I had been fasting all day and just got out of my doctor's appointment around 530pm. I was starving on Taco Tuesdays😉lol. I looked up on Google best super tacos in San Francisco in the Mission area! Well,We'll, popped up with the most stars⭐️😉. I ordered the Tijuana style tacos🌮, handmade tortilla, grilled cheese, one shrimp🍤(Clean jumbo prawns👍🏽🍤❤️) and one steak, onions, cilantro and guacamole on the side. They were so nice💜! They even added in some chips when I asked do they come with chips. The chips were fresh and warm still. When I got home my food was still warm but I did have it in a warmer bag from doordash LOL. This restaurant was very clean and they also have the condiments of different type of sauces in clean squeezable bottles, self service packaging. Everything was delicious and seasoned to perfection. “While visiting San Francisco’s Presidio National Park and the nearby Walt Disney Family Museum on August 11 2023, we came upon several food trucks parked up, one of which was El Fuego Authentic Mexican. It had the longest line of them all so we figured the food must be good. The delicious smell also was a big draw! We joined the long line and waited patiently for 15 minutes to be served. As we neared the truck, a lady crossed out the fish tacos on the menu - they must have been popular. We had to quickly rethink what we’d like to order. We went for the following (to share): 🌮 Combo de Lux 🥤 Mexican Coca-Cola (500ml in glass bottles) x 2 The Combo de Lux consisted of: Soft taco x 1 Mulita (sandwich taco) x 1 Quesabirria x 1 Consommé (broth) Pots of mild and spicy salsa We were given a pager so we would know when to return to the hatch. It was an exciting 10 minute wait while the tasty delights were freshly prepared inside the food truck. We took our food over to some large plastic rocking chairs on the Main Parade Lawn (opposite the Walt Disney Family Museum) and tucked in without delay. The food was incredible: full of birria-style beef, cheesy, spicy, tasty, juicy. We had to take great care when eating it, as it was a breezy day and we didn’t want to make a mess. The consommé was new to us. We didn’t dip the quesabirria into the broth - we drank it! The flavors were very rich, with a little spicy kick. El Fuego really was a good choice and just what we needed for lunch having walked many miles around San Francisco. These were our first authentic tacos in California and the benchmark has now been set very high!“

“Our niece lives in SF and recommended Tacolicious for a quick birthday celebration for my brother's birthday before heading to an Escape Room. We live out of the area and trusted her recommendation. The food was delicious. The salsa served with the chips was wonderful. Not too hot and packed with flavor. Our food, the roasted corn, guacamole and tacos were yummy.The staff are incredibly nice and helpful. They kept the pie we brought for our brother in the back and served it at the end of our meal and sang happy birthday. Valarie was our wonderful server, but everyone was great. They even tolerated me practicing my Spanish with them. It may have been a coincidence that it was late afternoon and not as crowded as usual, but I'm sure they would have still been great.“

“YUM!!! I just got a burrito bowl with shrimp and mushrooms. It was delicious and SO FRESH. The veggies and generous avocado look like a photograph they’re so fresh. Shrimp was cooked perfectly and mushrooms caramelized to perfection. Rice and beans are so yummy and not greasy at all. Highly recommend!“

“This place is way under the radar. Super great value, counter service but they bring you your food and bus for you. Big salsa bar in the back with flavorful salsas (you can really taste the smokiness of the peppers in the red sauce, and the green sauce is wonderfully tart). And most importantly, the tacos are SO DELICIOUS!!!!!!! Handmade tortillas. JUICY chicken. Flavorful garnish. Tasty poc chuc. Pastor with pineapple chunks.“

“Love this place. I used to get steak tacos or carnitas (with pineapple), but now I'm trying not to eat meat. They have 2 tacos you can mix and match. I get grilled veggies, nopales or fish and add beans for some extra protein. I have started going here every time I'm in the office. Deducted a star from atmosphere for the shady neighborhood, but they can't control that.

If you are new to San Francisco, do not go here. If you are not familiar with the neighborhood, do not go here...If you are numb to the horrible things you see in the Tenderloin (this is one of the worst blocks for that) you should take advantage of your thick skin and enjoy the best Mexican food north of Market Street. Plan on taking it to go.“

“This place has the best Mexican food we’ve had. We were visiting San Francisco from DC and wanted some authentic Mexican food. Once we saw all of the rave reviews for this place, we decided we had to go and our experience 100% lived up to the reviews.

When we arrived and were taking a little while to absorb the menu, the very kind man at the counter offered to let us try all of their sauces so that he could make a recommendation for us. All of the sauces were delicious, but we each gave our favorites and he recommended that we each do a mix and match enchiladas plate. They were phenomenal.

I want to emphasize that these are genuinely kind and warm people. On top of offering to have us try their sauces without asking, when we sat down they brought us a basket of chips and three salsas on the house. We felt taken care of in a way that stands out compared to other restaurants.

If we lived in San Francisco, we would be regulars here. Definitely coming back any time we visit in the future! 10/10 would recommend, no notes.“

“We ordered tacos for a post-wedding brunch at my parents' house the day after our wedding and they were a hit! The delivery person was prompt and super nice. They set up all the tacos, salsas and left menus that described each taco type. The tacos were all individually wrapped and labeled. It was perfect to have a mix of tacos with meat, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free so there was something for everyone. We had some left over and they have been delicious just heated up in the toaster oven. I highly recommend them for any party or gathering!“

“I think I've been to about 75% of the Mexican restaurants and Taquerias in the city, so keep that in mind when I say the El Tepa Taqueria put out the very best Tacos de Cerdo I've ever had. The flavors of the pork and salsa verde melded together perfectly with the hand made tortillas!

I have that terrible cilantro gene, and the proprietor took time to think through the menu and let me know what never had cilantro and where it was easy to take out, and was all around kind and personable. I ate this torta in the sunshine by the lake- a perfect lunch.“

“Had a birria super burrito. The tortilla was nice, soft and tasty, however, the burrito and birria itself was quite dry. No amount of sauce helped saved this burrito. I don't even think I tasted the avocado. I probably should've just stuck with my regular carne asada but I'm not sure there'll be a next time for that. Given the restaurant's high reviews, I'm sure I just ordered the wrong menu item. I should've checked before letting my stomach decide. So yeah, skip the birria super burrito and order one of the other menu items recommended by others.“

“Mi Comedor is the first Mexican restaurant (outside of the Mission) that truly hit the spot for my burrito cravings. I don’t think I ever considered getting a burrito around the Ferry Building before today.

I was blown away by how flavorful and saucy the burrito I ordered was. The combination of black beans, rice, sour cream, and a bit of guacamole was perfectly balanced.

I’m definitely becoming a regular and will be keeping this spot in mind for a Ferry Building neighborhood lunch.“

“07/13/2025 I got the giant or whatever it's called asada burrito, it was perfect. The meat was succulent. When you cut it open you can see the tomatoes and lettuce and sour cream mixed well with the beans and rice very balanced. They also have an off the hook chicken Verde. They cook everything fresh and keep it warm behind the glass where you can see it. I wish this place was where I lived in Sacramento.“

“We loved this cute little restaurant close to Chase center . Best salad with chicken and great fish dishes. It’s between third and 4th (across the Uber office and the chase center). There is the ucsf parking lot and garage door open into the alley. You can’t miss it. Also we love their homemade sauces. Must try and highly recommended .“
