“Came here on a Tuesday night with my girl and we're from out of town was definitely welcoming and worth the drive and the music was popping and the service was amazing would recommend , the bartender Dee she was so nice and dope would recommend the rainbow shots if you come“
“Came here for drinks and appetizers. Amazing crispy catfish salad (so bright, balanced, savory, herbaceous) and the mak grut (keffir lime leaf) cocktail was one of the best cocktails I’ve ever tasted—complex, fragrant, refreshing and just delicious. As a person with Thai ancestry who is picky about his Thai food, I definitely recommend this place for a creative spin on Thai food that still respects the proper balance of flavor, at very least based on the two things I tasted!Great service and atmosphere as well. Can’t wait to come back and have a full meal.“
“Had lunch with 2 of my girlfriends on a weekday and we were seated immediately. It was all of our first time there, and we loved it. We will be back to try more! Let's get into it:Menu: We came during lunch so we had the lunch menu as well as the Restaurant Week fixed menu. We didn't opt for it because we wanted to try some other items but we heavily considered it. The regular lunch menu was great - 1 page and yet had many options for us. The back listed several great looking drink options.Appetizers: Everything we ordered was extremely flavorful. We ordered the Salmon Salpicon and Bruselas El Prado to share. The salmon dish was so good and rich. We wish it came with just a few more more plantain crisps but that's our preference. We said we'd come back for that and drinks alone...unless we got the rest of our dishes. The Brussel sprouts were so well flavored and perfectly charred and crispy. I would eat that on it's own.Main Dishes: We order 3 dishes including: Arepa con Queso, Colombian Chorizo Hotdog, and Posta Negra Sando. I had the Arepa and it was a wonderful vegetarian arepa dish filled with a mix of root veggies, cauliflower and broccoli all topped with an egg. So filling. Highly recommend. I don't eat meat so I didn't eat the other dishes but my friends were not disappointed.Service: The servers were great. Very genuine interactions. They checked in on us periodically and were never far if we needed something.Ambiance: The place itself was beautifully decorated. I wish I took pictures of the inside of the restaurant.Overall, a wonderful treat to experience with friends. Treat yourself to this place! We'll be back to try more food and check out their dinner menu.Dietary restrictions: Menu states this is a gluten free kitchen. Dishes also marked as DF (dairy free), VG (vegan), VEG (vegetarian) where applicable.“
“The food was 10/10, everything we ordered was excellent, and was brought to us by the chef himself, who was gregarious and kind. Service was impeccable, our waiter was available but in no way intrusive. Ambience was on point and unique. Will definitely be returning to Bardo!“
“Dropped by with the whole family. I've been going here for years. The service and food has always been good. Can't go wrong here with the food and cocktails. Will be back again for sure.Parking: There was plenty of parking at south shore center“
“Great food, a bit on the expensive side but ok with us. Great service and very friendly staff. Restaurant is loud and noisy, we couldn't hear each other conversation on the same table without yelling. I am gonna hold off making any cozy dinner rsvp with fiends until this get fixed. Looking forward to it. Really love the food.“
“Our first time here and a great experience! Food was fabulous and very nice environment and friendly staff! Food tasted very fresh, especially the noodles! Surprised it wasn’t that busy on a Saturday lunch time, but hopefully the word of the mouth gets around fast and more people get to experience this place. Good luck!“
“Been coming here for years and returned after a hiatus. The food is still delicious and so are the cocktails. The aesthetic and atmosphere is fun and alluring.Ordered the Li Hing Melon and Return to Guava Island as well as Salt & Pepper Chicken and Garlic noodles. The food is bomb!Service was great and I even noticed some familiar faces among the staff which is always refreshing. One of the best bars in Oakland and offers immaculate vibes.“
