“A pure dive bar to its soul. I came here on a Friday night, and Dog House has everything you want in a dive. Chill vibe and bartenders, good drink prices, and an including a variety of shot+beer combo options.I asked for “a Jameson and a beer”, getting a Budweiser and a very generous pour of Jamo for $10. Hope to grab a drink here next time I’m in the area“
“I stopped by to help a friend close. Definitely a cool vibe. Gives you a cheers, dive vibe, yet don't need a tetanus shot after being there. I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a spot to relax watch a game, play pool, have a drink or “
“What a fantastic place. I wanted to try this place for specifically its cupping pepperoni and I was not disappointed. The people behind the bar that night were so friendly, were hustling to get all their drinks made, gave just enough space and attention for us to enjoy our meal and chat while attending to everything else. We got both their pepperoni and the potato pesto pizza to try and loved it. Their crust is perfectly leopard spotted, not too thick, didn't overload the pizza with toppings, and used great ingredients. The pepperoni pizza was loaded with it and had a nice spicy/garlicy undertone. As for the drinks, we got a Shirley temple and a Bunny Hop cocktail which hit the right balance of interesting botanicals. We ended the night with a not too sweet but extremely moist chocolate cake and some of the best pistachio gelato we've tried. Not only was the pistachio on top but also mixed into the dessert. It had all the complexities you'd expect. Their bathroom is clean, their art decor is cute, their music taste is nice, and you can see them making the pizzas right there. Overall, a great experience and we will definitely be coming back.“
“I came recently and loved the Salty Dog tiki concept and tropical cocktails! To be honest I only tried one cocktail- the Rising Sun with gin, strawberry amaro, strawberry-ponzu cordial, ginger beer, and lime- which was light and refreshing. It didn't taste too spirit forward but was surprisingly strong. I liked it so much that when everybody else moved onto different drinks, I ordered another of the same :) We also ordered food for the table- most memorable was their tasty famous kale salad- an absolutely gigantic pile of curly kale with delicious avocado-parmesan dressing. The rest was decent but not worth mentioning in comparison. My group sat upstairs in one of the private rooms which was very cozy and had a window peeking into the courtyard greenery of Penny Roma. The red lighting made photos look a little like we were hanging out in a darkroom or warehouse. Our server was super nice and friendly and offered great recommendations. In short- great cocktails, great kale, great vibes. Can't wait to see what their next theme will be!“
“I love Outerlands, it's a beautiful, small and cozy space and at dinner time it is lit just right. We were a large group seated by the window, and the service was truly impeccable. The String Theory & River Crossing cocktails are two of the best drinks I've ever had, anywhere. They make that aperitivo rossa themselves, OMG. Balanced perfection and, oh, just SO GOOD! Outstanding mixology. The starters were great (esp the kohlrabi salad--GET IT!), but a bunch of us had the chicken as our main and it was sadly disappointing. It might seem extreme to give three stars for food based primarily on the chicken alone, but I do feel that chicken is such a foundational/cornerstone dish for a restaurant, the chef should feel compelled to put out the best possible version they can. It was dry, the skin wasn't crisp enough, and it was accompanied by a crouton, chicory, and fennel salad that was very tart and one dimensional, totally missing balance (I think it needed some currants or golden raisins--SOME spec of sweetness to offset the VERY bitter chicories and the lemon vinaigrette). All five of us who ordered the chicken left half the food on our plate--and we're hearty guys who love to eat. Please, take a critical look at this dish. Your customers are loyal and we love you and want you to succeed. BTW, great date night ambiance!“
“The best signature cocktails in SF can be found at True Laurel. This hip spot is located in the Mission near Trick Dog and features innovative cocktails from the team behind two-Michelin Star Lazy Bear. My favorite drink on a previous menu was In The Pines, Under The Palms, a brilliant twist on the Martinez, a classic that many believe was invented in nearby Martinez, in the East Bay region of the San l Francisco Bay Area. True Laurel makes the Martinez even more local with foraged redwood tips, together with coconut washed rye and the backbone of the original Martinez recipe (London dry gin, sweet vermouth, Luxardo Maraschino and bitters). Thank you to Alexis and Macario for bringing me to this awesome bar.“
