“just ordered food from China Gourmet in Signal Hill, Ca.. upon entering the restaurant a young man greeted me with a hello. He was pleasent and welcoming. He took my order of mushroom chicken, mixed vegetables and rice with a two order combo. I had BBQ pork, half and half and jalapeño chicken, with two drinks. Returned home and started to dive in! WOW IT WAS AMAZING! The pork was cooked just right, the chicken was extremely delicious and chow mein was actual chow mein and not Top Ramen noodles substitute. my friend who ordered the mushroom chicken and vegetables couldn't stop eating. I've been to numerous fast Chinese food places and none of them have been as good as this place with the quality of food and the amount given. the price was moderate in today's society of price gouging it was $27 and well worth it. if you enjoy Chinese food and really want to get a bang for your buck as well as and enjoyment of flavors in your mouth go to China Gourmet!“

“Very good location. I ordered a bowl, half noodles, half fried rice, with mushroom chicken. So good and fresh. The restaurant was clean, so we're the restrooms. I also ordered their house special chow mein XTRA spicy and this definitely was spicy. Both dishes were good in flavor for the price. The only bad is the wait time for the dishes. Since they're popular now, expect to wait 30-60 minutes so order ahead!“

We explained to her we weren’t to familiar with how to order and she gave us some recommendations. We ordered everything she suggested and wow she nailed it. She was VERY patient. “All the food is cooked fresh. The veggie soup had a light, classic flavor that I know and love. The family style bean curd/tofu had a nice flavor and texture. Rice is included and there is chili sauce and chili oil to spice up your food. The service was good, the lady there is so nice and stays busy.“

Opted for the beef bone broth; however, there was a taste/smell to it, reminiscent of lamb (I only got beef), which was unexpected and a bit off-putting for me.

Service: Decent. While it isn't a standard sit-down restaurant, be prepared to be charged a gratuity for a party of six or more.

Ambiance: Casual. Pretty spacious and clean, including the ingredient + sauce bar.

Parking: Ample parking, but located in a relatively busy/ high-traffic plaza, so parking could take a minute, during peak hours.“

“Tasty Goody in Norwalk is hands down the best Chinese food place this side of the Mississippi. I go there whenever I want some ? orange chicken, and it never disappoints. The portions are huge, and the prices are great for how much food you get. The orange chicken has the perfect amount of crunch and sauce, and the noodles are always fresh. I’ve tried a lot of places, but nothing really compares to Tasty Goody. Plus, the people there are super nice and quick with your order. Definitely my go-to spot for Chinese food.“

“I order from No. 1 Chef often via Postmates. Something went wrong this time (not their fault, their computers were down), so my hubby and I took a quick trip to pick up our order. The lady was SOOOO nice and helpful over the phone. With that said, the food here is top notch! When I need comfort food, I get the egg flower soup and dumplings. The soup is ALWAYS hot and fresh and just feels like a hug. I've also ordered the egg fu yun, and trust this place is NOT stingy on the portions. Everything I've had has never disappointed. Yes, it may look like a hole in the wall, but if you want the kind of Chinese food that satisfies, give this place a try.“

I can’t say anything particularly outstanding, but there’s definitely nothing negative either. “I love this place! One of the servers is great, she always fills my plate. However, today at about 12:30pm I went to pick up lunch and the server, short lady, not the one who is normally there. Was literally talking on the phone the whole time I’m ordering my food. What bothered me is that I asked for sauce on the side but being she’s on the phone she apparently didn’t hear me and poured the sauce on the food. I lacked to check and once I get back to my destination my sweet and sour chicken is all soggy. Get off your phone be professional so you can pay attention to what is being asked from the customer.“

And honestly... it's still the same now

Of course, we had to kick things off with noodles.

Then lamb skewers,and square ribs with garlic because we wanted something not too spicy

Veggies were definitely needed for our Asian tummy digestion.

Can't forget the xiao long bao and dumplings.

This is just a classic that never goes wrong.

“Ok so we used to lived down the street from here. Approximately 2014 to 2015. One of those places that I get this nostalgia feeling...before we had our kids and before we have what we have now. The days of struggle. We used to get their deal buy 3 get 1 and we would eat it for a week. We just moved to California. We opened our clothing store and everything was tight budget. But this place in more ways saved us. They have the best bbq chicken in town and their portions is massive still...12 years later. First visit was General Tso’s (my favorite), 2nd visit was Chicken Chow mein, today is Spicy Orange Chicken (move over General Tso’s, you’ve been replaced!). The staff is always friendly and helpful, the food is really good. When their menu says “spicy”, they mean a nice little kick and not a flamethrower!! “I was told about this place by a friend who knows her stuff so I thought I'd give it a try. I recommend you use your navigation to find it because you'll drive right by it because it's in a small strip mall. Off the corner of Jersey and rosecrans. The restaurant is on the small side and I'm sure they get crowded with the dinner rush. I went for the lunch special served Monday to Saturday from 11am to 3 pm. I chose the Kung Pao Chicken, that comes with the daily soup,egg roll,fried rice and a fortune cookie which is alot for $11.95. They chop up their red pepper into pieces, so it has a kick ! The portions were large enough to make two meals which is a plus. Definitely will be back to try other options on the menu. Especially the hot soups which look amazing. They are closed on Tuesday ,so I had to wait an extra day. A thumbs up to whomever designed their menu, easy to decide what to order and prices displayed clearly 😀.“

“Today at M’s kitchen, I went with the chef’s suggestion of “cold noodles” (which is the meat sauce noodle with soy bean paste, ask for cold noodles). The pronunciation sounds like Tsa Chang lian mein, and while my mandarin is terrible the food was thankfully not. The cold noodles, cucumbers, and pork sauce hit the spot in this warm California afternoon and i couldn’t be more satisfied with both the taste and my full stomach. 10/10 Would eat again. —Recommendations— For those who want a comforting dinning experience, Treat yourself to these delicious dishes: -general tso’s chicken -spicy diced chicken -green onion pancakes -braised string beans -house special beef -braised shrimp -cold meat sauce noodle with soy bean paste —Finger foods for your office/party— For those looking to feed your office finger foods ask for a party tray (I’d get the last 3 since they are more likely “known” by the people you are feeding): -spicy diced chicken -xiao long bao -pan fried dumplings -spring rolls -green onion pancakes When in doubt, do not be afraid to ask Monica the owner for suggestions. Unfortunately the friend that brought it over took longer to reply on recommendations, but the orange chicken and teriyaki chicken were delicious.