“A must visit every time I’m in Oakland.Stopped by before a concert at the Fox on a Monday night. There were lots of open seats, love their back patio. They have heaters but it was warm enough without them. We ordered at the bar and our drinks and food were brought to our table. The happy hour (5-7 pm) cocktail was a mezcal spritz ($7), it was the perfect refreshing yet smoky cocktail for a warm night in the bay.I love the menu here, we shared the radishes w/ aioli and added sardines. Love the way the radishes were served with the stems on, we felt like bunnies ?. We also shared the melon and prosciutto which is a MUST have. The chili oil on it was perfect. They were out of the carrot cake ?, but settled for some popcorn and the beer + mezcal coffee shot happy hour drink ($7) for dessert. This space also has books, cards, and crayons to draw on the table cloth. A great spot to check out in Oakland, worth making a trip from the city!“
“Excellent service all around, starting with prompt responses to my questions over text message, to a warm welcome when we arrived and attentive service from all the staff throughout our dining experience. All the dishes we ordered were amazing; from the raw and grilled oysters, salads, to the sandwiches/entrees and hand crafted cocktails/drinks, everything was delicious. What a gem in this neighborhood! Definitely recommend, especially if you are celebrating a special occasion. We had such a great time for my birthday.“
“We got the cheeseburger, cheese steak, fries, and corn fritters. I really didn't expect everything to taste THIS good but I was so pleasantly surprised!! Everything was so tasty and the drinks were even better!!! I LOVED the house made ranch and put that on everything. The owner and staff were also super kind - will def be coming back. They have odd hours so it's hard to catch when they're open but definitely worth it.“
“I had to turn "the page" to 3411. The cooks outside are good with the amazing fish tacos ? on Tuesdays along with other great appetizers that go excellent with cocktails or cold beer. Lil smooth the dj has just about every song you can sing. Family, food, fun and entertainment.“
“Third year in a row for Miracle on Telegraph. It's always a blast! The bartenders get into character and pours lots of delicious holidays drinks. This year my favorite was Rudolph's Replacement (it was like a coffee cocktail) hope they keep this tradition going for years to“
“It's a full bar and restaurant with serving brunch too. Has indoor and limited outdoor seatings. Inside is well decorated and clean. Tables are large and overall roomy place.Waiters are responsive and polite.Great for group, events, meetup, kids and accessible. Prices are reasonable wrt food quality. Will come back again.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp to enter and room to easily maneuver“
“Not too impressed with the cocktail I got a Toki highball, not much to say it was flat no flavor. Had appetizer's only, the fries and chicharrones. Great value, well done and for the chicharrones a unique way to serve them with salsa. Needs more salsa. The place is a bit loud, low lighting as well. Staff was great.“
“What an awesome bar! Where else downtown can you stroll across a floor covered in soft sand, be greeted by friendly staff, and enjoy a refreshing cocktail that refreshes you like a tropical beach? Definitely check this place out, and be sure to try the Yay Breeze!“
“$5 parking in guarded lot a half block away due to street bipping. So sad we have come to this. Ordered vegan burrito and it was a ten. Covered outdoor tables. My friend had a different Mexican dish that they made a vegan version. All delicious and service was attentive.“
“I can't say enough good things about Low Bar! I hosted a holiday party here last night for a local professional organization, and Low Bar was the perfect venue. The staff are so thoughtful, organized, and attentive, and the food is fantastic. Low Bar is really the place to be if you want fun, casual vibes but high quality food. Their private room was perfect for a 30-person event. The price was reasonable for the high quality of food, cocktails, and service. Our guests ranged from graduate students to retirees, and folks from all walks of life remarked on how much they loved the location.Justin was our server, and he was the dream to work with. Friendly, professional, attentive-- he really made the party a success. I felt like I could just show up and Justin and the Low Bar would make everything run well.Their event manager Sam was also a joy to work with and made everything so easy. The location is perfect for public transit accessibility, and there is a parking lot across the street.Don't sleep on the churrros! The food here is amazing.“
“We love coming to this place! A nice ambiance, amazing craft cocktails, and outstandingly fresh seafood. They run happy hour almost daily, and our fav day is Tue because they offer half off on their 4 oyster offerings. Highly recommend this “
