“Had an incredible lunch at Impasto in San Carlos! I tried the *Bufalino Panini* with prosciutto and mozzarella, and it was simply outstanding. The flavors were perfectly balanced, with the prosciutto offering just the right amount of saltiness, and the mozzarella was fresh and creamy. What really made it special was the homemade focaccia – light, airy, and perfectly crisp. You could really taste the authenticity and care in every bite. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the service was excellent. If you're looking for a true taste of Italy, Impasto is the place to go. Highly recommend!“

“Great restaurant for breakfast/brunch. I was really impressed with the quality of the food and service was very quick once seated.
The wait to be seated can be long on the weekends but they do take reservations/ have a wait-list you can do before going there.“

“I hosted a small group for work at Sekoya and we had a fantastic time. Olivia, the head bartender, was super friendly and very accommodating when it came to making some custom cocktails. We were seated in the lounge area, which was really nice and casual for our group. We shared a bunch of starters and I'll have to call out that the fried mushrooms, the beef, tongue, skewers, and the crispy tuna rolls were really delicious! I had the tropical nights cocktail, which was so tasty and a good size drink. “

“Has everything. Drinks, vibe and empanadas! Been here many times. In door and outdoor options. Not too loud.
Cocktails are fun. They have a holiday menu too right now. The menu makes it easy to choose with drawings of each. Only draw back is the ice inside is huge soo not as much drink as you think.
The vibe is my fave. Open and chic. Enough seating.
The Empanadas are good. One per order. Chicken, beef, mushroom option.
Staff is chill and always attentive.“

“love this spot!
Before it was taken off the menu, the best drink was the Admiral Kay. It’s insanely good and cannot be replicated anywhere else.
The monkey business is delicious with a fun “banana” touch
Shout out to Erwin!“
“Jess (Night bartender) is always the best when i want to get a well crafted cocktail. Antones is a bit of a staple for San Mateo and depending on which night of the week can give you a packed to brim lively time, or if you prefer a lowkey relaxed vibe. Either way, it's always a good time at Antones.

“This bar is fantastic, especially on weekdays when it's less crowded. It's a perfect spot for a relaxed drink and chat with friends. On weekends, it gets very busy and sometimes has a cover charge. For a chill experience, I definitely recommend going during the week.“

“We found this bar at the last minute before closing thank goodness. They have 4 big tv for sports and a Great selection of beers and wines. The Bartender Jason was very helpful and welcoming. So glad we are not having to deal with those stupid annoying kiosks popping up everywhere else. Would definitely recommend stopping here while in SFO.“

“Naschmarkt continues to be a splendid place to eat. It brings back fond memories of my visit to Vienna. Their lunch menu is not quite as large as their dinner, but still plenty to choose from. My choice of a jagershnitzal sandwich on a pretzel bun was delicious albeit unusual. Not to be missed is their apful strudel dessert with homemade vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.“

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Flea Street in Menlo Park, and it was a truly memorable experience. From the thoughtfully curated dishes to the warm ambiance, Flea Street delivered on all fronts, showcasing the best of California’s farm-to-table dining.
We started with a selection of small bites, beautifully presented on a wooden board. The whipped butter, arranged in delicate rosettes, was almost too pretty to eat, while the house-made bread and savory bites set a delightful tone for the meal.
The next dish was a crispy arancini served atop a creamy sauce, garnished with pomegranate seeds that added a pop of color and a hint of sweetness to balance the savory flavors. Each bite was rich and comforting, with a perfect contrast of textures.
Another highlight was a beautifully plated poached egg over a flaky pastry, a simple yet satisfying dish that emphasized fresh ingredients and skillful execution. The egg was cooked to perfection, adding a silky richness to the flaky base.
For the mains, we enjoyed a seared fish fillet atop a bed of orzo and fresh vegetables. The fish was cooked just right, with a crispy herb crust that added an aromatic layer to the dish. The balance of flavors and the quality of ingredients were evident in every bite.
The braised beef with roasted carrots was another standout, tender and flavorful, with a rich sauce that complemented the sweetness of the carrots. It was a comforting, hearty dish that felt both rustic and refined.
We also ordered two drinks: the Modern Old Fashion (yes, it sounds funny—Modern yet Old!) and a Dirty Martini. The Modern Old Fashion was fantastic and clearly a specialty of the restaurant, with a perfect blend of flavors that elevated the classic cocktail. However, on the downside, the Dirty Martini was quite disappointing. Not only was the flavor way off, but they also served it with unpitted olives, which felt like an odd choice for a cocktail. While the olives weren’t the issue, we ended up returning the drink due to its overall taste.
Finally, we ended with a dessert that brought the meal to a satisfying close—a creamy, textured dish topped with crunchy chocolate bits, providing a lovely mix of flavors and textures.
Overall, Flea Street offers a wonderful dining experience with a focus on sustainability and local ingredients. Each dish felt thoughtful and well-executed, and the service was attentive and friendly. While the Dirty Martini fell short, the Modern Old Fashion and the exceptional food more than made up for it. It’s a perfect spot for those looking to enjoy innovative, seasonal cuisine in a cozy and elegant setting. Highly recommend!“

