“Grilled meats like beef and chicken are pretty good. Not spicy enough when I ask for extra spicy. There is only usually one person running the cashier and serving the food. It is a pretty small spot, but can seat probably around 40 people. Not busy most of the time I've visited.“

They even prepared warm water for us when we asked for it. The spiciness of the barbecue was also very suitable. People like the fat intestines and chicken clavicle the most.?“

“I'm from the East Coast (NY) and recently my Brother in-law and I visited a few cities in the state of California. First, we spent a few days visiting family in Los Angeles and Santa Ana. At the last minute of booking the trip, my Brother in-law decided he wanted to visit an old college buddy named Roderick (Roddy) in Oakland. He mentioned that Roddy had a BBQ restaurant named Roderick's BBQ. So the plan was to fly down from Santa Ana to San Francisco, make the drive to Oakland and spend our final evening in California hanging out with Roddy at his restaurant. I didn't know what to expect because I had never met him. Well, he rolled out the red carpet along with some of the finest food (not just BBQ) you will ever have in your life. You name it, we had it, and it all tasted incredible. Ribs, Tri-Tip, BBQ Chicken, Hot Links, Fried Chicken, Fried Catfish, French Fries, Mac & Cheese, and Potato Salad. The Ribs were tender and perfectly cooked, as was the BBQ Chicken. The Tri-Tip was tender and just melted in your mouth. The Hot Links had the perfect amount of flavor and heat. The fried chicken and catfish was perfectly seasoned, juicy, and tasted great. The french fries had a light dusting of their in-house seasoning that was absolutely amazing. The Potato Salad and Mac & Cheese was incredible as well and to wash it all down was some of the most amazing Kool-Aid ever. The type of Kool-Aid that takes you back to your childhood. You better believe the next time I'm on the West Coast, I'm getting me some Roderick's BBQ. This place is a hidden gem and if you live in the Oakland area, you should run (not walk) to Roderick's BBQ immediately and try some of this amazing food. If you live 1-2 hours away, it's definitely worth the drive. Pull up a chair, enjoy the food, and tell Roddy that Chris and Sean sent you and he'll take good care of you. Plus, he's a great guy, a great storyteller, but he's an even better cook.Kudos to Roderick's BBQ!!!“

“Cocurry was here forever, but even the last time we came, it wasn't the same. Kong Sarang, on the other hand was hopping! The place quickly filled up after we arrived. That always happens to us. We ordered the seafood pancake and the combo of pork belly and tofu soup. They quickly served us with 8 varieties of banchan. I was a tad disappointed that we didn't get asked like the tables around us if we wanted any refills on the banchan. I felt like once we ordered and our food came out, we turned into red-headed step-children, and they forgot about Dre. The food was good. Comparable to Tofu House in Newark. The seafood pancake was hefty. She's a big girl. One could get full just off of that. We probably would return if in the mood for Korean food.“

Everything was delicious and you could tell the owner truly cared about his restaurant and every dish that came out. He recommended the bulgogi japchae, the sweet and spicy chicken, and the potstickers. (Sorry for not getting exact names right) I ordered the soy garlic chicken as well. Let me tell you, that is the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Every bite was crispy, juicy, and flavorful and all of the other sides were delicious as well. I am so glad we found this place and my mom and I truly had a great night. Thank you so much for your kindness and we will be back :)“

We come for the FILIPINO STYLE barbecue and friendly service. Everything is great! Especially when the mother-in-law makes a surprise visit and cooks up her specialty pansit (not on the menu). Everything is fresh and cooked (and barbecued) with love. I think we’ve tried everything now. My favorite is toss between the FILIPINO STYLE barbecue Banh Mi sandwich and “THANK QUE” chicken bowl. “I've had this place bookmarked for 3 months and finally got the chance to go. After reading reviews, I went early and started lining up at 11:40am and there was already ~20 parties ahead of us. Once they opened, someone came out with brisket samples. It took about an hour til we were ordering. I've never had Texas BBQ so I can't compare but the meats were so good!! The brisket was fatty, smoky, and well seasoned. The beef back ribs were a little smokier also delicious. The bbq sauce and pickled onions made for the perfect bite, along with the sides. The nasi goreng was a pretty standard fried rice that paired with the meat but I wouldn't get it again. The slaw is refreshing and was very peanutty but I wish it was a little more acidic. The rendang plate was a miss for me. The brisket was very dry and it was too smoky for my liking for a curry. I LOVED the kale curry side in the plate though. I don't like kale but I would eat it all the time if it was always cooked like this lol. I suggest getting the belado plate to try a different meat. I would definitely come back and wait an hour again and try the rest of their menu. :)“