“My husband and I popped in for cocktails after a dinner and had a great time. At 7:30pm on a Thursday, we easily found a table and tried a pina colada and their after the gold rush cocktail - both very good. We could hear each other talk but there was still a lively ambience. The decor is fun and we’re lucky this is local to us.“
“I’ve been here twice now and only eaten the tasting menu, an option Copas and chef Julio do on thurs/fri. Incredible experience both times, getting different, creative dishes like a Dungeness crab taco and a brisket mole. The price point of the menu and the bev pairing, done by Erica, are fantastic. For the quality-to-deal ratio, this is prob the best in the city. I’ve been to californios, a two star spot and many of the dishes here at Copas would fit seamlessly in there if not outshine them. Chef and Erica are wonderful to chat to and have a o-so obvious talent and love for their crafts. There’s zero doubt I will return for a third time“
“Great spot if you are solo or with a partner. Amazing atmosphere for two cases. I came in to try the oyster chowder and it was phenomenal 5/5. I had the amber beer they had on tap and it was delicious. I was fortunate to have the owner man the bar and had a pleasure talking to him. I look forward to coming back and becoming a regular whenever I’m in the city. - some places you stop in and you can tell right away someone takes great care of the place and it’s usually family owned. Much love and respect for the owners and the comfortable, safe space they created.“
“Got take out from here the other day. We ordered the huarrches and enchilades rojas. We like the huarrches because you don't see it on a lot of menu's. I liked how it had beans inside the masa and it came with a generous portion of carnitas. The enchilades were delicious too. Both were slightly pricy, but good food overall. Look forward to eating here in person soon.“
“Food is great, but a little on the pricier side. Vibe / atmosphere is spot on. Most of the staff are well trained and pleasant but the host/ seating process feels inhospitable and overly optimized for efficiency as they will not seat tables even if the majority is there, ready to order, and knows that the table needs to be turned over for a second sitting, making it a bit dysfunctional for larger groups (things happen, sometimes a person will be late and the show must go on).“
“We came in for a 530 reservation and I feel like this experience would have been better when the movie was actually playing. Next time we’ll have to try to get a later reservation! The food was really good but we wish we skipped the arugula salad. It was just okay. The duck and smoked salmon were amazing and the oysters were so good too. The vibe was a little off since it was still light out. Service was okay - our drinks took a long time but after that it was solid.“
“What a delightful, charming, and tasty oasis in the Mission. The food and drinks are thoughtful and packed with flavors, some familiar and soul-warming, others surprising and eye-opening. The space is just the right amount of decor that sets the perfect tone. Most importantly, the owner is so hands-on, a friendly and attentive host who truly cares about every single person who walks through his doors.“
“Up to this point this might be my favorite bar in the city. I appreciated the laid back atmosphere, the delicious hot apple cider with brandy, the cozy seating, and the music. Like where the heck else can you find a live organist and trumpeting who absolutely wail?? Live music Thursday through Sunday, no cover charge but tips are appreciated (and very much deserved) for the musicians. Such a cool spot“
“Beautiful ambiance and delicious Portuguese cuisine, I loved my first outing here with my boo who has been here before. We started off with a yummy potato soup followed by cod and potato fritter. For our entrees, I ordered the bacalhau à Gomes de sá, and my boo ordered the carne de porco à alentejana (I liked his dish a little better). We didn’t skip on dessert, and ordered the beautiful pastel de nata. Will be coming back again!“
“I always forget to take pictures of the food here because we did in so quickly. I love the food here, the restaurant is lovely and comfortable, and the staff are very kind. I love their rotating menu and delicious cocktails. I look forward to the next special occasion that we choose to spend at The Morris.“
“The friendliest staff in the city work here. Also, a killer cocktail menu and the food was superb, we had a proper Guinness with a beef stew and fresh soda bread and it was absolutely delicious, one of our favorite date night spots in the city!“
“Shockingly delicious food. Like, the best food I've eaten at a place that still feels very much like a bar. Good drinks, comfortable seating. It's a great place to hang out with others. I recently had the roasted cabbage salad and it was outstanding.“