“The food was delicious! Tried the black spaghetti with crab, and it was nothing like I’ve tried before. The kimchi fried rice with its crispiness was also a hit. Highly recommend. On the expensive side. With a drink, appetizer and a main, expect to spend $100+ per person.“

“We love coming to Wunderbar, and whenever we bring friends here, they love it too, and we have a blast.
Kiernan is always an incredible host from the moment we walk through the door. He is warm, fun and thoughtful. He knows his drinks and delivers a phenomenal level of service and sets a high bar - not just for Wunderbar, but for all high-end cocktail establishments.
All the bartenders are fantastic, from Selina, to Andrew, to Brandon. The drinks are always on point. And of course, the endless supply of warm buttery popcorn is a great bonus!“

“Nice place, with great service and ambiance. Our drinks were excellent, while the food was ok, and portions were small and pricey, even for Pintxos (tapas). Seems unfortunate that tapas in the US never seem to be presented in the same spirit as in Spain or Portugal where they always seem like simple, affordable snacks. That said, I would probably go back as the location, drinks, and service are all great.“

“Gao Viet has been bookmarked for awhile now and today was the opportune time to try it. I was in the area, needed to pick up dinner and traffic on 101 was backed up. 5pm was not busy, so I order a few things to try and placed an order for take out. Sugarcane drink, Banh Hoi with 4 items, 2 Giants prawns, and Banh Canh.
Sugar cane drink was fresh, maybe a little too much ice, but it was fine.
Giant prawns: they charge per prawn, which I was curious how big these prawns are. The seasoning and sauce was ok, I wished the sauce was packed separately, as it made the Banh hoa and veggies soggy by the time I got home. The prawn themselves were cooked right, but I wonder if the shell could be more crispy. As it was, I couldn't eat the shell. Overall, I do think these are overpriced in my opinion.
The Banh hoi was an appetizer with 4 varieties: eggroll, pork, shrimp paste on sugarcane and some other type of meat. Out of my order, this was my favorite. I love wrapping it in the lettuce and cilantro and mint herbs. One feedback is that it only came with one fish sauce container, which is skimpy for an appetizer order. My mom had to make more dipping sauce for us.
The Banh Canh was generous portion of pork and bones and quail eggs and shrimp. As it was a take out order, I reheated the broth when I got home so it would be hot. Noodles were good, broth was perfect.
So, maybe next time I would try dining in with friends for the full experience. I wonder if the wait will be long for dinner hours. I'd like to try more dishes and their special drinks.“

“This place is an amazing spot, specializing in a variety of amazing food options including, fusion and incredible appetizers that are easily shared and make for a great time in any dining experience. The staff was knowledgeable, patient and friendly. The price was reasonable and the atmosphere was that of a high end restaurant. We did however experience a slight sewer odor when we first arrived but it dissipated shortly afterwards.“

“We were weary travelers stopping by Scotty's in hope of a more chill vibe with some good food, and Scottys delivered! Our bartender, Sergio, was so friendly and fun! We got some inside knowledge about the town as we are from Oregon. The drinks were perfect and the food was top notch! I would have expected to pay a lot more for the quality of food and service we received at literally any of the surrounding places. We will visit Palo Alto again if only to go back to Scotty's as a new tradition! Thank you, Sergio, for making our anniversary dinner a great one! Someone give him a raise!“

“My recent stay at the Hilton Garden Inn was nothing short of fantastic. From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming and attentive, ensuring I felt right at home. The room was clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything I needed for a relaxing stay.
The highlight of my stay, however, was the exceptional service at the hotel bar. José, the bartender, was amazing! Not only did he craft delicious drinks, but his friendly and genuine approach made every visit to the bar feel personal. His knowledge of cocktails and attention to detail were impressive, and he went out of his way to ensure guests were taken care of.

“A really nice trendy British feel of upscale but without the pretentiousness! I'd say the meals all looked really well presented and made tasty. Everyone seemed to love their dishes. I had the Prime Braised Beef Short Rib w/Yorkshire Pudding and it was FABULOUS. See my pic...it was definitely the envy of the table. The desserts also didn't disappoint with the Meyer Lemon Pavlova and Chocolate Budino. With a little Italian coffee...it was a treat. Highly recommend.“