“Offering a slight update on Ethiopian classics, Mela Bistro is an excellent option for healthy and flavor-forward meat and vegetable based stews. The housemade fermented injera unique in its fluffy airiness, leaving one still feeling light by the end of a meal.A tasteful interior and very friendly service make for a great date spot.“
“Wow, this bar felt quite hidden away from the world behind gray doors despite being on a busy commercial stretch of Lakeshore. There was a cat sign, but Jamie W. and I kept missing it as we strolled back and forth just before it opened at 4PM. When we finally entered, it was a stylish space but overly so with vintage accents producing the requisite chill atmosphere. Let me be honest though. We came for the craft cocktails we saw on their website, and Keenan was the cool bartender who was there to make them for us. I tried the $14 Dear Irene, a blended Pina Colada riff with gin, coconut, ginger, mint, cane, and lime. A lovely libation. Jamie had the $14 Blue Meanie which had a more tantalizing tropical taste. It had a nice kick consisting of eight-year-old Haitian & Banana Rum, Giffard Coconut, lime, and blue curaçao (photo: So satisfying that we had another round. I went with the $14 E&E, a vibrant mix of tequila, mezcal, lime, cilantro, pineapple, and jalapeño over rocks. It was like a short margarita. Jamie tried the $14 Mata Hari, which sounds more mysterious than it was. It left out tequila and mixed mezcal, amaro nardini, lime, and tamarind syrup into a saucy, south-of-the-border libation (photo: While Dear Irene was the definitive standout, all the cocktails provided a nice symphony of compatible flavors. Otherwise I was just drunk. Either way, it made for a satisfying visit at this hidden hideaway close to Lake Merritt. COCKTAILS - 4 stars..,well tested libations with the Dear Irene a standout AMBIANCE - 4 stars...stylish, vintage space with a large enough bar at an inconspicuous address SERVICE - 4 stars...Keenan is a very helpful bartender TOTAL - 4 stars...a chill hangout on Lakeshore RELATED - Exploring Oakland? Here's a collection of places I've patronized and reviewed:“
“Came here with an old friend, we ended up staying for three hours, and we're the last to leave with a large margin. What kept us so long was the great food, the excellent service, and an atmosphere that invites long discussions.Everything on the menu looked so good, and made it hard to pick. I decided to go for scallops on risotto, and finish with a variation on New York Cheesecake. OMG, it was all soooo good. Will be back soon!“
“Friday night was busy. We had a reservation for 8:30 however it took a while for the previous party to leave. The food was amazing. Loved the Brussels sprouts and the fennel salad. The pizzas were perfect - even though we were thinking broccoli pizza may not be to everyone's liking, we all enjoyed it. The pear bourbon and pecan dessert also hit its mark.“
“Great breakfast place. Get the Breakfast Special. A great deal! High quality ingredients. - 2 eggs anyway you like, one pancake or one slice of French toast with whipped butter and warm maple syrup, pick your meat 2 thick cut bacon strips or 3 sausage links for under $10.Service was friendly and attentive. Tables are spread far enough that you are not sitting on top of each other. In terms of Downtown Castro Valley, JP’s is a great family restaurant with tasty comfort food at reasonable prices. You won’t be hungry after finishing your meal.Parking: Flat, large free parking lot outside of restaurant.Wheelchair accessibility: Disability parking in front of the restaurant. Plenty of spacing between the tables for folks with mobility issues to wheel or use a walker easily.“
“Had veal piccata with creamy polenta (not on the menu - I asked and they made it for me!) and the Pesto fettuccine. Didn’t have reservations on a Wednesday night but got seated right away. Food was AMAZING! Drinks and wine menu were solid without being too expensive. Hidden Hayward gem.“
“Great pizza and love the green sauce that goes on top. Really makes this place stand out. Wish they had this flavor of pizza (potato, corn, onion) every day instead of a specialty. The waffle fries were also delicious! Service was fast - but it was a bit pricey for pizza, I am guessing because its a nicer place rather than a dominoes. Located in the new "downtown" fremont. Ambiance was good! We were the only ones in there - but i think it would be a nice place for a happy hour (if fremont nightlife ever picks up LOL)“
“Lakeside Lounge is a great little bar that has been in Oakland for decades! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming! The people are friendly and bartenders are fantastic! I am Piedpiperkj, and I perform at the Lakeside every third Wednesday of the month! The musicians with whom I work, ar Lorenzo Hawkins and Ranzel Merritt. There is also Live blues band every Sunday night, and it is always LIT! There are activities happening Wednesday thru Sunday, something for everyone!“
