“We had the Halo-Halo, Tortatalong, Beef Pata, and Vegetable Lumpia—each dish was piping hot and ready in just 20 minutes. The flavors brought us right back to the Philippines! Every bite was rich, authentic, and perfectly seasoned. Whether you're craving a taste of home or want to experience the best of Filipino cuisine, Pistahan is a must-visit. We can't recommend it enough, and we can't wait to go back!“

“I know this restaurant has been around for 20 years but it was my 1st time here. The food tastes authentic, service is great. Some people say the servings are small but they are actually just right. I had their lomi (for take out) and had their halo-halo, inihaw na bangus for a late lunch. Was worth the trip. Will definitely be back.“

“It’s a hole in a wall. I ordered the adobo pusit, bansilog, sinigang broth and tocilog on two different occasions. None took away my breath. They were mediocre. The same as the surrounding Filipino restaurants. However, the owners’ friendliness and genuineness were apparent. Both sisters on two separate occasions, stopped at my table and engaged in a warm conversation, making me feel like a beloved family. I felt like I was being served at Nobu. I asked if they had coffee and she said she can make me one, which was not part of the menu, plus it was’t included on the final check. The black pipping hot coffee was in a paper dixie cup, but tasted better than coffee in Brazil. This personalized and attentive service ensured a positive experience, despite the food.
Overall, this hole in the wall offers a welcoming atmosphere and friendly owners. The food might not be the primary draw, but it’s a great choice if seeking a comfortable spot with excellent customer interactaction.“

“I recently had the pleasure of experiencing exceptional service at Tipunan. Not only is their cuisine absolutely delightful, but their commitment to customer satisfaction is unparalleled. We had a large catering order for an early morning event, and they graciously opened an hour early just to accommodate us-!
The party tray was beautifully arranged and the food was nothing short of spectacular, showcasing their dedication to Filipino quality and flavor. From the freshness of the ingredients to the exquisite presentation, it was evident that they take great pride in their craft. We ordered the Chicken BBQ Skewers, the Lumpia, and the Vegetarian Pancit, every tray filling our guests with absolute quality.
The staff was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure that our order was nothing short of PERFECT. Their willingness to be flexible and accommodating truly sets them apart from other establishments.
If you're looking for a restaurant that combines exceptional service with mouth-watering Filipino dishes, look no further than Tipunan. Highly recommended, and it gets the Oregano seal of approval!
Vegetarian options: The Vegetarian Pancit was filling and powerful!“

“What a delightful place to stop and grab a delicious empanada or a boba drink. I just love the chicken adobo empanadas. The pastry is fresh, flaky, and crispy. The lightly spicy chicken and potato filling is tender and savory. So good. Be sure and try the house-made sweet chili sauce as well. For dessert, try the mango cheese cake empanada. It is tangy, fruity, rich with cream cheese and topped with a sugar-glazed crust. The prices are very affordable too!“

“It’s my Birthday treat today so We traveled all the way from San Francisco to Hayward and tried their Cebu Lechon. It was Crispy and tasty. Meat was moist and tender. The best cebuchon i tried in the bay area. Highly recommended. Must try also the Pansit. Will definitely recommend to family and friends. Will come back to try all the items in their menu but the lechon is definitely the star..“

“I walked in, I was welcomed by the warm and cozy atmosphere that instantly made me feel at home. The space is inviting, with a charm that reflects Filipino hospitality—genuine, friendly, and full of heart. The owner and staff greet you like family, and the vibe is perfect whether you’re meeting a friend or just enjoying a quiet coffee break. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to stay a little longer.“

“My experience was a mixed bag. The food was undeniably delicious, but my interaction with a male matured server/cashier left a sour taste in my mouth.
All the dishes were truly impressive. Each bite was a flavor explosion and equally scrumptious. The place knows what it's doing.
However, things took a turn for the worse when this matured server/cashier came over to my table. While I appreciate enthusiasm, this owner's brand of passion crossed into intrusive territory. He dominated the conversation. The real kicker came when he started micromanaging my dining experience, insisting I order fewer dishes and serve them on plastic containers. He said I wouldn’t be able to eat them all. I order two dishes so I can take it to go. I replied to him I could’ve eaten at McDonalds, but I want to eat on real plates and use real utensils.
Newsflash: if I'm capable of using a fork without guidance, let me enjoy my meal in peace!
While the food was great, the server/owner's overbearing demeanor put a damper on what could have been a fantastic dining experience. If Toppings Two Union City can work on striking a balance between attentive service and respecting customers' boundaries, I'd be more than happy to give them a glowing review. Until then, I'll recommend the food, but with a caveat: be prepared for a side of attitude.“
