“We discovered The Study Wine Bar after warching the Richmond Marina 4th of July fireworks celebration on July 3, and it turned out to be a fun surprise. We only planned to have a glass of wine, but ended up staying for karaoke! While the wine was average, the atmosphere was fantastic—lively, welcoming, and full of energy. It was a great place to relax, enjoy the music, and spend the evening. We'd definitely come back for the fun vibe.“

“I have coming here for ages. Knew the past owners and met the recent owners today. The food is always fresh and delicious. I love their morning croissant sandwiches, the French dip sandwich. Today I’m having the pastrami sandwich with Swiss cheese on rye bread with potato salad and rootbeer.“

“This was one of the most enjoyable meals I’ve ever had and I would come here every day if I could. I loved watching the kitchen work while solo dining at the bar with my new friends Julia and Matthew! Their recommendations were absolutely wonderful and I adored chatting with them about all the things that make this restaurant and city so stellar.

I showed up 10 minutes before opening and was third for a walkin table, so get there early or make a res! I ordered the bread and butter, scallops and caviar, tomato tart, omelette Boursin, and pan Perdue and would not change one thing. The food quality, service, and ambiance was truly second to none and I’ll be thinking about this meal for quite a while! An absolute must if you’re in SF for any amount of time❤“

“My new favorite spot! I love coming here during the day when it’s quiet to read a book or catch up with a friend. The staff are really kind and always make the best recommendations. They’re knowledgeable but not pretentious at all which is really refreshing. The wine itself is really good and reasonably priced, they have a couple more expensive options but I usually order the $13 sparkling rose and it’s everything you want a sparkling rose to be.“

The citrus cake was amazing and the Gnochetti’s texture was also amazing. The tiramisu also looked incredibly good but unfortunately they sold out, so I’d definitely recommend the desserts as well.“

“My daughter took me and the hubby here for our Thanksgiving celebration since she couldn't come home (Sac) for actual Thanksgiving, we went to her. This was a night I won't soon forget! Having a nice meal with our daughter was a treat, the service was amazing and the food....OMG! Every bite of every dish I tasted was so so delicious! “I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. I am a business owner a few doors down and I wandered in with a friend after work one night about a month ago. We were met with such incredible warmth from the staff and the environment itself, even without a reservation. We sat at the bar and were greeted by Josh, only to find out later that he is the owner. He made excellent recommendations on everything from our drinks to dessert. The bar didn’t feel isolated from the rest of the restaurant and guests, but rather was lively hub frequented by kitchen and serving staff and warmed by a smoldering wood fire. The coziest. We swooned for the poke appetizer, complete with house-made toasted, but not crisp, blue corn tortillas. The pork shoulder tacos—also to die for. I have to say though, that the star on the sidelines was the beans. I honestly didn’t know I could feel this way about beans…but I digress. Josh bounced around from table to table all night, never letting a single ball drop, making every guest feel like *his* guest. A pot de crème sealed the evening in perfect bliss. I’m back a month later with the same friend, eating different and somehow even more incredible entrees: ribeye, halibut and a rhubarb crisp for dessert. I scarcely ever take the time to write a review as I prefer to vote with my $ and my feet, but I simply couldn’t eat here again without taking the time to sing it’s praises. Eat here.“

“Walk 10 minutes from MacArthur BART and you’ll find paradise in the form of a wine bar. Zach (head chef) and Emilio (line cook) are formerly of Verjus in San Francisco, and let’s just say we followed them across the bridge for a reason. Their expertise and attention to detail are evident in every bite — or sip! ;) On top of this, the service is impeccable. Our waiter, Nico, was a real gem! Thank God he moved from SoCal! Anyways, don’t take my word for it… you’ll just have to try this place for yourself!“

“OK, so in theory, I could be a little bit biased, because I live around the corner and this is a very convenient place to get a very good glass of wine and a very, very good small plate of food. I say small plate because that’s generally what I have. And they have some of the best in San Francisco! I am regularly somehow shocked at how good the wine curation is and also how good the food is! I don’t think there’s anywhere else on Union Street or on Chestnut Street and possibly even on Fillmore Street that has anywhere near that combination. Go there now! Also, I t’s a great place to chill and enjoy the ambience and the music, very well done. Tim has done an amazing job, and Joe and the rest of the crew are also fantastic.“

“My partner and I stopped in while visiting for the weekend and had a wonderful time. The space is charming, with two floors, outdoor seating, and a cozy atmosphere that reminded us of a wine bar you’d find in Portugal.

The wine list had a great range of prices, and we enjoyed both the whites and reds we tried. The tinned anchovies and the jamón and soppressata were also delicious and reasonably priced. The bartenders were friendly, welcoming, and happy to help. We’d absolutely come back the next time we’re in town.“

“Super cute wine bar just across the street from Cafe Zoetrope. We were there for a calligraphy class but my daughter was feeling ill so we sat outside for a bit. The sommelier was kind and empathetic; he offered us waters and was talking to her to make her feel less embarrassed. While we were waiting, he even helped a lady park her car. So while we didn't have wine or food, the service is top notch and we'll go back!“

“How many restaurants in the Bay Area have an average rating of five on Google? This is the most understated and absolutely best restaurant in Marin. Why? What matters to me is the combination of unique and innovative food, service, and atmosphere. You can get one or two of these many aces, it's hard to find all three. Add to that that you get to sit at the counter and watch the chef prepare all your meals. And that there's only room for ten people every night. Chef Lance and Yo explain everything and the time just flies when there. We made the mistake of not ordering the caviar sampler. But when I saw how it was served to another guest, I knew I had to have it next time. You will not be disappointed.“

“A popular spot for a reason!! The vibe is very fun. Sometimes you can get dancing on tables on weekends - it depends. Seats fill up fast.
One note: they could make the outdoor area more lively so more people are inclined to sit there. Right now there are some great seating options but the vibe pales to inside.
Maybe add some lights? Low volume music? Water station?

“One of the best dining experiences I have had in quite some time. Server was super nice, they were on it the entire time. Food came to us quickly and was arguably one of the best pizzas ive had in SF which says alot. We got the Nduja pizza, the veggie plate, the corn pasta was unreal good, killer gamay wine, best brussles ive had in my entire life. Cheesecake blew us away. Im telling you- this is one of the best gems SF has to offer.“

“Just a warning, this is the last place in SF that doesn’t yet accept Tap-to-Pay/Mobile Payments. Also, their ‘suggested tip’ amounts on the receipts included Tax in the total. The place is nice enough & their cocktail and wine is good, but the dealings feel a little sketchy.“