“Love this spot! The service is very welcoming and friendly, and the food tastes like a Korean home cooked meal. They don't mess around with flavor here!I would say everything on the menu is a must try, but my favorites are the Hangover Soup, Fried Chicken w/ Yuzu Sauce, and Corn Cheese (addicting). An honorable mention would be the stuffed mushrooms.Lastly, the restaurant is a fun vibe with great music. They have an event almost every week so check out their IG for a party!“
“Great food and service. We like the restaurant and will return. Only two issues. We were seated near the door which is always open and were so cold we needed to wear our jackets the whole time. The restaurant is very noisy inside, so all conversations are very loud and it's tough to hear. Arancinni and wings were excellent, pasta top notch.“
“Excellent espresso coffee, friendly service and a lovely brunch menu. I look forward to returning sometime for dinner. The chef’s were prepping a range of fresh looking ingredients and the smells emanating from the kitchen were beautiful!“
“Recently had dinner here with my best friend and WOW! Service was great, beautiful ambiance and very welcoming! We ordered the truffle french fries, boureki for appetizers. Then we got the kotopoulo brochettes and lamb shank for our entrees. Everything was delicious! Would definitely come back and recommend this place to other people!“
“I first ate here in April of 2023. On that day they received a five-star review. Almost 1 year later, it's even better the second time. The Paneer Tikka Masala is the best I've ever had. It is seasoned to perfection. I order it mild but there is still a tiny tinge of spiciness just for flavor. The garlic cheese naan could not be more fresh. It too is cooked and seasoned to perfection.Service is outstanding. The restaurant is immaculately clean.Castro Indian Restaurant is undoubtedly one of the best, if not the best, Indian restaurant in the San Francisco Bay Area.“
“Local bars like the Dogpatch Saloon are part of a vanishing class of drinking establishments: Friendly vibes where regulars and newcomers are all welcome, dog-friendly, low-key and sort of divey but also classy(??), expert bartenders who treat customers feel like familiar friends, and a great selection of liquors and beers on tap. Walking into this place kinda feels like coming home whether it's your first time here or your fiftieth.“
“This is my go-to spot in the Castro for a well crafted cocktail, good conversations and fun. I always end up meeting with and talking to so many random people. And the fact that I can order a Paper Plane, Naked and Famous, Aviation, or a Last Word with the bartenders not blinking in confusion is priceless - CJ in particular is the BEST.Bonus points for the content on their TVs where you never know what random movie on DVD will be playing from Death Becomes Her to Rat Race to random horror flicks.“
“Amazing food, large portions, strong drinks! I like Daly City original joes much better than the one in the city. Place is always packed which is a green flag. Service is a little slow since it’s always busy but very reasonable. The butter cake dessert is a must try! Drinks are also very strong, 1 cocktail is more than enough to get me tipsy“
“Great food & good service but they do Not accept cash payment. & they'll blame you for not reading it on the menu. If you insist on paying in cash, they will be a dramatic refusal of cash. Not only did we pay in cash we tipped near 30% tip. I just think having a zero cash policy is unwelcoming to many customers & not worth the confrontation. It felt as though cash had zero value but it's a legal tender. I would happily return if cash wasn't refused.“
“This place is such a hidden gem. I got the Kentucky hot chocolate and loved it. My fiancé tried the Weary drifter which was nice too. We also had their shooters made with homemade raspberry infused honey which was pretty good! Loved the vibe of the place with the pool table and juke box. We had such a fun time here!“
“Our go-to when we're in the area. Honestly 6 stars - great service, excellent value for drinks, and amazing jerky. Their cocktails are also great, but we go straight for the rail shot every time. Shot + beer + JERKY, who knew that would be the perfect combo. Choose from any well shot + beer on tap & chase with one of their homemade jerky (my fave is the red eye).. utter perfection. Great for a "chill" night out or as a pregame, I highly recommend!“
“All the bartenders here have a great vibe and all are ready to help you have a great night out. Really love the vibe and drink menu of this place. Find my way here at least once a week… larger crowds on nights with chase or oracle events, more mellow on other nights. If you’re in the hood don’t miss out!“