“On my way back from snagging the deal of the century on dinner, I thought, 'Why not keep the good times rolling?' So, I swung by the Lemon Drop for an after-dinner cocktail and dessert. I opted for their 'Naughty by Nature' cocktail and paired it with FRESH Point Reyes Oysters. Let's just say, I'll be making more 'research trips' to Lemon Drop for their cocktails and grub! #GRUBLYFE“
“Definitely has a low key, cousin's house type of vibe. All the staff were cool and friendly but running around. I was just out by myself and luckily got seated at the bar within about 10 minutes. It's restaurant week, so it could've gone either way and they were definitely busy!I got the $45 pre-fixed menu. Forgive the absence of pics, I forgot ?- Dominican Curry Rice Salad: idk what I was expecting, but this was essentially a cold rice dish with a lot of ingredients and a lot of flavor! 9/10- Gallina Guisada: Chef's Kiss ?!! The plantain, the beans, the curried chicken. 10/10- Tres Leches Cake: the cake was very thick, almost like a pudding. It was super tasty but not like the light and fluffy tres leches cake I'm used to 7/10I will be coming back with friends!“
“I'm sure Roy, the owner, could give two hoots about yelp, but man! Thank you for your hospitality on Turkey day. I hope you and the gents had a great afternoon and we'll see you soon! I'm glad that you were open and cheers to your friend and World Series champion, Dusty Baker!“
“Did not try the food listed location because I was doordashing.. friendly people made me feel welcome and I get a quite few dashes here so I'm guessing the food is great.. a place. I would consider visiting after work for tequila shots..“
“I come up from San Jose to this place all the time. Definitely a spot worth visiting when in the area. The ambiance is chill, everyone is friendly. The drinks are constantly rotating and are top notch. Above all there's the awesome and amazing Bob: super friendly, really knows his stuff and makes the best drinks known to man. Highly recommended“
“EVERYONE was so kind & welcoming. We bought some art. Yes!! You can buy art displayed on the walls. It was an absolutely magic night!!! Big shout out to Cherry, Peter & Smitty for allowing us to buy some of his art rather late which is now safely home in Brisbane Australia. This is a great place for a beverage or 2. It's well worth a visit!!!“
“Same location where it was called Pizza Antica before. The location in Google maps is incorrect and actual location is across the side street from the parking lot.Good food, very good and friendly service. Try the mushroom pizza, salmon, or chicken dish. They also have $7 sangria specials starting on Thursdays every week. The ambience is friendly and the decor is minimalist. The portions are big. You can see the impact of inflation in the prices. If you pay using the QR code (sends you to Toast) it includes tax for calculating tip percentages, which is not great. Hopefully they fix it.Vegetarian options: They will customizeKid-friendliness: Small selection of usual kids items“
“Looking for a laid-back spot to kick back, catch the game, or maybe even belt out a tune or two? Look no further than Pho Nation. My hubby and I recently ventured there for a date night, and while it wasn't a culinary revelation, it certainly delivered in terms of atmosphere and vibe. First off, let's talk ambiance. Pho Nation is the kind of place where you can unwind, soak in the energy, and just have a good time. Whether you're cheering on your favorite team or belting out your go-to karaoke jam in the back, there's never a dull moment. The only downside? If you're hoping for an intimate chat, you might find yourself shouting over the music, which can get a tad loud at times. But hey, who needs deep conversation when you've got good food and great company, right? Which brings me to the food. Now, don't get me wrong - it wasn't mind-blowing, but it hit the spot. Think your standard Vietnamese fare - pho, spring rolls, banh mi - nothing to write home about, but tasty enough to satisfy those late-night cravings. Plus, the portions were generous, so you definitely won't leave hungry. If you're looking for a fun spot to hang out with friends, catch a game, or unleash your inner karaoke star, Pho Nation is your jam. Just don't expect culinary fireworks - the food is solid but nothing out of the ordinary. Still, with its lively atmosphere and chill vibes, it's the perfect place to unwind after a long day or kick off a late-night adventure with your crew.“
