“I am a local from Monterey and I've enjoyed this establishment since childhood. Their food is so tasteful and memorable. They truly integrate the Oaxacan culture into their food, keeping it as authentic as possible.

My favorite thing I love to order that I would recommend would be their chicken mole or tortas. Their pastels (cakes) are very delicious as well. Top restaurant I would personally recommend in Monterey“

Ordered the 3 item comination plate for dinner on a Tuesday night. This was our second visit to this restaurant. It was not too busy, and we were promptly seated and given menus to look at. I oreded the teriyaki chicken, combo tempura, and inari plate.
The inari with a little wasabi was very good. The combo tempura consisted of shrimp, mushroom, green beans, onion rings, carrot, and zucchini. The tempura was very good, especially with the provided dipping sauce. The teriyaki chicken was alright. Nothing special with light and dark meat. The salad and dressing were very good as well as the rice. Service was good as we were asked how everything was or if we required anything else several times. I put Harumi as one of the top of my list for Japanese food on the penninsula and look forward to another visit.“

I love their small pastries like financier as well. The croissant and puffed pastries are a bit too dry for me. Still it is better beyond average puffed pastries. “Although located in an unassuming little yellow cottage off the main road, Siam Marina Thai Cuisine tries its best to make its presence known. Its magenta trim and string lights guide you in. As you enter, the cozy building is cleaved in twain, leaving a tiny yet comfortable and inviting dining room on one side and a cloistered kitchen on the other. You find yourself blanketed within bright pink walls and cheerfully colorful decor. The kitchen is close enough to where you can hear the bubbling of fryer oil and vigorous conversations in Thai -- I can imagine it's quite fun when the place is full (I came for lunch and it was completely empty).
I wanted to try something really spicy as I like to test my limits (and the restaurant's), but the mango curry caught my eye, so instead I decided to see how a fruit would fit in to the meal.
The fried fish cakes I ordered as well were quite good, but I was mostly impressed with everything around them. The sauce they came with was delightful and filled with fresh vegetables, and they were topped with freshly fried basil that was maybe just a tad undercrisped. The fish cakes had a bit of a leathery exterior, but were juicy and not soaked in oil as I had feared might be the case.
As I first began trying the curry, I was a little disappointed. The mango, I thought, felt out of place in both taste and texture, and the curry itself did not have an identifiable mango flavor beyond that. But it quickly grew on me, and again I found that everything tasted very fresh: the vegetables were just crunchy enough and the curry sauce was bold yet sweet. I ended up eating every last bit of mango.
Thai cuisine is not one that I am well acquainted with but it is one I'd like to try more often, and Siam Marina was a decided boost of confidence. I commend their practice and wish them well.“

“Three of us stopped by this charming restaurant and our server was attentive and able to tell us the history of the restaurant when we asked. It was a pleasure to be waited on by someone who enjoys working there! I see why. The service from the kitchen was timed perfectly.
After our appetizers we were served our piping hot, delicious meals we're presented. I had Geschnetzeltes, and the others ordered Schnitzel and Jager Schnitzel. All three were plum full of flavor. We were served enough to take home to enioy the next day. Such a yummy treat.

“This charming coffee shop offers a wide variety of freshly baked goods for breakfast, such as egg sandwiches, bagels and French flûtes with tomato and mozzarella. The coffee and chai tea are excellent. Homemade jams are available to buy. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. It's a meeting point for the local community. If I lived here permanently, I would come here for breakfast every day.“

The butterscotch blondie was good, although a bit too sweet for us. The oatmeal berry item was definitely the strongest. I wouldn't say anything here was super memorable, but cute nonetheless!“

“I wanted to write the perfect review but I won't be able to do that. The people there were so nice and so warm. The location is in an old house in historic downtown Pacific Grove. But I can't let this go, the prices were high (as expected) and then they did the old trick of, "Did you want chorizo with that"....without telling you it's a $6 upcharge for two teaspoons added on top of your $17 plate of chiliquilies. So for $23, you get a full plate, I mean piled high of tortilla chips covered in a homemade red sauce (delicious). A table or teaspoonful of queso fresco per the recipe (delicious), two fried eggs, and sour cream on the side, (awesome). Most recipes for this dish that I've eaten will offer a choice of protein. Chorizo is a very common breakfast protein for this recipe. I would argue that it should be part of the recipe regardless but if you ask people, "Do you want chorizo on that?", many will say yes for the reasons I mentioned above. But when the bill comes watch out. It was a $6 upcharge to my $17 choice of breakfast. If it's an upcharge you have to tell me in advance. "Do I want it?", is one question. "Do I want it for the price you will charge me?", has to be a separate question. If it's some amount that high, an extra 1/3 of the price of my breakfast, then you shoudl feel extremely obligated to tell me how much. Don't make me feel like an a-hole bringing up your sketchy business upcharge practices to you in the middle of a super-packed breakfast/brunch rush when you hand me the bill. I didn't bring it up but I wanted to, very badly. As good as the meal was the experience left a bad taste in my mouth and more than a week later I'm still shaking my head about it. For a place that thrives on tourist and word-of-mouth business, there's no reason for this type of shady business antics which leads someone like me who otherwise really enjoyed this place to go to the trouble of leaving a bad review. I probably won't go back due to this.“

“I love and cherish and utterly miss this place.
Unfortunately we no longer live in CA, but much of our money was spent on Friday night Pizza My Way. We went in so often, the staff began to recognize us. We've dined in once and it was really pleasant, but we mainly ordered takeout. Our go-to is the chicken masterpiece, it just has a wonderful flavor profile and never felt heavy/greasy to eat.
We've tried other flavors, but nothing beats the masterpiece. I've attempted to make my own version at home; and I'd like to think I've gotten pretty good at it, but it's just not the same.
