“Enjoyed a delicious and delightful meal at Maligne! We ordered the whole turbot, the little gems salad, and the milk bread. The salad was simple but perfectly dressed. The milk bread had a super light and airy texture and we enjoyed the smokiness from the grill. The turbot was the star of the show - really tender and buttery with crispy. We could tell that the kitchen paid fine attention to detail to every dish that got sent out!

The service was also excellent and contributed to the atmosphere. Waitstaff was super attentive and friendly and answered all of our questions. Loved Maligne and hope to be back!“

“This place is in the Embassy Suites- that’s important for info on atmosphere and finding it! Really nice ambiance- we ended up here as it was the only place open past nine and we had just gotten into town and needed dinner and drinks and got both here with very friendly service. You can sit away from the bar area if the hotel bar is hoppin’.Limited menu- but totally sufficient and nice representation of local produce.

Parking: Says paid parking only- we are t hotel guests so hoping for the best ?“

“Our visit to Stoke's Adobe last weekend produced the best meal I've had on The Peninsula in a decade! Restauranteur, Sarah Orr, has hit one out of the park. The dishes prepared by Executive Chef, Bryce Hansen, were flawless, my favorties being the seared scallops and truffle chicken. Loved the nod to former occupant and socialite, Hattie Gragg, with the inclusion of the Hattie's Old Fashioned on the cocktail menu :) Looking forward to our next visit and an opportunity to sample other items on their ever evolving menu.“

“Trailside is one of my favorite local breakfast areas. Diego is the manager. They have a great selection of beers, morning drinks. I usually get the huevos rancheros with an ice coffee and a morning beer.

Nights are really great. Clear skies and good views of the stars at night.“

“Loved absolutely everything about this spot!! Not only is the food amazing, the drinks are delicious and the patio is perfect. They are also the most dog friendly spot I have ever experienced. Water bowls and a dog menu are provided for your meal if you bring your dog(s) with you. I had to take advantage and I’m pretty sure the dogs would give it 5+ stars as well. Heidi took care of us, but the whole staff came by and said hello and made myself and the dogs feel so welcome.

“My husband and I spent several days last week visiting the Monterey Bay area and had several people recommend Lalla Grill Oceanside as a great place to dine. They were so right ... the food, the service, and the atmosphere were all top notch! Our server, Serena, was an absolutely delightful young lady and helped us order a selection of foods that were all amazing! The floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the water offered spectacular views. Next time we visit the area, there will definitely be a return trip to Lalla Grill!“

“I tried something new today, the hot Turkey open face sandwich smothered in a wonderful mushroom gravy. OMG 😱 So good ! And my salad was the perfect size to complement the large portion of the hot Turkey. I added a little Tabasco cause that what I do. I thought I was finished until the little waitress offered dessert 🍨. I ordered a piece of their home made apple 🍎 pie 🎉🎊😱. People let me tell you this is a bucket lister. With out a doubt the best apple pie I have ever had. And yes they make it from scratch. Great lunch experience today ! “This place was magical from the second we walked through the turquoise-colored door with its old fashioned door knob. We had no reservation & we were coming from Fieldwork brewing (so my hubby really needed to eat). They had no spots available (reservations are nearly necessary here on Fri. & Sat. they informed us later). However, they promptly set up backyard heater & provided blankets for our quickly provided outdoor seating. We ordered 2 shots of mezcal (cause we were outside & it was kinda cold), which the manager informed us they only served the best ;) They sent out it a waitperson who informed us “I’ll be taking care of you tonight.” Which turned out to be true from the service to dinner/dessert recommendations, and packing up our leftover beans to take home. Eventually, they moved us inside because of a cancelation. And I haven’t even started on the carefully crafted cocktails & food. So meticulously crafted, and presented. I rarely favor restaurant food over my own cooking ability, but I can confidently say their food is way better than my own lol. Again, everything was beautiful, perfect, & delicious! Also, I’m thinking the line for coffee & morning eats at their sister bakery Alta can attest to amazing, soon to be Monterey culinary fixture. Thank you for the memorable night & dinner Cella! “I wanted to write the perfect review but I won't be able to do that. The people there were so nice and so warm. The location is in an old house in historic downtown Pacific Grove. But I can't let this go, the prices were high (as expected) and then they did the old trick of, "Did you want chorizo with that"....without telling you it's a $6 upcharge for two teaspoons added on top of your $17 plate of chiliquilies. So for $23, you get a full plate, I mean piled high of tortilla chips covered in a homemade red sauce (delicious). A table or teaspoonful of queso fresco per the recipe (delicious), two fried eggs, and sour cream on the side, (awesome). Most recipes for this dish that I've eaten will offer a choice of protein. Chorizo is a very common breakfast protein for this recipe. I would argue that it should be part of the recipe regardless but if you ask people, "Do you want chorizo on that?", many will say yes for the reasons I mentioned above. But when the bill comes watch out. It was a $6 upcharge to my $17 choice of breakfast. If it's an upcharge you have to tell me in advance. "Do I want it?", is one question. "Do I want it for the price you will charge me?", has to be a separate question. If it's some amount that high, an extra 1/3 of the price of my breakfast, then you shoudl feel extremely obligated to tell me how much. Don't make me feel like an a-hole bringing up your sketchy business upcharge practices to you in the middle of a super-packed breakfast/brunch rush when you hand me the bill. I didn't bring it up but I wanted to, very badly. As good as the meal was the experience left a bad taste in my mouth and more than a week later I'm still shaking my head about it. For a place that thrives on tourist and word-of-mouth business, there's no reason for this type of shady business antics which leads someone like me who otherwise really enjoyed this place to go to the trouble of leaving a bad review. I probably won't go back due to this.“

Burger was very good!! Cooked well and came out juicy. The blue cheese was good quality.

A friend had the fried chicken and said it was excellent. Another recommended the Patty Melt.

But it's really all about the decorations!! The ceiling and walls are covered in old boots, animal skins, animal heads, signs, saddles, horns, pictures, chairs, hats, etc. etc. etc.

We were told by two locals during our wine tastings that this is the bar all locals come to at night.

The service was excellent!! Really wish I remember the server's name, but she has as much character as the restaurant does!!! Loved chatting with her. She gave us some excellent wine tasting recommendations too!!“

“Terrific Asian restaurant. My favorite is the chicken fried rice. The spring rolls and potstickers are also good. A cozy little family owned restaurant in downtown Monterey. Like ALL better restaurants, there is NO surcharge for using a credit card. Parking can sometimes be a small challenge, I found out when I was in there that they have more parking behind the building also. Only negative, you have to bring your own Cokes. They have some kind of a Coke substitute there. Pro tip, eat with chopsticks, not a fork. Highly recommended.“

There are also several televisions and they serve a limited menu of pub food. Sit by the fireplace and relax after fighting the winds at Spanish Bay.“

“Great Sicilian pizza. Best I had in a long time. Italian sausage, just right amount of chilli. No cheese, no stuffed crust, authentic Italian. We ordered takeaway and even though they were busy, it was ready in 10 mins. Service was excellent, they threw in the ciabatta and virgin olive oil for free as they didn't have garlic bread. First time here, wish we lived here, but sadly just passing through.“

“Great restaurant a few streets away from the centre of Carmel. We stopped for brunch before continuing along the PCH. The food was delicious. We had a fried chicken burger and the huevos rancheros.

They even give you a slice of crispy bacon with your Bloody Mary! I didn't know this was an option but I fully support it.“
