I ordered the California Classic Burger (double patty) and my wife got the Goldburger (single patty), but with their slices of bread, not a bun.. We also got curly fries.

My first bit affirmed why I made the drive here. It was a classic burger with fresh (and highly drippy) patties. The pickles, onions and lettuce were just right.

The curly fries were curly fries.. but good.

They have an outdoor patio and there was a fan, but it was still hot on the patio.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, it well satisfied my burger craving!“

“Simply amazing. I got a double steakburger with thick patties and it was super filling a unique delicious. Don't sleep on the hot dog though. It tastes amazing on the toast bun. They have a little wheel that you can spin to get free stuff and discounts, which is why I got the fries. I ended up eating more food than I bargained for, but I'm glad I got the full experience.

I love Howlin Ray's, but next time the line is long, I'm coming back here instead.“

They also have combo options that include drinks, and the drink station is fully stocked with Pepsi products, frozen slushies, and soft-serve machines.

On to the food - Gourmet Carribean is a must try! the oxtails, jerk chicken, curry chicken, chick peas and the Friday special, Jerk Salmon. Everything I've tried is delicious. I snagged a bite of my son’s breakfast burrito (he had it for dinner), and I totally get why it’s a favorite. It was super tasty and hit the spot.

Back in the day, in Australia, you would go the local fish and chip shop and order a 'burger with the lot'. It would come out of the bag looking like a hot mess, dripping in beef juice and melted mayonnaise and taste exactly like you would expect...like a mouthful of everything they had stuffed into the bun. Service? For L.A. staff, I actually got a smile, 5 stars. Atmosphere 5 stars? It is iconic downtown L.A. and on the day I was there even came with free 'downtown L.A. entertainment' of a woman walking in out screaming at her invisible adversary. What more can you ask for?“