“Excellent spot.Found the staff to be on point. Everything was on time, waitress was very knowledgeable and had good recommendations but didn't pressure.Food was excellent. Really no complaints. We had the salumi, pea salad, pizza, and cheesecake. Nothing missed. Prices are typical for peninsula (high) but the quality is there to back it up.We sat inside and it was noisy with loud misic, and the large screen TV at the bar was maybe unnecessary. So not a romantic spot but more for a night out with friends or family with older kids. Will definitely come back ASAP!Parking: Right next to large San Mateo city parking garage. Took a while to find a spot but it's free after 6 and there are plenty of spots, you just have to look for a bit since it's such a big lot.“
“The Halfway Club is a welcome addition to the Excelsior. While we were bummed when Broken Record closed we are thrilled for the Halfway Club!Came in on a Friday night as a group of 4 for drinks. We were originally planning to get the $13 cocktails but couldn't refuse the $23 pitcher of hazy IPA.... And then took the recommendation of the Mezcal Paloma which was refreshing with great flavor.Service was amazing with great recs, perfect balance of checking in and letting us hang, and sharing offerings. Also, great music at a volume where you can talk but still enjoy. If you live in the Excelsior or are in the area (e.g. soccer games in Crocker Amazon) you need to drop by and support this place. Will be coming to Tuesday trivia and Wednesday movie night ASAP and getting food (which we hear is great!)“
“Mission bowl delivered as a fun holiday party venue for my office over 10 years ago and working with them again this year on a team event I can say that there are still just as lovely to work with. Costs and menus are clear and easy to understand and their Event lead Gloria is super communicative and easy to work with. Outside of work stuff, the place is just plain fun for birthdays and get togethers. Staff is always friendly, and it's nice to enjoy elevated refreshments that are not your traditional bowling alley sort of grub. Three cheers for the fried chicken. Also love the ability to bowl in the mission instead of trekking downtown!“
“This has been an outstanding experience. We sat at the bar and ordered. - shishito peppers. Outstanding with an umami rich sauce - curry fried chicken - delicious - mussels - one of the best mussel dishes I have ever had - truffled fries - fantastic I cannot remember a better, tastier meal. 5 stars. Please come and support this restaurant. I want them to succeed. Noe Valley is the better for them being a part of this community! Outstanding. Also- a shout out to Alex behind the bar. He could not have been nicer! Wine was also outstanding!“
“Lovely neighborhood spot with delightful Louisiana cuisine in the Stanyan / Cole Valley area!I'm vegetarian and Creole cuisine is always tricky because seemingly vegetarian dishes (e.g. rice & beans) often contain chicken stock or ham. CreoLA does a great job of creating vegetarian food that's authentic and not an afterthought. They have a vegetarian jambalaya that's amazing! The wild mushrooms in it are juicy and full of flavor and it makes me happy I can taste the beautiful flavors of Creole cooking. Also recommended are the hush puppies and the beignets. My partner loves the catfish here and says the fish is cooked just right and it's never over done.“
“I love Valencia Street restaurants, so this one has always been on my bucket list. Luckily, it did not disappoint! Super cute seating outside with the lights and solid pizza to satisfy a craving. As an appetizers, we got the butternut squash arancini ($13.50), which were unique to me with good flavor and texture. For pizzas, we shared the Burrata Red Pie ($24) and Clam White Pie ($24). I enjoyed the clam one more because it was more special and did a great job capturing the flavor. The pizzas are a bit pricey for the size, but I say that as someone from the east coast who has just never gotten used the pizza prices here. I still prefer some pizza spots in North Beach more, but I really enjoyed the different toppings and options here!“
“Short n sweet. Been here twice before just after they opened. Was working in the neighborhood and drifted in about 5:30. Yeah it's solid. Better than before. Best compliment I can give is I wish I lived closer. Well done guys really well done.“
“Reservation required even if you are just one person! With that being said, loved this hidden gem! I like that they have their classic cocktail menu and on the back they have their own version of that cocktail. Everyone was really nice. Plus free popcorn!“
