkward. I didn't like the sweetness of the peanut sauce and it had an unpleasant aftertaste for me, maybe the herbs? But overall would eat chicken bowl again.Tofu bowl:Great fried tofu with lovely taste and texture. I liked avocado as an addition in all the bowls. The citrusy sauce was pleasant although very tangy, not as good as the vinaigrette to my taste. I also tried the Nam Nam sauce, which tastes strongly of mayonnaise, has a little kick but not too spicy, and was great as a dressing on the greens. I left cucumber and pickled vegetables out of my bowl and regretted it because they are both really good, cucumber is in thin julienne strips and pickled vegetables were tasty (mostly carrot and radish I think). I also loved the added omelet. Things we might not order again:The garlic noodles were a little sweet, not that exciting or craveable and tasted a little too much of raw garlic (we got them without the furikake topping, maybe they are better with furikake)The house FreshRoll was nothing very special, we preferred the bowls (to be fair though, we ate it the next day so maybe it's good when first made!)All in all a solid choice for healthy dinners.“
“I look forward to visits to Berkeley and my lunches at Camille Restaurant.I noticed improvements in service and quality of the food with the new management.I enjoy the many menu options and have not been disappointed with any of my selections.“
“Got a bánh mì chả lụa (they call it a district 3 ? lol) and it was good! Normal and what you expect from a banh mi shop. What’s interesting about this place is their very lavish colorful names based off of areas of Saigon and other places in Vietnam for what would otherwise be pretty normal banh mis so it was a bit funny as a Vietnamese person but yeah. I also got the coffee which was quite good. Prices though… I mean it is Berkeley what can I say.“
“Looking for some good ole Noodle Soup comfort food and read the reviews about this place so thought I'd try it... I got the Wonton Noodle Soup with Egg Noodles. It came with a very generous amount of Shrimp & Pork Wontons with Sliced BBQ Pork on top with Bok Choy. De-lish!!!!! I also order the Egg Rolls but for $14 for 5 which came out to roughly $2.80 each and I thought it a bit pricey (maybe because I did a delivery order) but they were good! Over all this place is a little more pricier than other Vietnamese/Pho restaurants but the quality of food is superior! This place is definitely on my repeat list!“
“I can see why their wall is covered in awards for having the best Pho in town - it is incredible! They also have gluten free + vegan pho, so there is something for everyone, and the servers there are super sweet. This is my new go-to for Pho, 10/10 would recommend!“
“Bestie and I thought we could give this place a try! We always walk by this place when we get our usual drink fix at MIND Coffee. My friend got the Combo sandwich and I thought I'd give the Five Spice Chicken sandwich a try. We ordered it through DoorDash to pick up due to the usual long line of students ordering. It was fast and quick, but very small place. I usually only see two or three people working in there so please be patient due to it being small. My friend thought it was pretty decent for her combo sandwich; I thought the five spice chicken had a pretty good amount of flavor too. I still love me the Cam Huong chicken in East Oakland for their sandwiches though, but it's always good to try new places. I'd give 4 out of 5 for their sandwich. Service was okay; I assume it's because they have a lot to do and many people were waiting for their order.“
“We came here for dinner and had a good experience. We ordered a Thai iced tea, special combo beef noodle soup, spicy beef noodle soup, and dry stir fried beef chow fun. Everything was delicious, and the service was quick and attentive. The prices are reasonable and the portions are large. Overall a good experience!“
