“Came here for a friend catchup and we got seated and had a reservation beforehand.
Good:
- The ramen came out very quickly - I got the classic ramen bowl
- The portion size was good - I was very full by the end
- A nice place to catch up - it's got japanese izakaya vibes and more dimly lit
Bad:
- The soup was really salty so it felt like it was unhealthy to drink too much of it
Overall this was a solid place to have an extended catch up and the ramen was quick and tasty.“

“Got seated right away as a group of 4 at 6 pm on a Friday. Assume a 15-20 minute wait though. The signature ramen with the chicken leg is delicious! Split a spice ball on the side with someone. Creamy chicken broth and a nice flavor with the spice ball addition!“

“This restaurant l restaurant has a handful of minor flaws for their higher prices.
We started with their happy hour appetizers: TSK fries and fried cauliflower. The fries tasted great with the seasoning, but it kept falling off so most bites were plain. The cauliflower was well-executed but uninteresting. We also tried a sake flight, which was excellent and showed a lot of variety.
For mains, we ordered dipping noodles and spicy miso ramen. The ramen has excellent ingredients including lucious pork belly and a perfectly done egg. However, the broth was salty and oily enough to slightly upset the stomach. The dipping noodles were very high quality with flavorful broth, but we generally preferred the ramen on our return visit. The pork rice bowl is an amazing value at $10 and is a meal in itself; it's my new favorite dish. Most mains are $22.
The first time service was very attentive, verging on overbearing. The second time was better. The interior atmosphere is beautiful, although it gets pretty loud when busy. Finally, we were disappointed to see that all of their new promotional signs are made with AI.“

“Love the energy, love the food, love the staff!! I absolutely enjoyed the whole experience.
The restaurant is cozy and comfortable with great Ramen and awesome people!
10 out 10 experience.
5 stars all the way! ❤️
Parking: If you come after 6pm, it's free street parking. Depending on the day of the week will depend on how easily it will be to find a space to park.
I parked 3 blocks away and walked here.
Still worth it!“

“This was amazing! My vegetarian ass was so hungry. It’s hard to find a place that serves vegetarian Japanese food, let alone vegan!! We had the tantamen and it was amazing!! So flavourfull ❤️🙏✨ It’s popular though! Expect a line, but you upfront. So once you are through the line you’ll have your food quick!“

“I've only ordered the beef paitan ramen here because that is the restaurant's specialty and they do it well. The broth is rich and flavorful, the noodles are perfectly chewy and the bowl is topped with thin medium rare slices of tender beef. The restaurant is pretty small with communal tables and counter-type seating. The place fills up quickly during meals times so if you're going with a larger group of 4 or more, you may want to consider going right when they open.“

“Good food. I wish there was a little more broth, and I'm not a fan of thin noodles (personally), though the noodles were still good. You can add extra broth/noodles/toppings for +$5/ea. I like the location it's at, because it's right by the Embarcedero BART, making it a good option for lunch before the Pier.“

“The best part? It feels personal. The husband-and-wife team (Yoko & Clint) talk you through the dishes with warmth, not pretension. The restaurant is tiny, the kitchen looms in front of you, and that closeness makes eating there feel like being part of something rare.“

“Nice in an antiseptic way for s place called Rural. Limited menu, but a nice relaxed spot between North Beach/Chinatown 1/2 way up the northeast side of Nob Hill. A nice spot to have a bowl of ramen, and a good place to catch up with someone that doesn't mind plastic menus and slurping“

“Amazing service! everyone is super attentive and the ramen is to DIE for!!! I got the pork deluxe (the second one down on the menu) and it’s genuinely the best ramen i’ve ever had! The pork belly is super tender and, though i got medium, it’s not spicy at all and the perfect food to send you into a coma 🙂↕️. We will be visiting again!“
“A hole-in-the-wall with ambience and moody lighting, serving tasty food behind a medieval-looking door. This restaurant always looked closed, but I finally decided to open the door today to order the Chashu Braised Pork Belly, the first item on the menu posted on the window, to go. Inside were beautiful hanging lights and an assortment of plants that gave the place a cozy atmosphere. There was only one other customer who was about to leave at the time I entered. After ordering and paying over $8 ($7 +taxes), I asked the cashier if it was always that empty and she said no. Apparently, there used to be lots of customers before the pandemic, but since it was a barbeque place, they needed special tables. It's a small restaurant with a small storefront, and next to a parking lot, so there isn't really room to build a parklet or put tables outside.I got my food about nine minutes after ordering, in a medium-sized paper bag, which felt a little light. When I got home, I excitedly opened the bag to see what was inside. It was three pieces of pork belly (which, by the way, is one of the cheaper cuts of pork) inside a tiny aluminum container, with a piece of arugula on top. I was a bit underwhelmed. Each piece was about the size of two Chapstick containers side-by-side. The pork belly was very tender and basically melted in my mouth. It was some great pork belly, and because it was protein and fat, it was filling. Still, I expected more. This is a nice hole-in-the-wall that most people walk past without thinking. The service was excellent and the food was delicious, but I expected more than three pieces of pork for the price. However, based on other reviews, the ramen is probably fantastic. I really want to give five stars, but my experience was worth four stars.“

