“best pastas ever!!! And the tiramisu was fabulous“

“I asked my husband to find a cute + cozy Italian restaurant for Friday night dinner date, and we found what we wanted and more! Low lighting, but not so low you can’t read the menu. Quiet enough to hear conversation, but not awkward-quiet. And the service was top notch, nothing about the spot was pretentious, and the food was tasty. The owner (or maybe maître d’?) Vasak was so sweet and greeted us with a huge smile. He had us come to the back to taste all of the wines because I didn’t know which one I wanted, and he brought tiramisu on the house at the end of our meal. The whole staff was friendly and fast, and they all seemed to know the guests who walked in—big smiles, hugs, handshakes, “see-you-in-a-couple-weeks”. We got bow tie pasta with pink sauce and their house made gnocchi with pesto cream sauce; perfectly al dente and perfectly salted. I’m going to bring all of my friends!“

“Service was friendly and efficient. Wasn’t too busy for a Tuesday night. We were a large group of business travelers and the servers were always very helpful. Food was good, not mind blowing, but our large group of 10+ collectively agreed this was a nice find and a good meal.“

AND dessert is an absolute must, everyone needs to try the bread pudding! Good price point for the quality of food and the cutest Mediterranean inspired design.“

“I ate here before with my family a few months ago and we enjoyed the meal. I forgot about it, until my husband and I were looking for a different Italian restaurant than the usual ones we go to. I remembered Olivia, so we went on a Saturday night where it was considerably more energetic than before. Everyone was welcoming and we were lucky we made a reservation. The arancini was soooo good. It's very hard to find the quality that we experienced in Italy, but Oliva came very close. The Pasta Norma was delicious. The seafood pasta was also very good. The portions were plentiful and service was on point. This is such a warm and welcoming restaurant. I recommend it and can't wait to return.“

“There were 4 of us dining in for a late lunch/ early dinner. It's a very comfortable place with a great menu and awesome desserts. The owner works there and the staff is awesome and friendly. If you want to adjust your selection a bit they are happy to help in any way possible! The portions are good size to share. We love going there and the staff makes it cozy and welcoming. “Trattoria del Sole is a genuinely fine Italian dinner experience. I've always known that the way to tell the difference between an average restaurant and a better restaurant is the way they're calamari is cooked and presented. Calamari was perfect. Tender and mild. The arugula salad was quite fresh. The pasta was definitely in-house made. Perfectly served Al Dante with a spicy sauce that made the dish sublime. I will be back.“

“One of our favorite Italian spots in the Valley. Great food, wonderful service, comfortable spot. Just a great time overall. Our favorite dishes include the capellini with vegetables, the lamb chops... and of course, the beautiful desserts. Last night we enjoyed a wonderfully light tiramisu. A good time was had by all.“

“Visited last week with a group after hearing good things about it through a friend. Their pizza is delicious, good dough/cheese/sauce ratio. We ordered the Chicken Alfredo pizza and Margherita pizza. I also tried their Chicken Marsala and it hit the spot. They also serve espresso drinks, perfect before hitting the road after stuffing ourselves. Would recommend and definitely coming back.“

“NYC cheese slices are my jam, and we have an embarrassment of riches in Sherman Oaks. Within a mile of each other, there are three, count 'em three, authentic NY slice shops. My son and I visited all three of them on a self-guided cheese slice tour of Sherman Oaks. Pizza Wagon was stop three on the tour!

The atmosphere is good...NY decor on the walls in what feels like a truly neighborhood / not-chain space. The service was great too...the staff worked quickly and were abundantly friendly and helpful.

They do a good job with authentic style slices...the right amount of crisp on the crust and a good ratio of sauce versus cheese. The chew was good, though both the crust and sauce don't quite have the superior flavor profile of the nearby places.

It's definitely a good alternative to those, though, and miles ahead of the major chain pizzas in terms of NY style.“

“Pizza was great! Harvest salad a great start as recommended by waiter. Do expect 45 min wait for deep dish pizza. Fries were good but we expected steak cut fries rather than standard. Quaint pizza parlor atmosphere and comfortable eating at a booth.“

“This newish restaurant is definitely underrated! We came here for my mom's birthday and I'm so glad we did. We all loved it. The food was absolutely amazing Bolognese 5/5 Lobster pasta 4.5/5 Spaghetti carbonara 5/5 Spaghetti with gamberi 4/5 (very spicy) Spaghetti arrabbiata 4/5 Caesar salad 5/5 Wine (Pinot noir & Chianti) 5/5 Pistachio and chocolate cake 5/5 The service was truly special. They went above and beyond. The restaurant is gorgeous and intimate. It's perfect for dates or family dinners.“