My kids loved the taro chips. I also got the lamb plate with the palau. Tasty. My daughter liked the lamb. The sausage had a bit of kick to it. I got extra mango salad instead of the cassava. “I've been coming here for over 10 years. It's my favorite Korean restaurant. The banchan is always fresh and delicious, plus they give you lots of them. There are a good amount of additional items you can get with all you can eat, we usually get the kimchi pancake, corn cheese (sounds weird but it's good) and maybe the pan fried dumplings. My favorite are the boneless marinated short ribs and bulgogi and my friend likes the brisket. The meat is good quality and you can tell they make everything in house. Yeah, it's not super cheap but it's the same price as other similar places or hot pot.For delivery I usually get the rice cake and dumpling soup. It's so good! And makes me feel better if I'm getting sick. You still get banchan and rice with delivery, so if you think about it with all the delicious side dishes included it's a pretty good deal.I still see the same owners as when I first started going here, I'm glad it's still in the same hands. It's consistently good. The one thing I'm not as fond of is the fried chicken.. it's not crispy.Service is good, sometimes they forget something.. but it's not a big deal, just remind them or ask again. It's pretty busy sometimes so it's impressive they remember all the different things people ask for refills for...Parking isn't great, but I always find a spot within a couple blocks. People mention the area is dicey at night. It's not that bad. Not as good as ten years ago, but just don't leave stuff in your car (like the rest of Oakland) and you'll be fine.“

The ribs were in my opinion cooked perfectly. The pork belly delicious. The potato salad was a hit. An what can I say about that yard bird, off the grill so yum yum. Definitely made it into my top 5 BBQ spots. Now I have to buy an energy drink because I'm losing this 1v2 against Itis, and Sandman.“

“Went to Wah Jee Wah for the first time. Gave me the feel of roadside restaurants in India without the grime and dirt. Line was long and the parties ahead of us were indecisive and took forever to order which was annoying. There's a huge menu on the wall so it would be helpful t9 know what you want before holding up the line. You order first and then you can sit right outside the ordering window, inside, or the covered patio. We ordered gol gappe, chicken skewer combo, butter chicken, garlic naan, and mango lassi. There was some confusion with the gol gappe. There's a cart in front and you are supposed to get a ticket to get the gol gappe. We never got a ticket and weren't sure of the system. We took our number and sat in the outside patio. The first item that came was the butter chicken. It was tasty, but then the rest of the order did not come for a long time which sucked because by the time the naan came the butter chicken was lukewarm. I wish they brought the dishes at once or all together. The garlic naan and chicken skewer combo was good. The special sauce with the combo is the curry from the butter chicken. The mango was lassi was not good! It was watery and very tart! I would not get this drink again. Staff was helpful and attentive especially with figuring out the goal gappe situation which we ended up going to the cart at the end of the meal when we were pretty full. Wish we got the ticket at the start so we could have had those first. Other than that the food was great and the serving staff were super kind even though they were super busy! I'd come back and try the chole bhature which look really good!“

She also brought us soooo many bonchons (note you do have to order an entree for bonchons) We ordered a lot of food which did take some time to trickle out but we understand as Gina seems to be the only server that night. Korean pancake - 4.5/5 I loved this one cause it was thick and very crispy. My friend did say she prefers the pancake at Sisters House tho because it's thinner there Tofu soup - 3.5/5 it was a lil underwhelming and not salty enough and I feel it was missing a little depth of flavor. My friend and I both prefer the tofu soup at Sisters House BBQ Pork Sizzling Platter - wasn't very well charred. I don't usually get sizzling platters but the ones at Sisters House is better The fried chicken - 4.5/5 very good! I liked the crispiness of the chicken and inside was juicy. You do have to pay extra $2 for flavoring or for it to be crispy so keep that in mind. We did dip this into our tteokbokki/sausage sauce which Gina recommended Tteokbokki/sausage skewers - 3/5 I thought it was just okay for the price of what it was lol. I don't love the sausage but the tteokbokki did have a nice lil crisp to it on the outside but with that familiar chew once you get to the center“

“THEY HAVE SOLO AYCE. If you are a traveler in need of KBBQ, this is the place. I had the bulgogi, galbi, brisket, squid, corn cheese, soondubu, japchae, banchan (I was hungry) and all were satisfying, while the meats were really good. Kimchi was a little too tart (seemed over-ripened, not sure it's made on site) but totally decent, japchae and soondubu likewise weren't as good as a normal korean restaurant but great as accoutrements. Service was fine and I liked how they asked if I wanted 1 or 2 galbi pieces. Brisket was lean, bulgogi and galbi marinades were spot-on. Legit meats, legit smokey and dim interior, and now I have to return home out of state where none such experiences exist for a solo diner.“

“Came here for the first time and it was better than I expected. When you get inside it's a bit overwhelming due to numerous menus all over with different items and combinations as well as being surrounded by a large L shape counter of food to look at and order from. This spot is small and is full of boxes when you walk in. There is no seating inside or outside. It's an order and go kinda place. The woman helping us was very friendly and even gave us a fried fish piece. They gave us very large portions as well. I had the bbq pork and chow mein combo. You can pick between thick or thin noodle chow mein and they top it off with steamed cabbage. The noddles were pretty tasty but were a bit oily for my liking. The bbq pork had a nice flavor and I really appreciate the generous helping. It did have quite a bit of fat in between the pieces so I had to dissect most of it. I don't know if that's something they could really control though. The steamed buns with red bean paste was the shining star! In the past I haven't been a big fan of red bean paste but these buns have converted me. They were soft and bouncy with a good amount of red bean paste. It wasn't too sweet either. It complimented the bun nicely. Overall I would come back and try them again and will for sure order more steamed buns.“