“Best cocktails on Valencia Street ??✨ They always serve a special slushy here and I’m a slushy girl so today I got the “Miami Nice”. It was pure rum deliciousness wrapped in tropical vibes and perfect in warm weather. Also had their signature Beehive cocktail, which wasn’t my favorite but husband liked it.We sat outside in the parklet and enjoyed some apps, along with all the friendly dogs walking by.Decent ice program - I think they get theirs from Blind Tiger. Service was lovely & very attentive.“
“I am officially sold. This place used to be a dive, but they've invested a good amount in here to make it friendly, cozy, and modern. The walls have been redone, the lighting is new, and the fixtures are all new. There's a super long bar area and plenty of booths and counters as well. Service is great, and their happy hour is $3 off everything. Honestly, it's kind of a steal, and you get to bring in food from neighboring restaurants. We were here on a Friday night and it wasn't super packed. You could still talk to your friends and watch whatever was playing through their regular broadcast networks. Will be back!“
“My friend recommended I check this place out. What a wonderful experience. It is a very cozy homey space great wine, lasagna to die for, small bites and salad were excellent too and great company. Owners are super friendly and fun to chat with. Had to bring my husband there. He loved it as well. And a 20% discount happy hour is cherry on top.“
“A fun bar with good ambiance. Loud but not too loud. Big space with plenty of seats and screens. I love their glowing paintings on the wall. They also have plenty of old school video game consoles for a quarter a game. They will bring back memories. We watched the 49er's game here and they won. What a fund night. Their drinks are delicious and reasonable priced. Will try their food next time.“
“It was late night order and I’ve never had a burger dog before but wanted to try since frisco fried out them on the scene back in the day. Ordered my door dash and couldn’t wait. As soon as they arrive I could smell the goodness so I take my pics and dive in.Burger Dog: Hefty on the meat, felt like it was more beef than an actual burger and I wanna say easier to eat. Only change I would add bacon and that’s my bad. Very good burger dog!Bacon Hot Dog: Butterflied Beef Dog with crispy bacon! Another hit.Very simple menu options but they hit it out the park. Would definitely double back to this spot to try them fresh.Parking: It’s on 20th street so not impossible but keep your eyes open spots get taken fastKid-friendliness: Burgers, Hot Dogs, Fries I think so….Wheelchair accessibility: It’s in San Francisco it has to be accessible“
“We rented out the whole bar a couple weeks ago for a group event and it was fantastic. Amazing drinks, atmosphere, and service. Our friend group has been coming here for many years — our only regret is that they stopped selling branded hats as we would totally buy some :3“
“I went here for a girls night and had a great time. The head chef/bartender was absolutely amazing and catered to us personally. The bouncer also came and check on us multiple time. We had amazing food and drinks. The music was fantastic .We’ll definitely will be back.“
“Came to Mosto on a Sunday evening after a mezcal tasting event, as they were having a "post-event after party" with discounted drinks and cocktails. It was super packed so we grabbed seating outside near some heating lamps. We grabbed a few mezcal shots, which came with spiced orange slices, as well as the tacos for our group. We also grabbed hamburgers (which came with chips) and quesadilla (came in two a plate). For the taco and quesadilla plates, it came with their house spicy sauce which was delicious. I enjoyed my first trip here at Mosto and will definitely want to come back for good mezcal and mexican food!“
“Good rating because it’s my favorite and I come here all the time. But whenever I order and it’s the owner that takes my order: it’s late, cold, and wrong. Dude what the hell! Your staff is trained better than you. There was no rush and nothing complicated was ordered.“
“This super cool lounge style bar with yummy bar bites in the sunset district is the only one of it's kind on the west side of the city. The beautiful interiors have tons of seating options for groups large and small. The atmosphere is lively while still feeling laid back. The open room can get loud when busy but remains feeling intimate and cozy in the booths. Warm enough inside to get dressed up on the weekend while still casual for afterwork drinks. I absolutely adore this place and cannot recommend it highly enough.“
“I’ve spent a good chunk of my life in Italy and am admittedly a huge pizza snob as a result. This is the best Neapolitan Pizza I’ve had outside the old country, and it’s not particularly close (even better than their awesome North Beach location!). The staff is super friendly. Also, great happy hour deal! I eat here an embarrassing amount and you should too.“
