Restaurants in Solana Beach

“Upscale dining by Chef Jeffrey Strauss. We came for restaurant week ($70 + $45). The menu being offered is slightly different than the daily regular menu offering beef, pork, fish, duck and vegetarian.

We ordered:

Complimentary assorted bread basket came out first with mini corn muffins, baguette and a seeded bread that was my favorite.

Lobster ravioli (also on regular menu) - 1 giant lobster filled ravioli with small mushrooms and scallops in a ginger soy mushroom sauce

Skipped the second appetizer and Supplemented for the Angel hair pasta with shaved truffles for $45. You can add on as a third dish for $65. This was buttery rich goodness.

Korean marinated flat iron steak - sliced in 7 pieces over fried rice. Although rice was good, sadly, we compared it to Trader Joe tv dinner.

Pork schnitzel - I have to say, this was better than the ones I had in Germany and Austria because it was thinner, wasn’t dry and had flavor (meaning salt). The potatoes balanced out the salty flavors.

Warm chocolate caramel cake (also on regular menu) - served with berries and vanilla gelato. Found this to be same as other places.

Seasonal fig tart - puff pastry with mascarpone filling, honey and few slices of fig.

Restaurant week has gotten more pricy over the years with Pampalmousse on the higher end of $70, I expected more. I would have loved to see more of their regular menu items featured on the RW menu and more French inspired.

Overall, plenty of parking, indoor and outdoor seating. We had a wonderful experience. Food was well prepared. Truffle pasta was our favorite. Our drinks were strong. I got the Sippin’ on Lychee with gin, lychee liquor and simple syrup.”

“Great service, great atmosphere. Food disappointed a bit. I had Eggs Benedict which came on English muffins that were both burned on one side and hollandaise sauce that was surprisingly bland. Still, I go back and back, it's a fun place and there's lots of other choices on the menu to try.”

“been a club member for a year+ great wines, staff is friendly and efficient. Go to places for something new or a favorite standard. Casual seating inside & out. Nice place to have a glass with friends”

“Buddy and I wanted breakfast burritos and randomly found this place off google maps. It’s amazing find. Very simple unassuming shop but incredibly nice people working (I believe it’s a family who runs the whole place) who went above and beyond, and very tasty burritos with large portions!”

“Excellent spot in Solana Beach, right on Main Street. There’s plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Since I went on a weekend, the line to order was quite long, but because many people were ordering to go, I was still able to find a table. It’s a great place to study or work in Solana Beach, and the latte and bagel were both good as well.”

“A nice clean restaurant with a nice simple menu. The breakfast burrito and the French toast were very good. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, and parking behind the restaurant. The service was friendly, albeit slow. Took 20 minutes to have a waiter come after we were seated. Then he didn't check back until the check. But when he was around, he was nice. The seating indoors is loud but only because of the staff very loudly talking to each other.”

“This place is great! We tried a few other coffee places in the area and this was by far the best coffee (not too sweet and great flavor). Everyone was super nice and gracious. We had the açaí bowl, toasted quickie, and flower child. All were top notch. Salted caramel latte was yummy as was the Turkish latte and regular latte.”

“Ohhhh.... I just had such a delicious shrimp po-boy sandwich at Fish District in Solana Beach!! And I'm a hard critic of po-boys being Cajun from Louisiana!! Plus their warm bread pudding was soooo yummy!! I'll be back!”

“We LOVE this bar! Everyone we know has a life-changing story that took place in this iconic bar. The staff is so friendly, the guests are charming and the drinks are cheap. Can you ask for anything more? Oh yeah! It’s literally a block from the beach.”

“We got the not-so-pork banh mi and the tofu banh mi, both without mayo to make it vegan. The staff are super friendly and kind, and it was easy and straightforward to get the order veganized. The tofu banh mi was a bit plain (they offered us peanut sauce instead of mayo, which we had declined. Next time, we’ll say yes, haha!), but the not-so-pork banh mi was excellent. Would go back!! “Placed an order for 45 box lunches and a catering box…to all be picked up at 10:30am today. I know the Jersey Mike’s guys had to come in early to get it all ready. They were all smiles when we swiped up to pick up the order. Everything was FLAWLESS! Everything was fresh and ready on time. The entire UCSB lacrosse team was well fed, leaving nothing behind. “Solana Beach Kitchen was amazing. Each dish was spectacular. Loved the Surf & Turf Nachos, the Calamari was the best I have ever had. The Mac n Cheese with brisket was a recommendation from the fabulous Tracy and it was incredibly delicious. Everything was so good that we returned the next night!! Highly recommend SB Kitchen.”

“I had not been here before. I was surprised how good the Margherita pizza was. It has the right ratio of ingredients for maximum flavor. My friend had the lunch pepperoni pizza and enjoyed it. The lunch special includes a salad. Our server was very attentive and astute. We ate on the covered patio which was a nice change. I'll definitely go back. They have a good sized menu at reasonable prices.”

“Hey Solana Beach Travelers and Explorers..Looking for a Indoor/Outdoor Brunch Location that serves up some delicious Food? Friendly Service? And an inviting atmosphere? Then look no further than T's Cafe!

The French toast looked like it was out of Dream. I had the Chilaquiles. I love the Color of the chips and the Taste of the meat. I wish it was a little larger for the price. Yet, it was still good. The Biscuits and gravy were not our cup of tea. But everything else was wonderful.

What made our visit over the top was the very personal and excellent customer service given to us by our Waiter Uziel. He was very friendly and attended to us often. Even when I discovered a foreign object in my plate, he apologized for the error and took care of it promptly. Additionally he spoke very fluent English and Spanish! Also a big thanks to Jessica and the rest of the team for the Killer service!

“Local Roots Solana Beach: clean, modern, and friendlier than a dog at a barbecue! Work or play, have it your way with rotating kombucha and chef's sushi menu. Wifi, TVs and indoor outdoor space make it ideal for people watching or mingling. Just a heads up, it's a bit pricer with fewer options than nearby spots like Station Sushi, but hey, quality ain't cheap! ?? ??

“My two children and I have been frequenting PureBowl for a numbers of years now, likely 5-6 times a month between the three of us,...and we LOVE IT!. For sure better than any other acai bowl in town and many options for toppings. We will continue to be long term customers.”

“$10 for a sandwich in this economy is an absolute steal. I got the fig, bacon, and brie panini, which was a perfect combination after a hike. There was a slight taste of ginger, which I was confused about. I wish it was a little bit warmer, but it would’ve been cold if I had taken it to the beach anyway (which was my original plan). There are some really cute picnic benches outside and free water inside.”

“Loved this spot! I did not expect them to have vegan options but they were able to do any pizza with vegan cheese and the staff helped me find a delicious option (the laguna) with lots of veggies! The pizza was delicious and I loved the crust! Staff was very friendly and helpful and in general it was a great vibe inside and out”

“I had such a great experience at Rustic Root! The atmosphere was warm, lively, and the perfect mix of upscale and relaxed. The food was absolutely delicious, and the happy hour menu was honestly fantastic — great variety, great portions, and great prices.

A special shout-out to Rob, the bartender, who was incredibly attentive the entire time. He anticipated what we needed before we even asked, checked in without being intrusive, and made amazing recommendations. His service truly made the night even better.
