Restaurants in Solana Beach

“Upscale dining by Chef Jeffrey Strauss. We came for restaurant week ($70 + $45). The menu being offered is slightly different than the daily regular menu offering beef, pork, fish, duck and vegetarian.

We ordered:

Complimentary assorted bread basket came out first with mini corn muffins, baguette and a seeded bread that was my favorite.

Lobster ravioli (also on regular menu) - 1 giant lobster filled ravioli with small mushrooms and scallops in a ginger soy mushroom sauce

Skipped the second appetizer and Supplemented for the Angel hair pasta with shaved truffles for $45. You can add on as a third dish for $65. This was buttery rich goodness.

Korean marinated flat iron steak - sliced in 7 pieces over fried rice. Although rice was good, sadly, we compared it to Trader Joe tv dinner.

Pork schnitzel - I have to say, this was better than the ones I had in Germany and Austria because it was thinner, wasn’t dry and had flavor (meaning salt). The potatoes balanced out the salty flavors.

Warm chocolate caramel cake (also on regular menu) - served with berries and vanilla gelato. Found this to be same as other places.

Seasonal fig tart - puff pastry with mascarpone filling, honey and few slices of fig.

Restaurant week has gotten more pricy over the years with Pampalmousse on the higher end of $70, I expected more. I would have loved to see more of their regular menu items featured on the RW menu and more French inspired.

Overall, plenty of parking, indoor and outdoor seating. We had a wonderful experience. Food was well prepared. Truffle pasta was our favorite. Our drinks were strong. I got the Sippin’ on Lychee with gin, lychee liquor and simple syrup.”

“Great service, great atmosphere. Food disappointed a bit. I had Eggs Benedict which came on English muffins that were both burned on one side and hollandaise sauce that was surprisingly bland. Still, I go back and back, it's a fun place and there's lots of other choices on the menu to try.”

“Service was superb in every way. Terry never wrote down an order for our table of five and got it perfectly! Everyone's favorite was the lamb lollipops. Soo tender and savory. The executive board was so flavorful and beyond tender. A terrific meal and celebration. Noise was a bit loud for us. But it tapered off.”

“Excellent spot in Solana Beach, right on Main Street. There’s plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Since I went on a weekend, the line to order was quite long, but because many people were ordering to go, I was still able to find a table. It’s a great place to study or work in Solana Beach, and the latte and bagel were both good as well.”

“Many breakfast options to choose from. Vegan options as well. If you can't find parking on the street of this restaurant, then park on the street behind. Free street parking.  Fletcher Cove Park is near this restaurant. Excellent service. They don't rush you.”

“This place is great! We tried a few other coffee places in the area and this was by far the best coffee (not too sweet and great flavor). Everyone was super nice and gracious. We had the açaí bowl, toasted quickie, and flower child. All were top notch. Salted caramel latte was yummy as was the Turkish latte and regular latte.”

“Placed an order for 45 box lunches and a catering box…to all be picked up at 10:30am today. I know the Jersey Mike’s guys had to come in early to get it all ready. They were all smiles when we swiped up to pick up the order. Everything was FLAWLESS! Everything was fresh and ready on time. The entire UCSB lacrosse team was well fed, leaving nothing behind. Thank you Jersey Mikes. And Go Gauchos!”

“I had not been here before. I was surprised how good the Margherita pizza was. It has the right ratio of ingredients for maximum flavor. My friend had the lunch pepperoni pizza and enjoyed it. The lunch special includes a salad. Our server was very attentive and astute. We ate on the covered patio which was a nice change. I'll definitely go back. They have a good sized menu at reasonable prices.”

“Hey Solana Beach Travelers and Explorers..Looking for a Indoor/Outdoor Brunch Location that serves up some delicious Food? Friendly Service? And an inviting atmosphere? Then look no further than T's Cafe!

The French toast looked like it was out of Dream. I had the Chilaquiles. I love the Color of the chips and the Taste of the meat. I wish it was a little larger for the price. Yet, it was still good. The Biscuits and gravy were not our cup of tea. But everything else was wonderful.

What made our visit over the top was the very personal and excellent customer service given to us by our Waiter Uziel. He was very friendly and attended to us often. Even when I discovered a foreign object in my plate, he apologized for the error and took care of it promptly. Additionally he spoke very fluent English and Spanish! Also a big thanks to Jessica and the rest of the team for the Killer service!

“Tire picked up a screw somewhere and I had to visit Discount Tire. A/C at Carl’s always seems to be the coldest. If you’re trying to watch what you eat, I recommend this combo. The chicken filet is so small, you’ll be sure to eat less.”

The Mac n Cheese with brisket was a recommendation from the fabulous Tracy and it was incredibly delicious. Everything was so good that we returned the next night!! Highly recommend SB Kitchen.”

I got the keto smoothie with cacao and berries, and added extra pea protein. It was delicious (see photo), healthy, and the service was quick and friendly. “Local Roots Solana Beach: clean, modern, and friendlier than a dog at a barbecue! Work or play, have it your way with rotating kombucha and chef's sushi menu. Wifi, TVs and indoor outdoor space make it ideal for people watching or mingling. Just a heads up, it's a bit pricer with fewer options than nearby spots like Station Sushi, but hey, quality ain't cheap! ?? ??

“Comfy out of the way coffee house, snack bar, picnic or train snacks venue. All they need is wine and you’ll be all set for jumping the train to LA or heading over to the beach (literally across the street!).
Their coffee is the best! Strong flavorful and complex without bitterness. And you can buy beans right there! Pastries taste house made, same-day fresh with real cream cheese frosting. Delicious pastries with perfect“chew” and not dried out at all. Lots and lots of variety in the cases from sandwiches, to wraps, to burritos, to pastries cakes and cookies! Their drink selection is awesome too. Any espresso drink you might want (except no Flat White), including cold brew, and alternative drinks (like French lemonade), and traditional sodas too.
There is a lot of outdoor shaded seating available all around, including a large patio directly across with lovely raised succulent gardens, comfortable tables and chairs and even heaters for chilly morning.
This little gem is located just north of the restaurant and directly across N Cedros from the north end of the train/Coaster parking lot. So lots of easy parking available.

One less star for OK service. Efficient and fast, but not very friendly. I like to feel like the staff are glad I’m there spending my money. Of course we will try again another day, and I’ll upgrade my service star if improved. Maybe they were just not having a good day.”

“Loved this spot! I did not expect them to have vegan options but they were able to do any pizza with vegan cheese and the staff helped me find a delicious option (the laguna) with lots of veggies! The pizza was delicious and I loved the crust! Staff was very friendly and helpful and in general it was a great vibe inside and out”

“I had such a great experience at Rustic Root! The atmosphere was warm, lively, and the perfect mix of upscale and relaxed. The food was absolutely delicious, and the happy hour menu was honestly fantastic — great variety, great portions, and great prices.

A special shout-out to Rob, the bartender, who was incredibly attentive the entire time. He anticipated what we needed before we even asked, checked in without being intrusive, and made amazing recommendations. His service truly made the night even better.
