“We were treated here by one of my rich friends and honestly, that’s probably the only scenario where a place like this makes sense for treating the whole family out. My family has a very high bar for food. People say I’m picky, and I’m like, “Please… meet my mother.”

Service-wise, this place is flawless. The staff is charming, attentive, and somehow manages to make you feel both fancy and comfortable at the same time.

Since it’s family style, we shared practically everything and with a party of seven, those plates add up fast. By the time the table was full, the bill was basically giving luxury vacation energy.

Out of everything we tried, the Radiatori Braised Beef Ragu was the clear standout. Rich, comforting, and the kind of pasta that shuts everyone up at the table for a minute.

The Garlic Knot bread was good, though we weren’t big on the pieces with the garlic ends. After some research (and by research, I mean a heated family debate followed by frantic Googling), we realized that’s a pretty common thing in restaurants — just not our personal preference. Oh and the drinks were on point :)

Overall, a lovely, polished meal… definitely best enjoyed when someone else is picking up the tab.“

Now let’s talk about the pizza… hands down some of the best I’ve had. Perfectly cooked, rich flavors, and just the right balance of cheese, sauce, and toppings. You can tell they care about quality. Every bite had that “I need another slice” kind of magic.

On top of all that — the prices were totally fair. Great food at a good price? Can’t beat it.

“Went on a pizza crawl to a few spots I wanted to try out after seeing the One Bite reviews from Dave, hands down Joe’s is the best pie I’ve had in California. After we hit a few spots, we had to go back to Joe’s late at night to grab a few more slices. Great Pie and amazing staff 🤘“

From the moment you step in you sense it — the warmth of a family-owned place, staff with Brazilian-inflected smiles, and a menu that balances comfort and flair. (Their “Meat Lovers” is my go-to: sausage, bacon, pepperoni, caramelized onions and mozzarella — chef’s kiss.)
And when I want something built for taste-adventure, I order the “Chiapas” and another salad to-go. It’s authentic Brazilian style meeting American love for pizza, and they nail it.

What makes Sampa’s even more special with my crew:
We walk out of our workout, gather our tribe, and immediately feel “our table” is waiting.

“I stopped in for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon and was greeted immediately and was directed to a booth. My friend ordered the Banh MI Bowl and I told her it was very good! I've had it before. I was craving the Thai Crunch Salad, Large. I couldn't finish it so I took the rest home and had it the next day and it was still yummy. The grilled chicken in this salad was cooked perfectly and the grilled taste, amazing!! Faruq, our server was On Point and was very attentive with a smile! He definitely has pride in his job, which is rare these days. I will return to those location again!“

“A friend and I visited Il Forno Trattoria last Saturday. After we left, my friend realised she had lost her grandmother's ring, of great sentimental value. We telephoned the restaurant even though it had already closed for the night, and the team immediately invited us back to search. When we arrived, the staff were cleaning up but had already started to look for the ring and helped us look through the restrooms and, kitchen. At least three or four employees actively helped, including providing gloves and helping us go through the trash to ensure it was lost in a restroom trash can. It was clear that everyone was genuinely concerned and willing to do whatever they could. Although the ring was not found, their professionalism, empathy, and willingness to stay late and actively help without question have left a lasting impression. I mustn’t forget the meal itself had been excellent: well‑prepared dishes, attentive yet unobtrusive service, and a well‑chosen wine list. “I haven't tried the pizza yet, but want to sing the praises of the people who run the place. I'd gone in to get a coke (in a bottle,
one of the few places that has bottled Coke) for a scene in my acting class across the street. Turns out my car keys fell out of my purse and I didn't realize it..come midnight after class I was frantically searching the area and didn't find it. The next day I went back to keep searching. I remembered the Coke i bought and headed to check there. The pizza place was closed but the door was propped open so I went in calling for whom ever was in the back but no one heard me. That's when I spotted my keys off to the side of the counter! I can't tell you the relief and gratitude I felt. “Hi I love this cafe - the food is healthy, tasty and wide-ranging in cuisines, and the people, Mimi and Justin, make it feel like another home. Mimi is a warm, consummate professional who can handle anything, events-wise, and the space is versatile for any kind of casual and convivial gathering. This place is one of my favorite “third spaces” for working when I need a change of environment from the home office (there are tables that overlook the pool), painting (I’m a huge fan of the paint and sip classes) or just hanging out. Neighbors can consider it a great resource for meals and snacks off the beach (and anytime), entertaining for occasions and even just to grab a bottle of wine or party-food supplies for friends who drop by. “The food was overall pretty decent. I wasn’t blown away by anything, but I think I would probably come back again to eat here. My wife seemed to like her food a lot. The service was pretty good.
