“Came here for a friend catchup and we got seated and had a reservation beforehand.

Good:
- The ramen came out very quickly - I got the classic ramen bowl
- The portion size was good - I was very full by the end
- A nice place to catch up - it's got japanese izakaya vibes and more dimly lit

Bad:
- The soup was really salty so it felt like it was unhealthy to drink too much of it

Overall this was a solid place to have an extended catch up and the ramen was quick and tasty.“

“Oisii Ramen.😋

It was my first visit at Nojo Tavern and I had this Tan Tan Spicy Ramen. It hit the spot. I travel around and have different kinds of Ramen but Nojo’s Tan Tan is a really good one.
The broth, thick noodles and Cilantro toppings was the best. It was my first time having ramen without Chasyu-Pork instead they have this Grounded chicken mixed with the broth which is more flavorful and delicious.
This Ramen is the recommendation to people who love spicy flavor Ramen noodles.

“One of the best & true Japanese ramen joint you can find in San Francisco - hands down! I love the details they thought of into the making of every dishes that they served in front for you. Most of the dishes they made are often tied back to a story / reminder of other dishes that takes you back to the joy of home cooked meals. I also love Yoko & Clint - they’re so humble and such lovely duo, it’s always great to catch up with them even if it’s for a short period of time! I know it’s hard to find reservation here but keep trying! Definitely worth the visit!“

“This restaurant l restaurant has a handful of minor flaws for their higher prices.

We started with their happy hour appetizers: TSK fries and fried cauliflower. The fries tasted great with the seasoning, but it kept falling off so most bites were plain. The cauliflower was well-executed but uninteresting. We also tried a sake flight, which was excellent and showed a lot of variety.

For mains, we ordered dipping noodles and spicy miso ramen. The ramen has excellent ingredients including lucious pork belly and a perfectly done egg. However, the broth was salty and oily enough to slightly upset the stomach. The dipping noodles were very high quality with flavorful broth, but we generally preferred the ramen on our return visit. The pork rice bowl is an amazing value at $10 and is a meal in itself; it's my new favorite dish. Most mains are $22.

The first time service was very attentive, verging on overbearing. The second time was better. The interior atmosphere is beautiful, although it gets pretty loud when busy. Finally, we were disappointed to see that all of their new promotional signs are made with AI.“

We were initially bummed to discover at noon on a Saturday that there was no brunch, and breakfast ends at 11, but we were so impressed and delighted by the lunch options that we will definitely be back. It’s so hard to find vegan eggs, and I was able to get them on the incredible vegan fried rice dish, which I was thrilled about! And my partner loved his wings and spam fried rice. “This is long overdue for how much I love this place. It's a quiet quaint little restaurant with some real flavor coming out the back. Granted I've never sat down to eat but it's your run of the mill "no frills" residential SF restaurant. The service is always friendly and quick. The food is where the hoopla is at. I'm not gonna scream and say best ramen in SF (though for me...personally...) This is genuinely my comfort restaurant. The protein portions don't make you question the price as SF will do to many. When I want guaranteed good meal on an off day or a rainy day, then I just go here. I hope to see them stay and if they desire to, expand. Please check them out if your on the fence.

Also very effective take out/delivery packaging of food. For some reason restaurants struggle with ramen packaging, though they make it so simple. This usually means I can enjoy my ramen and then whatever soup/broth I have leftover (I'm light on my broth) then I can make another meal the next day. Bless.

Parking: There paid street parking on Ocean Ave and free parking in the residentials surrounding. THERE IS NO PARKING/CURBSIDE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE BUSINESS.“

“This spot was just as good as the Japan Town location. I had the chicken umami ramen and it was perfect with its flavorful broth and a combination of the toppings. It really hit the spot. Genki Ramen Ramen • $
4014 Geary Blvd, San Francisco

“A hole-in-the-wall with ambience and moody lighting, serving tasty food behind a medieval-looking door. This restaurant always looked closed, but I finally decided to open the door today to order the Chashu Braised Pork Belly, the first item on the menu posted on the window, to go. Inside were beautiful hanging lights and an assortment of plants that gave the place a cozy atmosphere. There was only one other customer who was about to leave at the time I entered. After ordering and paying over $8 ($7 +taxes), I asked the cashier if it was always that empty and she said no. Apparently, there used to be lots of customers before the pandemic, but since it was a barbeque place, they needed special tables. It's a small restaurant with a small storefront, and next to a parking lot, so there isn't really room to build a parklet or put tables outside.I got my food about nine minutes after ordering, in a medium-sized paper bag, which felt a little light. When I got home, I excitedly opened the bag to see what was inside. It was three pieces of pork belly (which, by the way, is one of the cheaper cuts of pork) inside a tiny aluminum container, with a piece of arugula on top. I was a bit underwhelmed. Each piece was about the size of two Chapstick containers side-by-side. The pork belly was very tender and basically melted in my mouth. It was some great pork belly, and because it was protein and fat, it was filling. Still, I expected more. This is a nice hole-in-the-wall that most people walk past without thinking. The service was excellent and the food was delicious, but I expected more than three pieces of pork for the price. However, based on other reviews, the ramen is probably fantastic. I really want to give five stars, but my experience was worth four stars.“
