“My wife and I eat at Ciccia’s regularly but this is our first review after 4 years. Sorry Francesca and Mario! (In my defense I practically never ever write a review.) We keep coming back for the food, ambiance and hospitality. **We’ve gone 3 times in the last week! The crab gnocchi is my wife’s favorite. I get something different almost every time. Every visit I ask Mario about the specials as I like to sample the beef and/or fish (Branzino!) they prepare in addition to pasta. Try the Tomahawk steak if it’s a special that day (call ahead) and you will be amazed. Too many times we fill up on appetizers like mushroom flan, breaded zucchini, calamari, antipasto, and the choices go on! But that’s what to-go containers are for. So much good food to eat at Ciccias we tend to order too many things. It is simply fun to dine there. Once you’re inside the restaurant area (patio area or indoor area) the ambiance is quaint and cozy. Ciccia’s is not big and it’s always filled, but we never feel like it’s too crowded. The energy is always fun and upbeat. Which makes people stay awhile, so let me recommend getting reservations. We’ve had to wait 10-15 minutes but nothing’s perfect! If you want a breezy quick dinner before going off to an event you may want to go to Ciccia’s on another night. Hospitality is what you would expect of a small Italian restaurant run by the owners. Terrific!! If it’s your first time, read their story on the website before you go. They are bona fide top chefs who followed their dreams to open their own place. What a gem it is tucked inside Barrio Logan. One thing regulars may notice is that staff doesn’t appear to turn over much as I’ve seen the same faces working there for years. I think that reflects well on the restaurant. I don’t take pictures of food very often but last night I did. We stopped by at around 9 just to get dessert and a cocktail. My wife had the ricotta cake with apricot and habanero sauce (wow!) and I had cassata siciliana which is traditional cake from Sicily. Pretty to look at and yes, it’s delicious. They do a good job with making an Old Fashioned, which always pairs well with dessert 😜 Buon appetito!“

“I recently visited a new restaurant and was impressed with the excellent service provided by the attentive staff. They had an extensive menu with a lot of food options that I wasn't familiar with. After some consideration, I decided to try the beef noodle soup and JCK pork dumplings, and I was delighted to find that they were delicious. I am definitely planning to return to this restaurant in the future.“

“Quality Thai food that tastes great!! It’s a minute drive away from Kaiser Otay and I’ve found myself stopping by after my appointments for lunch or for a Thai tea. For the $5, the size they offer their teas are a good price. All the times I’ve been here, service has been great and friendly. Plus points for always playing a throwback RnB music playlist. Parking is seamless and never an issue here.“

“I’m a local customer for over 25 years. I love this place every thing is well prepare with love. The owners are always happy to see the customers! One of my favorite is the Mexican Mocha, the breakfast sandwich. To say the least everything on the menu is excellent. I’ve rather support this small family coffee shop, then Starbucks. “I walked in here on my birthday on my way to the zoo, but when I walked in the aroma of the food ? made me sit down on the spot. Once I looked at the menu and seen shaken beef it was over for me AND they have Mexican Coke too!!! One of the nice ladies recommended their wings and asked if I liked spice I said yes and she took care of it from there. I also noticed they have blended Vietnamese coffee ?so that actually has been keeping me coming back at least once a week. Now I just call my order ahead when I leave work from the Scripps Ranch area and swing by and pick it up on my way home.“

“What an adorable cafe! We had reservations & it was packed for lunch on a Thursday. I had Eggs Benedict & my daughter ordered the Quiche. Both arrived quickly & both were fantastic! The portions are huge. We had to have take home box. It is someplace we definitely want to go back to.Dietary restrictions: I can’t have spicy food, onions, peppers, chile… they were happy to accomodate.Wheelchair accessibility: They make room for wheelchair and there is also seating outside, in front of the cafe.“

