“Really enjoyed the food here! The vegan ramen was packed with lots of different mushrooms, which I loved. We also tried the vegan Mac, which seemed a bit out of place at a ramen restaurant but was also good. Prices were good. Fairly busy on a Thursday night, would probably want a reservation on a weekend.“

“One of the best & true Japanese ramen joint you can find in San Francisco - hands down! I love the details they thought of into the making of every dishes that they served in front for you. Most of the dishes they made are often tied back to a story / reminder of other dishes that takes you back to the joy of home cooked meals. I also love Yoko & Clint - they’re so humble and such lovely duo, it’s always great to catch up with them even if it’s for a short period of time! I know it’s hard to find reservation here but keep trying! Definitely worth the visit!“
“This location is a stand in the back of a supermarket. The ramen is super salty and oily, a bit too much for my liking but the taste was good.
There was just one guy running the whole show when I went. Order on the kiosk.“

I will definitely be coming back here!
Went on a Friday and it was super busy so I’d recommend making reservations especially if you have a bit of a larger party“

“It’s a really nice place with delicious ramen. We had the chicken paitaan ramen and veggie miso ramen. Both were delicious. The paitaan was perfectly seasoned. We also ordered veggie Gyoza which was perfectly crisp and didn’t feel oily. Highly recommend this place for a warm bowl of ramen on a cold SF day.“

“What a fun airport hotel restaurant location! You're able to look right out on the airport, watching planes come and go. Service was absolutely impeccable. Cocktails were amazing -- creative and fun while being delicious and beautiful. (Only complaint is that the bar is upstairs and it can take some time to get a cocktail) Wine list is solid, with excellent choices at reasonable prices. Food was out of this world!! We had Shrimp Fried Rice, the Wagyu burger, and the Scallops. All were cooked perfectly and plated beautifully. We didn't leave a single crumb! Highly recommend eating here, even if you're not flying anywhere!!“

The food and vibe is hearty and made with love. No Reservations. Come over, put you name down, but you can enjoy wine or beer from a freat ludt inside or outsides as you wait. Shhh!!! Don't tell anyone else.“

“Wir waren zu zweit zum Abendessen dort und es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Wir sind zuerst dran vorbei gelaufen, weil das Restaurant eher klein und unauffällig ist. Die Ramen waren sehr lecker und reichlich. Es gibt eine vielfältige Auswahl an Ramen, darunter auch ein paar ungewöhnliche Kreationen. Der Service war sehr schnell und freundlich. Wir würden aufjedenfall wiederkommen.“

“4.4/5
soup was really good, and the spice complements well with the soup
the pork was a bit dry, and a bit flavorless
The noodles have a good bite, but they look white, as if no eggs are added? But it’s still delicious!
I didn’t expect such a good Ramen outside of asia“

“First time visit! Love the bone marrow so much and also the broth of soup is so delicious. Is unusual to find ramen with beef, but it is actually really good. The only thing I think should be improve is the cleanliness of the restaurant. I notice there’s a lot of dust on the wall. It really should be cleaned.“

The restaurant is cozy and comfortable with great Ramen and awesome people!
10 out 10 experience.
5 stars all the way! ❤️
Parking: If you come after 6pm, it's free street parking. Depending on the day of the week will depend on how easily it will be to find a space to park.
I parked 3 blocks away and walked here.
Still worth it!“

“Good ramen is easy to find. Great ramen is harder. And finding excellent ramen at reasonable prices in downtown San Francisco is a rarity.
This is the ideal spot for lunch or dinner and a hot bowl of noodles. The pork was deliciously juicy, the egg was cooked to perfection, and the Tonkotsu broth was very flavorful.
Service was quite good and attentive in both the upper and lower levels. Can recommend.“

“This is long overdue for how much I love this place. It's a quiet quaint little restaurant with some real flavor coming out the back. Granted I've never sat down to eat but it's your run of the mill "no frills" residential SF restaurant. The service is always friendly and quick. The food is where the hoopla is at. I'm not gonna scream and say best ramen in SF (though for me...personally...) This is genuinely my comfort restaurant. The protein portions don't make you question the price as SF will do to many. When I want guaranteed good meal on an off day or a rainy day, then I just go here. I hope to see them stay and if they desire to, expand. Please check them out if your on the fence.
Also very effective take out/delivery packaging of food. For some reason restaurants struggle with ramen packaging, though they make it so simple. This usually means I can enjoy my ramen and then whatever soup/broth I have leftover (I'm light on my broth) then I can make another meal the next day. Bless.
Parking: There paid street parking on Ocean Ave and free parking in the residentials surrounding. THERE IS NO PARKING/CURBSIDE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE BUSINESS.“

“I was today years old when i found out that tofu was a dessert. I added tofu to my order of spicy miso ramen and guess what? That thing did not look like the normal tofu i know and then it was as sweet as candy. Common, i know this can’t be normal, please give us the food we ask for in traditional way. If i go to a japanese restaurant i want to eat it japanese food not american. Everything else was great. Thank you“

