“Three friends and I dined at Rangoon Ruby in San Carlos on a quiet Thursday evening (except for a wild 49ers game that was being celebrated in nearby establishments!). We chose all vegetarian options, and everything was plentiful and delicious. We had the tea leaf salad, (very light and refreshing), the garlic eggplant (deep purple and delicious without being gooey), Burmese pad tai (pungent sauce on perfectly cooked noodles) and veggie kabat (a mix of vegetables and tofu stir-fried with paprika, masala, tamarind, jalapenos, mint leaves, tomatoes, onions and cilantro) . We also had two orders of coconut rice. The salad plus three main courses was plenty of food! We thought everything was delicious and comparatively (in this neighborhood!) reasonably priced. We were treated very respectfully and were allowed to take our time.“

“My fiance (now wife!) and I got married in October of this year. We had an intimate ceremony at SF City Hall and were in need of a chill, laid-back venue to host our reception at. We're both huge beer lovers and naturally, breweries were among our top choice of places we wanted to host our gathering at.

We visited quite a few different breweries and ended up booking our reception with Devil's Canyon Brewing Company. These guys specialize in private events (they're actually only open one day of the week to the public, the other days are all for private events) and it shows. Orestes, Agathe, and the rest of the team at Devil's Canyon were highly professional, accommodating, and friendly, and made our big day extra special.

Our guests raved about the venue, specifically how intimate it felt given our headcount of about 50 guests. We rented our the barrel room which gave our event a private feel despite the rest of the brewery being open to the public, and we even got to use their AV to play a slideshow and our own music. The brews were fantastic and the food trucks on-site were a hit, giving our guests tons of options and generous portion sizes.

Overall, we are extremely happy with how our big day turned out and can't thank the folks at Devil's Canyon enough for being a part of it. Thank you again to Orestes, Agathe, and the rest of the team, and we hope to be back soon!“

“One of the two best taprooms on the SF peninsula. If you know this one, you don't need me to tell you the other one, which is about 2 miles away. Like that place, AA has been getting better and better for the last decade or so. No food here though, it's all about the craft beer knowledge and vibe. Can't recommend a place more highly. Staff, music, and TVs showing classic 70s-90s films when there's no relevant sports on. This is the best there is .“

“Had an incredible lunch at Impasto in San Carlos! I tried the *Bufalino Panini* with prosciutto and mozzarella, and it was simply outstanding. The flavors were perfectly balanced, with the prosciutto offering just the right amount of saltiness, and the mozzarella was fresh and creamy. What really made it special was the homemade focaccia – light, airy, and perfectly crisp. You could really taste the authenticity and care in every bite. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the service was excellent. If you're looking for a true taste of Italy, Impasto is the place to go. Highly recommend!“

Everything on the menu is delicious, but my top picks are definitely the fish tacos and the goat cheese with pistachio so unique and full of flavor. And their steaks are always cooked perfectly and taste amazing. The atmosphere is cozy and family-friendly, and the staff are always welcoming and kind. Every visit has been a great experience. “I live at the top of the road and I passed this for a year. I thought it was there because we have had a ton of construction on the road. Thought I’d give it a try… oh sweet baby Jesus I’m glad I did. The tortillas are made from SCRATCH!!!!! The meat is not grease the flavor is a chefs kiss amazing. Tacos are $3 a piece, that’s all I’ve tried but the my dying to try more. They have burritos and tortas. Def give this truck a taste you won’t be disappointed.

For dinner I had the Cappellaci (housemade butternut squash tortellini), which was delicious. My friend had the Pennette Vodka, which she also enjoyed. Their deep-dish pizza was just amazing. The addictive texture of the cornmeal pizza dough can only be found here!