“Many have enjoyed the pasta, pizza and salad at Buona Forchetta. My review is on their brunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings. It’s not well known that they are offering one of the best brunches in Coronado. We had the Eggs Benedict and it was delicious with one of the best hollandaise sauces I’ve ever had. The homemade English muffin and all of the ingredients were top notch. The restaurant was empty on a Friday morning so I think it’s time that the word got out that just a short walk from Orange Avenue, there is an outstanding brunch with a varied innovative menu! “This hidden gem is located in Barrio Logan close by 28th street. Great customer service. It was such a comforting family friendly environment. We ordered the chicken banh mi, rice noodles with bbq chicken & shrimp plus egg roll combo plate and 6 crispy egg rolls. Everything tasted delicious , freshly made and very authentic food. “We had the privilege of being served by Jordan and he was fabulous. Jordan recommended the Chicken Valdestano and it was perfect. My wife had the Mediterranean salad with a Super Tuscan wine. “Enjoying brunch outside at Feast and Fareway. This is our 2nd visit on our Cornado trip. Today we had the French toast and pancake sampler as well as the blue crab Benedict. So yummy and we will return! Savannah is an excellent server as well!The view is amazing with the bay and the bridge and right on the golf course. Came in a metal bowl that could not be touched because it was so hot. Also, lacked salt which we asked for. No salt or pepper on table. Received a tiny little bowl with not much salt in it. Very noisy. Very expensive which we knew from their website. Good place for a special occasion.“

“BEST SERVICE! I was waiting for a friend, who was pretty late, they served me a drink and didn't hassle me about sitting there. When she arrived we talked 2 hours. They checked on us, even brought us bags (we had a lot of gifts for each other). I never felt rushed. Food was large portions, great chips and salsa! We felt very comfortable. Even Miguel's family came by to say hello. Great location by a lake with indoor or outdoor seating.“

“May 2024. Not as good as last year. Hit and miss. The inside ambience was certainly lacking with "white out" and a painted table. The service was nice, but it was slow and discombobulated. It took forever to get our 1st drinks and forever to get our bill. The sequencing of bringing out our food was poor as well. The food was mostly good. Standouts included the octopus and several of the potato dishes. Misses included the oysters (too small) and scallops (small portion, salty, and overcooked). Be sure to order the lamb on the rare side - I ordered MR and it came out M+. They were out of the 1st two wines we ordered, and the wine list wasn't extensive. My biggest gripe was no horseradish. How can you serve oysters, lamb, steak, and Bloody Marys and have no horseradish in the house?!?Vegetarian options: Enough“

“We are regular visitors of Imperial Beach but have not tried Siam Imperial Thai kitchen. I’m not sure why we waited so long. The order was prepared promptly and was ready at the pick up time quoted. We went fairly basic with our order but were not disappointed. The chicken satay skewers were cooked to perfection and were tender and delicious. We had an order of the yellow curry chicken, which was full flavor and the spice was on point. The speciality combo included a tasty spring roll, light and flaky tempura shrimp, two wontons and a choice of soup or salad. We opted for the coconut soup, and it was absolutely amazing. The coconut flavor mixed with a little bit of spice and saltiness tickled the palette and left us very satisfied. From now on every trip to IB will include at least one meal at Siam Imperial Thai kitchen.“

I tried the California burrito and a carnitas taco.The burrito was better than the taco—the carnitas was kind of odd, more like little bits of pork belly, and had a strange aftertaste. The burrito was filled up with carne asada, though I wish it had had more cheese.The interior is kind of dump-y, but it’s also in the hood kinda, so it’s what you’d expect. “Tucked in a corner known mostly to locals, Garcia's Mexican Food is a hidden gem I discovered through social media. It's small, with limited parking, offering both cozy indoor seating and take-out. Opting for the carne asada plate, I was quickly served by the friendly staff. The food, especially the carne asada, had a great flavor to it. The flour tortillas that came with my meal were also very tasty.Owned by a welcoming family, this place adds a personal touch to the dining experience. I'm looking forward to returning for breakfast. If you're after a spot that feels exclusive and serves great food, Garcia's is it.“

Beer was fresh. The food was good-very good. Would love to return and try some other food items.Great environment.Street parking available along Orange Avenue...we didn't have a problem finding a space at that time.“
