We didn’t have to wait much at all (15 min) when we arrived at 7pm on Saturday. This was lucky. The queue very quickly filled while we waited. Some reviews said hostesses were unfriendly—not true at all for us. Others didn’t enjoy their pizza. But we ordered the Sicilian and white pizzas and loved them. They were even good after they cooled down. You should expect a hefty pizza though! It’s not a thin crust pizza. Between two people we had two pizzas and the Caesar salad. This was the perfect amount of food. We also tried two non alcoholic beverages, a wine and a beer. The beer is shockingly good and you cannot tell it has no alcohol. Everyone we interacted with was friendly. The person at the counter who took our order stood out. He was communicative, accommodating, and welcoming. This is a place I am sure we will frequent ?We left around 9:30pm and there was a long line out the door of people waiting. “Chicago Style Deep Dish is definitely one of the best pizzas I've had and they are always on time with their orders. If you're willing to wait a bit till you get your pizza it's definitely worth it. Specifically the Griffin is amazing and the Main if you're looking for something with traditional toppings. Service is always nice and have no problems with them whatsoever. It's a cool touch considering that in the morning it's a bakery and later in the evening it turns into a pizza place. I would definitely recommend coming here.“

The Manicotti was so good and the chocolate cake with a glass of moscato was the perfect way to end the meal. 5 stars!“

“Honestly, came here for the 4.9 rating on Google and the place honestly didn’t disappoint! David is super duper friendly, helped us with some questions and had a smile througout. That’s what i guess good customer service is. They have pizza slices but we ordered a small pesto chicken pizza and it is the BEST i have had till date. The pesto had a nice tangy flavor to it, chicken was cooked to perfection and the crust had just that perfect crunch! This place is a MUST visit. Thank me later :)“

Once we arrived we were immediately taken to our table. The owner had already set the table with a couple of starters. We had sliced goat cheese, Mediterranean salad, and yogurt with fresh bread.We were given some time to enjoy our starters before the main dishes started coming out. “This is one of my favorite pizza places now. The photo gallery in their website totally does the pizza justice. It is as good as it photographs! I never had Detroit-style pizza. I don't take part in the Great Pizza Debate with regional styles vying for Best Pizza Ever. Pizza is either good or it's average. The flavors and textures between cheese, crust and sauce are either balanced and each component delicious, or the magic just doesn't happen. Whenever I try thick, rectangular pizza slices I'm always disappointed in either sauce, cheese, or crust. I always hoped that pizza would taste like these slices. This pizza is the paradigm of what a thick square slice of pizza should be-- a sauce that is deliciously balanced between sweet, tangy, and savory-- the perfect intermediary between cheese and carbs. Speaking of carbs, a nice thick crust, just doughy enough to feel your teeth sink into, but with the edges perfectly carmelized to support the slice as it makes its way to your pizza pie-hole. The cheese was-- well, cheese, but cheese that goes all the way to the edge of the crust, caramelized to a deep golden brown against the pie pan. On this maiden visit, we tried both the Margherita and the Biggio. The Biggio is their version of a meat lover's pizza-- pepperoni, Italian sausage, ham, and bacon. The ham and bacon, however, lent a smoky flavor -- almost too barbecue-ish -- for a non-bbq pizza. I know this is Detroit pizza but it was almost a little too un-Italian to us. The Margherita pizza, on the other hand, was crave-worthy. The cheese, sauce, and crust converged into a balance of flavor -- sweet, savory, and tangy, as well as texture -- doughy, crispy, the cheesy stretchiness, the caramelized edges.... I thought this slice was pizza, pure and simple, delicious in its simplicity. Even the tomato slices seemed to be cut the right thickness. I got ours to-go and tried calling ahead-- several times. No go, so I had to order when I got there. The pizzaria (suite #203) lives on the second floor of a two story mini-mall, overlooking the street-side dining lanes on Colorado. The parking lot is also on the second floor which is convenient, the entrance of which is on Mentor, just south of Colorado. Our order took 20 minutes to prepare-- well worth the wait. We also ordered a Caesar salad. Their Caesar was a mix of iceberg and romaine and was fine. Just know that their Caesar salads are tossed-- a dealbreaker for some if you're not into lifeless salads. Just remember this if you're ordering to-go and have to drive a ways before digging in. There is no soda fountain in the restaurant. Beverages are canned. After trying their pizza I appreciate this. I also liked how their menu is simple-- there are just two salads offered and most importantly their pizza, but really, their pizza is all you'll really need. Detroit or otherwise, it's just really good pizza.“