“Love the Doolittle. Remodeled about 10 years ago and has a very good and friendly crowd of people. Recent Thursday karaoke visit was enjoyable. This bar has a great crowd of people. Nobody rowdy and nobody who can't handle their alcohol. I would say people are about 30 years old on average - its not really the place 21 year olds come for their first drink. Remodeled about 10 years ago and it still looks great. If the last time you were here was long long ago you need to see the place. Wooden siding gives it a warm atmosphere - its almost like your in a cabin. You will be blown away with how they did so much with such a small space. This is a very cozy bar. Very friendly. I love the tiny outdoor covered patio. Its great for smoking and the tall fence between the parking lot and the building makes for a comfortable space to be. If you need a place a little more quiet to talk this is your best bet. Karaoke was impressive. There was such talent singing all the songs from mostly 20 years ago. Sappy love songs and other favorite hits. Voices were very very good. I can't tell you how many paid cover bands I listen to that are horrible. Tonight (Friday) I was at the Elevate Lounge and the (paid) singer was horrible. Horrible, horrible. I suppose thats what sparks me to write this right here right now. If your in the Hayward San Leandro area don't hesitate to come here an extra mile.“
“Johnny's is a "neighborhood" bar. You can stop in after work, watch a variety of sports fames, billiard table (1). Beer and a shot 12 taps. The folks behind the bar "echo" your greeting. Say "hello" and walk in; pull up between a patron at the bar and Wait patiently to place your order.“
“The general manager, Karla, is the standard for what good customer service looks like. We had a small issue during our dining experience and I was incredibly impressed by how Karla handled the situation. Great vibe, food, drinks, and wonderful customer service. Highly recommend.“
“I take it that Noir Alley’s Eddie Muller owns a piece of the place since he keeps broadcasting from here. I mean, there’s plenty more noir bars he could yak from. A tad sneaky, Eddie, but I’ll try it next time I’m in town. Ciao, babes.“
“This is the first bar I've ever been a regular at. Less than 10 min from my place, right next to Bart, across the street from some great Mexican, with an even better taco truck right in its backyard. Very friendly staff, Oh and most importantly, cheap and delicious drinks!“
“Ayo! This spot is litt! The vibes was great. The patrons was cool. And the bartender was all around great! The atmosphere was good energy. Not a place for BS. The drinks was on point. Would definitely return. And trying to return regularly. It's like a Time Machine....like Cheers, I want to go where they know me name! Older and more respectable crowd. The DJ spins music I can jam and vibe out to. Two thumbs up! The food served was unconventional. That's all I'm gonna say.“
“I'm so proud that this beautiful family is thriving in my city I call home. I attended a celebration for the life of my cousin but he was more like a brother "Chip" yesterday at this lovely establishment. The owners who are close friends with my cousin Al were in attendance and made sure everything went smoothly. The reason I HAD to write this review was because I thought the food was delicious and everyone seemed to have a great time. You didn't have to ask for anything. Thank you for a great afternoon and experience good luck with your business. I definitely want to do Brunch when I come back into town.“
“HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY to All My Fellow Foodies! I decided to ditch the boring old Corned Beef and kick things up a notch. Verdict? DELICIOUS Sunday Dinner, if I do say so myself! Prosciutto Croquettas for the WIN - Panko-Breaded Fried bechamel with Ground Prosciutto & Garlic Aoli dipping sauce was DIVINE. Spinach and Arugula tossed in Parmesan Cheese and their House Apple Cider vinaigrette made me feel like I was eating healthy (sort of). And let's not forget the 8oz Grilled Flat Iron Steak... drooling just thinking about it! Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes were creamy perfection, Red Wine Demi Glace added that extra oomph, and those Crispy onion Strings brought the whole thing together. CHEERS to an Amazing St Patrick's Day feast! #GRUBLYFE“