“Quite possibly the best, most above and beyond customer service experience I may ever have in my entire life.
I placed a delivery order on toast and no delivery driver ever came to the restaurant to pick it up.
Waraku was closing for the night sooner than I would have been able to walk there and pick it up myself. Instead of what most places would have done and just refund the order and leave it at that; the manager, Scott personally delivered it to me.
The food was also as excellent as their customer service.
I sincerely can not reccomend this place enough“
“A hole-in-the-wall with ambience and moody lighting, serving tasty food behind a medieval-looking door. This restaurant always looked closed, but I finally decided to open the door today to order the Chashu Braised Pork Belly, the first item on the menu posted on the window, to go. Inside were beautiful hanging lights and an assortment of plants that gave the place a cozy atmosphere. There was only one other customer who was about to leave at the time I entered. After ordering and paying over $8 ($7 +taxes), I asked the cashier if it was always that empty and she said no. Apparently, there used to be lots of customers before the pandemic, but since it was a barbeque place, they needed special tables. It's a small restaurant with a small storefront, and next to a parking lot, so there isn't really room to build a parklet or put tables outside.I got my food about nine minutes after ordering, in a medium-sized paper bag, which felt a little light. When I got home, I excitedly opened the bag to see what was inside. It was three pieces of pork belly (which, by the way, is one of the cheaper cuts of pork) inside a tiny aluminum container, with a piece of arugula on top. I was a bit underwhelmed. Each piece was about the size of two Chapstick containers side-by-side. The pork belly was very tender and basically melted in my mouth. It was some great pork belly, and because it was protein and fat, it was filling. Still, I expected more. This is a nice hole-in-the-wall that most people walk past without thinking. The service was excellent and the food was delicious, but I expected more than three pieces of pork for the price. However, based on other reviews, the ramen is probably fantastic. I really want to give five stars, but my experience was worth four stars.“

“Very good food in a charming place.I enjoyed all the food that was served to me from the starters to the main dishes.Even small regular starters like the Edamame were really really good and tasty. I also loved the fried chicken starter, served with a nice mayonnaise dressing on the side. The ramen itself was also very good.Everything was served in big portions, which we weren’t able to finish. The service was good, as the waiters were particularly helpful with our requests to replace ingredients with others that were not on the menu.“

“I ordered the Beef Okonomiyaki, some people call it Japanese Pizza, a delicious pancake made with a special batter with tempura flakes, small pieces of sliced beef, leeks and cabbage mixed and topped with very thin dry sliced beef, Japanese mayonnaise and a sweet umami sauce similar to Tonkatsu sauce. This restaurant opens early and serves American breakfast among other things.“

“An affordable Thai restaurant with good food and friendly service. We ordered a Cucumber Salad, Pad See Ew and Pad Thai. All three dishes were very nicely presented and very good. The Cucumber Salad was generously sprinkled with Bonito flakes, giving it a strong fish flavor. The food was very nicely presented and the restaurant is bright and clean. Access to the bathroom requires a trip through the kitchen.“

“This place is amazing. The ramen quality is very consistent here. But the curry rice plate is okay. This is a true gem amongst the many mediocre ramen shops in the bay area. This is a place I'm willing to drive to just for ramen even if it is in the city.“

“Kio Ramen on Balboa Street is an absolute gem in the Outer Richmond! The Pork House Ramen was nothing short of perfection—rich, savory broth with tender, flavorful pork that hit all the right notes. Pairing it with their house red wine was a surprisingly fantastic choice that elevated the meal even further.
Parking was surprisingly accessible for San Francisco, which already puts this spot ahead of many others. The staff was incredibly friendly, creating an atmosphere that was both lighthearted and welcoming. It felt like the perfect cozy stop to fuel up with a homey, comforting meal before heading out to soak in the breathtaking views this area is known for.
One tip though—if you’re like me, using chopsticks might turn into a fun little noodle adventure. Let’s just say the ramen was so good, even my chopsticks didn’t want to let go! Five stars, without a doubt!“

“I was actually jonesing for some good Japanese curry when we were searching for a place to eat.. I decided on Fumi because the Japanese curry before the ramen lol must be good if it’s first right? It was perfect and the ramen was really good too. I definitely recommend this place for doing “simply” delicious.“

“Very small Japanese restaurant we had a grazing light lunch at and thought very good. Their shishito peppers and garlic edamame are the best we've ever had even after 45 years in SF eating at many Japanese restaurants around the City, especially Japantown and the Richmond. Soft shell crab and Kaki fry (oysters) were also very good.
Parking: This is inner Richmond but with some patience can find parking on Avenues or Anza/Cabrillo/Geary.“

“This is by far one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The flavours piled into this vegan ramen are insane. Worth a trip back to SFO just for this. It is a very small location with limited seating, a queue out the door isn’t uncommon but worth the wait.“