“It’s a small and cozy izakaya, perfect for dining alone or with a small group of 3–4 people. I ordered appetizers from the special menu. First up: Mentaiko Zucchini (so delicious! The very first bite was refreshing, followed by the rich umami saltiness of the mentaiko. A little dip in Karashi mustard made it even better—definitely a must-try! Highly recommended).
Next was Kuramaebi, tiger prawns deep-fried tempura style and topped with tartar sauce. After that, I ordered Ba-ra Kushiyaki and Kobe Kushiyaki (served 2 skewers each). I especially enjoyed the Kobe—it was grilled perfectly and went really well with Shichimi Togarashi. If it had the same green onion topping as the Ba-ra, I think it would have been absolutely perfect.😋“

“First visit to Hinodeya and thought it was pretty good and had a fair price point. Opted for the creamy vegan ramen with extra iniri tofu which made the plate really filling. Loved both the vegetable gyoza and shishito peppers appetizers as well! While this place was satisfying, it was from better like someone else said than Mensho. That being said, this is a great runner up to any other bay area vegan ramen therefore I'll keep it in mind in the event I am ever needing a late night bowl [open until 1 am or 3am ]“

“Tried Miki Japanese on Balboa and it was a good experience. Friendly staff and efficient service along with a casual ambiance. The chirashi bowl had fresh fish with seasoned rice, nicely portioned and balanced. The salmon teriyaki and mixed tempura bento was also solid — the salmon was cooked well with a flavorful glaze, and the tempura was crisp without being oily. The bento sides rounded out the meal well. Overall, a good spot for Japanese food in the neighborhood.“

“I finally tried this place out after some years. I’ve wanted to for some time but they close early at 5:30. I usually eat ramen at night, too bad they don’t stay open for dinner.
I was pleasantly surprised that the Karamiso Ramen was tasty and satisfying. I’ll definitely go back again.“

“A cute and cozy Thai spot with friendly staff and fresh food. We ordered Pad Gra Pao, Thai fried rice with fried chicken, and Pad Eggplant. The chicken was flavorful, and the smaller menu focuses on high quality dishes. A solid find in the Richmond area.“

“I just moved back to the city not too long ago and the vivid memory of having bone marrow ramen popped up in my head. Before I went to the location over in the Sunset district. When I went to Google the spot, found out there was on SOMA. Went over there on my lunch break and it was just as amazing as before. I didn't grab the bone marrow add-on this time. Huge regret. However, still delicious. This is one of the ramen spots I'd recommend to friends to go to. Now that I know the SOMA location is a choice, I will stop by every so often to get my fix.“

“The ramen portions are large, I could split it into 2-3 servings & could barely finish it. The sushi was also fresh, rolls are drowned in sauce if you order one's with them. The skewers are also decent sized portions. When I went it's pretty empty. Server was attentive“

“I was actually jonesing for some good Japanese curry when we were searching for a place to eat.. I decided on Fumi because the Japanese curry before the ramen lol must be good if it’s first right? It was perfect and the ramen was really good too. I definitely recommend this place for doing “simply” delicious.“

“I grew up eating raw fishes that got fished out in the morning so my standards are maybe high here.
I took the Sashimi Chef's choice and a green tea. The decoration of the room and the plate were very beautiful and peaceful, the sashimi were ok+.
The slices were not perfectly cut so I had to manually separate them, and I got mostly fatty parts, I really prefer lean parts.
Overall, not very amazed by the taste but it wasn't bad.
Paid 55,6 dollar after tax.“

“reasonably priced ramen. The food was really good. The tonkatsu broth was excellent and went well with the pork. My daughter had the chicken ramen which was a little overcooked but still tasty. My other daughter had the veggie tofu with mild spice. Mild was still pretty spicy so avoid if your sensitive to spicy food. Overall we were pleased and will return.“

“My biggest regret is not knowing this place existed sooner! I’ve lived in the area for close to 10 years and while I’ve learned the neighborhood gems this one remained hidden. Prices are incredible, food is even better. My only comment is order the chicken katsu instead of the teriyaki, the teriyaki is good and worth the price but the katsu is too good for what it’s worth! I’ve tried all the Japanese curry places around, I love Volcano, but if I’m looking for a great meal, a good price, and a satisfying end to my night, the late hours and wonderful food of Xiaoyu is not just a place to settle for, it’s the one I’m hoping is open, and lucky for me, they usually are!“

“Absolutely fantastic. Meat was super soft and flavors were on point. It looks like a small shop but everyone in the restaurant was happy with service, food and music. “Bibimbap flavor was good, though spicy pork was not very spicy. Also, it could have been more food for the price. No free small plates like in other Korean restaurants, so an order of kimchi was extra. However, that maybe just for barbeque places which they don't have.“

“The usual wait time is 20-30mins always but if you go solo or as a group of 2 then wait time is ~10mins. I got the classic I think it was a solid choice but the lamb one because of the broth was so much better.
