The prominent exterior 'Commis' signage is actually positioned over a secondary doorway—blocked by a rope and obscured by a black curtain—which I mistakenly flagged as the threshold. After waiting until 5:06 PM, I stepped further east down the sidewalk to discover the actual entrance. Once inside, check-in was seamless. I was engineered into a stunning table boasting an uncompromised, direct line of sight into the kitchen —an ideal vantage point for observation. For those driving, district parking is highly efficient; there is an open lot a three-minute walk away completely integrated with the ParkMobile app.

The dining room operates with high aesthetic intent. The table setting is beautifully minimalist, accented by fresh floral arrangements. Ambient audio consists of low-profile, rhythmic electronic beats without discernible tracking, allowing the focus to remain on the room’s acoustics. Notable property asset: the restroom features neatly folded, reusable linen cloths, a detail I always inspect and appreciate.

The beverage program opened strong with a well-balanced cocktail featuring a flawless, hyper-clarified ice block cleanly monogrammed with the house branding.

Crucially, the clearing of empty plates was immediate, and successive courses materialized without a single dead gap. Staff check-ins were frequent but entirely non-invasive. This baseline pace never wavered, holding perfectly steady even as the dining room reached peak capacity later in the evening. A masterfully managed system.“

“My experience at D.Monaghans on the hill was very good I must say! The brunch we had for mother's day was great!!! Oh my plate I had an omelette that you can build your own omelette menu I put all vegetables in my omelette with a side of turkey sausage any black cup of coffee also I had a bowl of shrimp and grits they were delicious so don't sleep on this place. Also my family enjoyed the food as much as I did even my grandson couldn't stop eating the great food. “The decor was festive and abundant in the best way possible, and the cocktails looked unique and curiosity-piquing. I narrowed my choices down to a Cafe Sua Daddy and the Soy Sauce Old Fashioned.

I love a savory drink and the sweet caffeinated espresso martini-esque drink had a thick blanket of just-salty-enough foam reminiscent of the salt cream that tops a boba drink. The Soy Sauce Old Fashioned catapulted me back to my childhood, eating slabs of tofu drenched in shoyu at my grandma's house. I loved the custom soy bottle presentation, it was just strong enough to tolerate being poured over a large rock while maintaining its flavor.

My partner had the Umami Tots and Mapo Tofu. I couldn't resist the siren song of some crispy potatoes dunked in chili oil cream, but managed to hold myself back on the tofu- even though it smelled amazing.

Can't wait to return and try the new seasonal drinks, along with more snacks.“

“Finally, was able to try this location. Small dining-in area but most will take out anyway. I had the combo fried fish platter. It was fantastic, although the fish portion was a bit overcooked but it was still tasty. It also came w/fried oysters and fried prawns with the obligatory french fries side. I took off a star on the food part (for the overcooked fish - it was a sole/flounder-like fish that was probably more than dipped in the frying medium - but like I said, it was still tasty). I still gave a 5-star overall rating. All the rest of the fish was fried/cooked perfectly. They oysters were especially good. I think on my next visit, I'll get oyster platter. The french fries were excellent too but there were lots of them, I couldn't finish them all. They also have poke, sushi/sashimi and that will sampled on the upcoming returns. “I absolutely love Fifth Wheel and have been going almost every Saturday for the past few years with my partner. It started when he moved to the area and we were looking for a new breakfast spot. The other spots just didn't hit the mark, but Fifth Wheel has been consistent. Everyone on staff is so nice and the restaurant is cozy. It's not too big inside, so you may be waiting, but it never takes too long during the peak times on Saturdays. Ordering to go is also a nice and quick option if you don't want to wait.“

Tina has been very responsive, kind and passionate about what she does. I love how she gives back to the community and making us feel like home. I definitely would book again for a future event. “Amy's is hands down the best breakfast joint in Hayward, hands down. The service is absolutely amazing every time we go (every other sunday for the last 3 years). They remember our names and our order preference, they even always remember to leave the powdered sugar off my pancakes whiteout me asking. The mood is wonderful, it's not loud inside, and they also have outdoor seating as well.
