“I enjoy Boathouse and the small town vibes it gives. There is a chill atmosphere, they have good drinks and attentive bartenders (Janet + Christian). The only downside is that I don't enjoy when there is that guitar guy there randomly strumming songs in the background. They turn all of the music off and it makes it low key uncomfortable and really puts the vibe in an odd place. The guitar guy doesn't sing, he doesn't play entire songs and he doesn't even play songs that are fun/exciting/good bar vibes. This is an entirely too huge downfall because atmosphere and music in a bar play an insurmountable part in the success and continuity of business. I actually left when the man started playing his guitar again because it was honestly really odd and just put the whole mood. I will definitely return and I sincerely hope that I don't accidentally come on another night where this random man is playing his guitar at random parts of the night. I would literally walk out again if that happened haha. No hate to guitar man it's just weird that they shut off the entire bar music to let this dude strum his guitar in background. They also have Trivia nights, I believe I saw a darts board hanging, There are over 7+ TV's hanging around the bar. The bartenders are all super friendly and down to earth, and special shout out to Lori, a legendary barkeep in the area! They have Irish-themed food from 5-10p and brunch during NFL season!“

“When I moved here from San Diego 2 years ago, I took a short walk and found this spot. Within moments, I was served by a great lady. Within 5 more minutes, I called her back over, introduced myself, and told her that I'd just moved here and that this was going to be my new spot. They knew my name and what I drank in the first two weeks. I consider them all friends now, and when I move to Lake Merritt next week, it's this bar and it's staff I will miss most about Alameda. I'm a fan of the Spice Trader and the Black Tot Grog. Don't let the prices deter you; the quality makes it worthwhile. The pirate/nautical theme has good ambiance. It's not overbearing, but definitely not something you can overlook. I'd call it cute and whimsical, and I appreciate that the art on the walls was bought from small artists on Etsy. It vaguely reminds me of the vibe on Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Like, a little homemade and dated but done with love and extreme attention to detail. On weekends they have live music, often jazz, and it's been good stuff every time I came here. The staff is all great. Owners are often on-site. Jorge, the door guy, is friendly and helpful and welcoming. I highly recommend this as a place for a date night. It's classy, cool, and serves up good drinks. “I think the food here is fabulous! The pita, hummus, salads and halvah are shoulders above everyone else's. I haven't tried the sandwiches yet because the hummus bowl and pitas are so hard to resist. I've taken home the frozen pitas and containers of humus from the store, too. They are so delicious they make it very hard to want to waste the calories on the versions possibly more conveniently available everywhere else. I'm just sad they close so early, since I'd love to grab dinner here sometimes but eating before 5:30 usually doesn't work out for me.“

We came for the craft cocktails we saw on their website, and Keenan was the cool bartender who was there to make them for us. Wooden siding gives it a warm atmosphere - its almost like your in a cabin. You will be blown away with how they did so much with such a small space. This is a very cozy bar. Very friendly. I love the tiny outdoor covered patio. Its great for smoking and the tall fence between the parking lot and the building makes for a comfortable space to be. If you need a place a little more quiet to talk this is your best bet. Karaoke was impressive. There was such talent singing all the songs from mostly 20 years ago. Sappy love songs and other favorite hits. Voices were very very good. I can't tell you how many paid cover bands I listen to that are horrible. “We had a very enjoyable experience here! My friend and I split a money burger and fried chicken sandwich so we could each try them both. They were both so tasty! We did order the burger medium and it came medium well, no biggie for us. It was still tasty, loaded with flavor. The fried chicken sandwich was also good, crispy and not dry, yummy sauce. Truffle fries were fire as well. Crispy edges, soft middle, great taste. Our waiter was super friendly and a joy to talk to. “Good place to stop by and grab a healthy salad on your way to catch your flight. I had the Super Green Salad with Tofu. I liked the fresh ingredients and the dressing. There were plenty of other ready to go salads to choose from. If you arrive early for your flight, you can take your salad and walk over and catch the view of the bay nearby.
