“As a family that truly loves Italian cuisine, we’ve visited countless Italian restaurants in various regions. Buzzo Wood Fired Pizza immediately impressed us with its modern, stylish interior and its open kitchen — a design choice that suggested both culinary transparency and a commitment to cleanliness. It set the stage for high expectations.
Yet, upon entering, there was an inexplicable sense of unease. It’s hard to pinpoint whether it stemmed from the service itself or the overall atmosphere, but the warmth and friendliness we often appreciate in a dining experience felt somewhat absent.
For our mains, we ordered The Charlie Pizza and The Jenkins Pizza. The Charlie Pizza was, unfortunately, far too salty. A touch of saltiness can enhance flavor, but in this case, it overpowered the dish and made it difficult to enjoy. The Jenkins Pizza, featuring jalapeños for a bit of spice, was fine but lacked any particularly memorable or distinctive character.
The highlight of the meal, however, came in the form of the appetizer: Arancini. These crispy, golden risotto balls, served with a parmesan sauce and leek oil, were exceptional. The contrast of the crunchy exterior and creamy risotto center, paired with the rich and aromatic sauces, was superb — easily redeeming the shortcomings of the pizzas we ordered.
In the end, Buzzo Wood Fired Pizza shows great potential, with a stylish setting and certain dishes that shine. A warmer, more welcoming service experience and better balance in the pizza seasoning could elevate it into a truly outstanding destination.“

“Feels like Portland bottled up in a little pizza joint. The real star, whatever red sauce they use on the pepperoni pizza. Is that cheddar cheese they bake into the crust?
Perfect place to eat after a day at the beach, biking, walking, or if you’re looking for a quality detroit style.
We will definitely be returning and this place has made it onto our list of recommendations for our friends looking for a bite to eat.

“GREAT pizza, solid happy hour from 3-6pm and this place has A/C which really helped us out during the heat wave! The salads were good portioned too. For 2 adults we split a small pizza and one salad and were satisfied. Endless fountain soda…quenched our thirst this HOT July day!!
Also, lots of seating, big tables for large groups too. We were served very quickly too“

“I ordered the vegan mendocino. You can't order it by the slice, you have to pay for the whole pie. It only took about 10-15 minutes for them to make. Although, it was kinda pricey about $30 for a 12". It was super garlicky and delicious, the cheese had a nice flavor and texture, but I felt like it needed just a tad bit of salt. I really enjoyed the fresh tomato sauce and fresh basil on top. Anyway, I'm super stoked that there's vegan pizza available near my home. There's 2 more vegan pizzas, so I'll be back to try those too. Updated from previous review on 2025-01-09“

“We ordered a takeout pizza 20 minutes before closing as we were driving into Aptos. The staff was very accommodating and said they would be there when we were to arrive in 25 minutes. They had the pizza ready and it was very good. Great job Pizza 1 Aptos!“

“Wow what an adorable little gem! I ordered the Jalapeno Cheddar Breakfast Bagel and omg, this just might have been the best bagel I've ever had. I've had Jersey & NY bagels but this really stood out. It was so incredibly chewy and soft in the middle and perfectly crisp on the outside. The flavor of the melted cheddar, pops of jalapeno and a subtle tang from the sourdough were incredible. The staff were very friendly & my food came out rather fast given the crowd. Couldn't recommend this place enough if you're in the area!“

“Here on a Tuesday with their “Cheesy Tuesdays” when a cheese slice is only $2.50!!!! In this economy? Beautiful! And it wasn’t just an average slice of pizza it was PERFECT. A little crunch, yummy dough, the perfect amount of cheese pull (not too much but enough). Top 5 pizzas I’ve ever eaten. Just beautiful.“

“As I walked in I was greeted by Kianna who was very polite and patient with me as I ordered several pizzas for my coworkers Pizza party I was having for them. Pizza was very tasty and to our satisfaction. The place was very clean and the environment was nice with plenty of tables for inside dining. “I go here for lunch once a week. I call my order in for pick up. Usually the chicken club sandwich with chips and fountain drink $12.06. About average for lunch. Can never eat the whole lunch. So I have a snack when I get home. Having a 1/2 hour for lunch it is best to call your order in for pick up. The service is always great . NICK is usually at the register, great guy.“

“Fourth time here and still left impressed. Pizza, gnocchi, ragu, and sole dishes were fantastic. Didn leave room for desert but tried the strawberry and cream and lemon curd, anyway. Glad we did. Drinks were great too. Nice enough for a date night. Casual enough to be a great neighborhood hang. 10/10.“

“We recently had a birthday party for my son here. It went so smoothly. The staff was completely on top of our needs. They even stored our pizza and ice cream cake leftovers for us while we went next door for a movie! I highly recommend this restaurant not only for the stellar service, but the food is also incredible. Can't wait to come back for more!“