“Frank's Sports Bar and Grill is an awesome place that you have to visit. My guests and I l enjoyed a delicious meal and good time at this venue. It has plenty of parking and is located immediately next to the railroad track off Marina Blvd.My experience started with finding a convenient parking space within its own clean and orderly parking lot. Pride of ownership and management was visible throughout. It had well marked parking spaces with plenty of handicap spaces. Entry was side and welcoming and free of stairs.Depending on which door you enter through, the space inside is cavernous and tables and chairs are well spaced out. Wheelchair using guests will not have any trouble getting around in here.A full and well stocked bar was located at the North end of the building while the kitchen was at the West side. The kitchen turned out to be a, seemingly, seperate business called "Porque no? Tacos." it has a vast menu of food items. Everything we tried was overflowing with flavor and obvious care in its presentation. The chips were thick and perfectly seasoned and their salsas, OMG, they were the bomb (delicious).Everything ordered was delicious just as they arrived. However, because of their amazing salsas, every taste was magnified. You order at the counter and get a numbered marker. The food is brought to your table bring shortly after. The staff was friendly and welcoming both at the bar and the kitchen. We lucked out that night, it was a Wednesday night. As we ate and dranked we learned that the place was having karaoke that night. We stayed for that and joined in.Jose, the KDJ was friendly and welcoming and seemingly able to play anything requested (except explicit song - some families were having dinner). The system used for karaoke was impressive and filled the place with sound without overwhelming it. We could easily enjoy our conversation and those singing without any problems.Bottom line, I highly recommend visiting this place. Wednesday night Karaoke was a blast with a mix of English and Spanish singing crowd. You will likely enjoy it as much as we did. Thanks Frank's.“
“Jen is our go to bartender. My Uncle and I always have a great time and great drinks. Best days to go are Wednesday through Friday.?Wheelchair accessibility: You can access through the back door or the front door with a wheelchair just fine“
“I never did make it to Tamarack, but there's a wonderful new pop up in the same space now. I just got the quiche with collards and kale. So delicious! The greens have a really nice oil-n-vinegar dressing, and the quiche is hearty without being heavy. And the portions are not stingy! Zee's also sells bbq chicken, a dessert, and other items.“
“A chill place to visit in the Manor section of San Leandro. You could classify this place as a dive bar but it's actually a quite dynamic bar based on the time and day of the week. You've got the retired one older crown from morning tood afternoon, the blue collars in the afternoon to early evening and the younger crowd later on.They boast a free pool table, two electronic darts boards and a free shuffle board. On Fridays they have an amazing karaoke night that continues to outdo itself. The one constant is the bartender Stacie..She has the heart of a saint, the temperament of kindergarten teacher and the sass of a young Dolly Parton. She pours a mean cocktail and always keeps the place.in high spirits..I highly recommend“
“A must try! The scallop risotto is absolutely amazing! The salmon was delicious. Drinks are special. The punch bowl is the way to go. Soooooo good! Our waitress, Kayla, was attentive and knowledgeable. She made excellent suggestions. She made our experience that much better. The manager, Melissa, took the time to come chat with us and make sure all was well. The pastry chef knows what she's doing. Best carrot cake I've ever had. Super friendly staff, great ambiance. We might be back every weekend.“
“Today I went to buy two ceviche toasts, one was with shrimp and crab, in this one they gave me more vegetables than shrimp, there were only three shrimp and I paid for toast with shrimp and crab, the other toast was better served. They had a very good flavor but the The only thing I didn't like was that they gave me more vegetables ?.“
“It's a Friday night. Decided to stop by here before picking up the stepsons from OAK airport. Their flight was delayed. We got here around 10:30 pm. We got parking right across the street. The place was still relatively empty except for folks at the bar. Apparently it's Karaoke night. Some guy was singing "My way" I kid you not (see the video below). The lady and I got a good table. The place filled up within 30 minutes. The clientele reflects the community around San Leandro. Quite diverse. Staff seemed to know the table of bikers that came in. Atmosphere is chill, despite the loud bangers between karaoke songs. DJ was cuttin' it up with Yay Area club classics. We had the lumpia and the lemon pepper strips. Lady had Diet Coke while I had a pint of Sierra Nevada. The staff is friendly and attentive.“
