“Reyna was our server and provided exceptional service along with such a friendly demeanor the whole time, we dined on a busy Saturday evening and she was splendid the whole evening. We complimented the whole dining experience, especially the cuisine. Reyna brought out the chef!! We had the extreme pleasure to meet Chef Yerika Munoz, I disclosed my sincerest appreciation for the cuisine and representation of Mexican cuisine, as it is my heritage. I plan on bringing my family because of the amazing and memorable experience we had!“

“Food is nothing short of amazing. Large menu and especially good for vegetarians and those who are into healthy options and unwilling to sacrifice taste. Really good kids menu. It's crowded and loud on Friday night, so you'll need a little patience if you go then.“

“We show up on a Saturday around 4pm and there were plenty of open tables so they sat us right away. We order the guacamole, chicken flautas and barbacoa tacos.
- they charge $16 for an small dish of guacamole and its not very fresh.
Chicken flautas: 5/5, really tasty. Those were some of the best flautas I’ve ever had.
Barbacoa tacos: 3/5, meat was dry and pretty salty, also the chipotle salsa that came With them wasn’t something that i feel complemented the tacos and my daughter felt the same way but the tortillas are freshly made and they were pretty good.
Atmosphere is definitely 10/5! I would still go here for the atmosphere even if the food wasn’t the best.“

“Over the years. I've had breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Mar y Sol. I usually just get a single taco with carnitas which is really a bargain. I splurged this week and had a full dinner, enchiladas verde, rice, beans, and small salad ($20-ish), took 2 entire enchiladas home for lunch the next day :-). The food is excellent, the staff is lovely, and the atmosphere is delightful. Pay cash to get a discount (3%, IIRC).“

“My wife and I have been passing by this place for almost 3 years after our daughters swim lessons and have always wanted to stop by and grab some food here but never come around to it. We finally decided to drop by and grab something to eat here. And we have been missing out for so long. The service is quick and people very nice and the food is amazing. Carne asada burrito with red and green salsas on the side was my pick. The Sonora hot dog is also amazing! We are definitely coming back here!“

“Don't let the haters fool you. This place has consistently served up traditional Mexican food with authentic flavors that taste like they are straight from your abuela for easily the past decade. There is a reason the day workers eat here and not Tacos El Compa - which is great but definitely more Cali/Mex or Baja.“

“Very authentic Mexican food. The tortillas, sopes, and huaraches are hand made and make everything that much more delicious. We tried 1 sope de chorizo, 1 huarache de carne asada, 1 taco de asada, and 1 taco de pollo and all of the food was soooo satisfying. We also got an agua de piña con mango and saying that it was refreshing is an understatement. All the people working were attentive and they also do catering FYI! Can’t wait to be back to try their tamales oaxaqueños and their tlayudas.“

“I recently dined at La Coronas, a Mexican restaurant that delivered an impressive culinary experience with its vibrant dishes. First, I savored their wet burrito with green sauce—a true standout. Packed with tender shredded chicken, beans, and rice, the burrito was drenched in a zesty tomatillo sauce that balanced tanginess with a subtle heat. Melted cheese cascaded over the top, adding creamy richness, while the sauce soaked into the tortilla, ensuring every bite was succulent. Served on a simple white plate, the vivid green sauce popped, making it as visually appealing as it was delicious.Next, I tried La Coronas’ combo plate, featuring an enchilada, a chicken flauta, and a fish taco. The enchilada, stuffed with savory chicken and topped with a rich red sauce and crumbled queso fresco, was comforting and perfectly seasoned—a classic done right. The chicken flauta, golden and crispy, offered a satisfying crunch with its juicy filling, elevated by fresh shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and a dollop of sour cream. The fish taco stole the show, with lightly battered fish in a soft tortilla, topped with a zesty slaw that added a refreshing bite. Accompanied by well-seasoned Mexican rice and creamy refried beans, the plate was a delightful medley of flavors. Finally, I sampled their menudo with pig’s feet, a bold and authentic dish. The rich, spicy broth, filled with tripe and tender pig’s feet, warmed me to the core. Fresh cilantro, onions, and a squeeze of lime enhanced its depth, though the gelatinous texture of the pig’s feet might not suit all palates.La Coronas truly shines with its authentic Mexican fare, blending bold flavors with comforting classics. For anyone craving a hearty, flavorful meal, this spot is a must-visit gem that captures the essence of Mexican cuisine.“

“I eat here several times a month and often more than once a week! I love the street tacos. The shrimp taco is delicious and in my opinion, the carnitas are among the best I’ve ever tasted. Michelada is generous and well seasoned (I prefer Negra Modelo, and they offer many other beers as well). Chips and salsa are fresh made and a great starter while you look over the menu.
My family also loves super chicken burrito (shredded) and the rice and beans.
Kid-friendliness: They can accommodate large groups by consolidating tables. Kids seem to love looking around at decorations and listening to the background music. Food is served quickly, and there are options for kids. Fresh horchata, and agua fresca (piña, jamaica) is available.“

“It's been a long time since I've had a restaurant where I found everything, good food, good service, the truth is that it's excellent, the food is delicious, the dishes are great, the portions are super generous, the service is exceptional, the drinks are delicious, only that the juice they put in them was bitter from then on. Outside everything is a 10 out of 10 congratulations!!!“

“At first, I was skeptical when my wife mentioned a place called Tamales El Tamalero. I’ve tried so many tamale spots over the years that just didn’t live up to the hype. But, long story short—I decided to give it a try, and I honestly can’t find the words to express the satisfaction I felt here. From the welcoming customer service to the quality of the food, this place is on a whole different level.
After years of searching for truly exceptional tamales, I finally found them here. The way they blend flavors is amazing, and the grand surprise was the chilaquiles topping on the tamales—just wow! And their champurrado? It’s one of the best I’ve ever tasted, so rich and delicious. Tamales El Tamalero is an experience worth savoring!
The tamal I recently tried was an absolute delight, perfectly encapsulating everything a tamal should be. Wrapped in a warm, soft corn husk, it was filled with a savory blend of ingredients that melded together in perfect harmony. The masa was incredibly soft and fluffy, moist but not overly so, which made it the ideal base for the filling. Inside, the spiced pork (or chicken) was tender and flavorful, infused with a sauce that had just the right amount of kick.
What really impressed me was the balance of flavors—nothing was too overpowering, allowing each bite to highlight the rich, earthy taste of the masa with the slightly tangy and spicy filling. The aroma itself was mouthwatering, transporting me to a place of comfort and warmth. This tamal was clearly made with love and tradition, and it’s the perfect comfort food for any time of day. A must-try for tamal lovers!
If you have been disappointed by all the tamales being sold outside of stores or grocery stores like I have come try tamales el tamalero.
Kid-friendliness: They offer tamales for kids with a variety of fun flavors, perfect for little ones to enjoy!“
