“One of the best sandwiches I've ever had in my life. This place knows exactly what a sandwich is supposed to be. It's filled with all the veggies you expect and you pick the protein you desire. I'll tell you this much... anything you order is going to taste good. We had thai tea and mango drink as well as egg roll and sesame balls with bean curd. So good!!! It was so good i couldnt finish it... but i ate the rest later in the day.. JUST AS GOOD..“

“I got a cup of elote while visiting Old Town SD, and this location is convenient! The corn elote seems to be grilled beforehand and kept hot throughout the day, but you still get that toasted flavor. Definitely try your corn and mix it before you squeeze your lime in, though. Mine was much, much tangier than expected.

The elote is hot and ready to eat almost immediately, and the service is fast and polite. The area is also decorated beautifully from the architecture to the stones on the floor.“

“Hidden gem of a taco shop!! They use fresh tortillas for their tacos and burritos and let me tell you, it really sets them apart from your usual SD taco spot. The food is fresh and doesn’t have that old-reheated taste that some others do.

“I’ll start off my review with saying great customer service . It shows the owner has put in a lot much of his/her time to train their employees properly . Every time I walk in I am always greeted and never rushed when ordering . I personally love there fruit waters and making my own chip bowl. All prices are decent and affordable so they fit everyones budget . It can get busy from time to time but totally worth the wait . I definitely recommend visiting this location to grab something for your sweet tooth or salty craving:) . Most importantly this location is always clean and sanitized ! You will never see a mess.“

“Wonderful, just so wonderful. Had a large party of 8 and everyone was thrilled with their orders which ranged across the whole menu. The fish tacos were a personal highlight, as was the quesadillas and of course Cali burrito (both huge). No lard in the tortillas or in the beans (corn oil) is much appreciated. This place really could fit the bill for neighborhood taco shop but then goes above and beyond and elevates the quality. And the prices are super reasonable.

Vegetarian options: Tortillas and beans are vegetarian and no lard. Rice has chicken stock. Staff are very conscious.

“I have been coming to this location for over 20 years, since my job is across the street. But that is coming to an end as we move locations soon. This particular Sombrero and its staff has been excellent, food superb, and after 20 years I'm just now finding out about their secret menu of chicken flautas and more was shocking. The place is always clean, even though I take my breakfast or lunch back to the office. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this location.“

“Wow! Unexpectedly amazing taco shop!

Came here on a whim when getting my vehicle serviced in the area. Usually only get Asian food in Convoy area, so this was a first.

First impressions: No curb appeal, standard taco shop where you “get it & go” and don’t expect much as far as seating, decor, etc. They have a cute outdoor patio.

Upon walking in: Fun, welcoming, bright, colorful & attention to detail! Very clean with a great use of space. Impressive artificial flowers and wall adornments for this kind of place. So cool! Covered patio too & a variety of seating options.

Menu: Extensive! They have a few hand written notes with additional items(like your average shop) but most of their menu is digital. The plates include photos & prices are quite reasonable. There’s a kids menu. Couldn’t tell if they offer alcoholic beverages but there appears to be a bar & their logo includes a man with a beer in his hand.

Food: I was here for breakfast but craving rolled tacos. They’re so much better fresh! Ordered 3 w/ guacamole & cheese. Served on a reusable plate with plenty of toppings. I tried 4 different salsas, all of which were delicious 🤤 wish they had pico, but that’s not a regular offering at most salsa bars.

Ate at a cute table within the indoor fully covered & sealed patio that let in lots of light. The tacos were crispy as can be with flavorful meat. Guac was more of a guac salsa, which I enjoyed. Tons of flavor & nice consistency. Almost too much cheese, if there’s such a thing 😆

Can’t wait to return with the family & try more menu items!