She suggested this restaurant just for the brussel sprout salad! The whiskey selection was pretty wide, but sadly my choice of Bookers seemed to finish off a bottle (according to the bartender) and my pour was pretty minimal. Other than that, everything was perfect ... oh, except no cookies . Those salty, chocolate chip cookies are amazing! But no cookies ...“
“While looking for a nearby pizza spot, Alitalia Pizzeria came up on our Yelp search. Their Pizza By the Slice option was very appealing so my boyfriend and I decided to check it out. The location itself was on the small side. A bench and a few chairs for waiting but not a table to sit down to eat. Unfortunately when we got here they said the Pizza by the Slice option was only available until 4pm. That's fine but I wish they depicted it better on the menu. Had we known that wasn't an option in the evening, we would have called in our order instead of waiting around for a pizza to get made from scratch. I think we already had our stomachs set on the pepperoni so we decided to get their medium Pepperoni Pizza ($16.45). Then for the waiting that could have been avoided. It felt like forever. The one nice thing is they let you grab as much parmesan cheese and chili flakes as you want. The interesting thing is that their sign said they close at 8pm on Sundays but they closed up as soon as we left slightly after 7pm. In retrospect we were contemplating what else we should have gotten or even their half and half option. But not having the pizza by the slice thing and more labelling of such really threw me off. Anyways as to the pizza, my boyfriend thought the crust could have been thinner. I felt like it was oily. I was blotching the pizza like teenage oily acne skin. We both felt like we might be back for the pizza by the slice deal but we aren't in a hurry to try their full pizzas. The cost is high and the satisfaction isn't all the way there.“

Every dish can feed you at least once, and there are plenty of choices such as pasta carbonara, chicken piccata, sandwiches, empanadas, salads, etc. We have only used outdoor seating and it was pouring rain the last time we went. They had prepared for that with large canopies and even offered dessert on the house. Desserts are hard to choose as each delicacy is mouth-watering. Offerings include a variety of gelato, cheesecake, a pistachio-based pastry, tiramisu, chocolate cookies, and cherry tarts, to name a few. Parking is a little bit of a challenge if you arrive late. There is street parking and some paid parking. You may want to park on Colorado as parking is free after 6pm. And it's ready pretty quickly, which is nice. Another big plus is the beautiful original art on the walls by a number of highly talented younger artists. Yes! Make original art a part of your daily life and support the artists who make it. Also, the counter people are always friendly and welcoming and they often bring your order out to you. I doubt that's in their job description, but it's a nice touch. It's basically a takeout operation - a small space with no tables inside - but there are benches and milk crates on the sidewalk for an al fresco meal and a small stand-up counter you can eat at. And Kumquat, a few doors down, is an EXCELLENt coffee bar, and there's on OG liquor store that has a great selection of beers and if you want to go that route. Of course, you can always get your food packaged to go, but it's all so tasty I always eat it there as soon as I get it.“

The adults tried the broccoli crust, which was interesting. I'd be interested to try more crusts if we lived closer! My kids love pizza and they ate their slice as quickly as it cooled down (they don't like their food hot). Nice music playing in the background and Home Alone on the TV when we arrived. You can park in the structure across the street or down on the surface street meter parking. They have a handicap lift to get up and down if you need. The only reason for the 4 instead of 5 stars is no high chairs for kids nor do they have a changing table in the restroom for kids.“

Ordering online with a scheduled pick up time: check. Arrive to find our pizza waiting: check. Super friendly owner right there behind the counter: check. We got home, folded up the slices and dove in. And yes, this was the real deal. Not so secret any more!Next time I'll get there early, watch the pie come out of the oven and dive in right on the sweet patio, then come home and warm up the rest.
