“We ate here a few times during our recent stay. The seafood stew was delicious, perfectly cooked seafood that melts in your mouth. I'm a bread fanatic (what can I say) and the garlic bread shocked me it was so good. I would eat just a meal of the garlic bread if I could. The avocado pasta was also surprisingly good. Wouldn't have thought of that flavor combination but it worked well. Clam chowder was warming and a solid choice, again sort of overshadowed by my aw at the world's greatest croutons on to the soup? Whoever is baking and toasting the bread at this restaurant has a gift.

My least favorite dishes were the seafood risotto (tiny portion, barely any seafood in it), and the chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich had some sort of seasoning in it with the consistency of sand. Like chewing chicken covered in sand. Had to scrape it off.“

“We had our lunch in red rooster brick oven and it was the best atmosphere that’s family friendly, the food was delicious and the owners were very nice. We will be visiting again and we highly recommend this restaurant.“

“Stopped by recently on a hot summer day for some gelato. Talk about a perfect repast to beat the summer heat. I had hazelnut and mango, and the portions are very generous. I didn't ask, but I think they make the cones in-house. Anyway, strange combination, I know. The mango was immediately delicious but I think I messed up combining the two because when it came time for the hazelnut, I was too full to truly enjoy the depth of flavor. Next time, I'll get it to take home. I love the location, it's in one of my favorite areas of San Rafael with shopping, good food and entertainment in abundance. Haven't had the pizza yet, but I'm a New Yorker and we're picky about our slices!“

Caesar salad had excellent flavor. Get the tiramisu. It's so good. We would definitely come here again. The interior was a little warm for me, but it was fine.“

“This place was excellent! A little hole in the wall right off of the 101. Me and my husband were driving home late from SF and wanted to grab a bite to eat on the way home. This place is open until 130 in the morning, so makes a great late night option. The crust is made of sourdough and is the perfect amount of crispy and chewy. The sauce was tangy and rich and the toppings tasted fresh. Overall 10/10. The atmosphere wasn't anything to write home about but the food and the guy making the pizzas were excellent and made the hole in the wall vibe. Will go again the next time I'm driving out of the city late at night.“

“Red boy has long been our favorite pizza place around Southern Marin. The sausage they use is particularly good. Unfortunately, lately who's ever making the crust is not evening it out properly. The crust under the fillings is way too thin and most of the bread has been pushed out to the rim which is now way too fat. Hopefully it's just a temporary problem with a new pizza maker learning the craft, but we did not enjoy eating big gobs of bread the last two times.“

“I do food delivery on the side. On Sunday night, I ordered a pizza for myself from this spot. The guy probably didn’t realize it was my order. :) He asked if I was hungry and hooked me up with two extra slices. Super nice of him. The pizza was great. I’d definitely recommend this place.“

“This was our first time here and we ordered the sweet heat BBQ, the pesto chicken special and some buffalo wings for pick up. Everything was absolutely legendary. The pesto sauce was perfect and had a chefs kiss cheese pull. The sweat heat BBQ had the perfect heat and my wife loved the pineapples. The buffalo wings were nice and crispy and were not tossed so no sauce mess anywhere. Plus our order was ready before pick up time. 10/10 would recommend to anyone that enjoys a quality pie 🤙🏽“

Cut pizza properly out the oven and served well. Order on the app for rewards and for sure easier pickup.“

“Probably my favorite pizza place.

I have been coming here since I was a kid, and I have never been disappointed.
One of the most unique things you can do with this pizza is order curry (or my favorite Chicken Masala) and use it as a dip or extra topping on their pizzas, you will not be disappointed.

Their Pizza is really good on its own too so if you want the classics don't be afraid to get them.“

“Good Food and great service. We had a group of 12 and service was great. Saturday afternoon is a great time to visit. Off the Main Street so not too crazy. Laid back service, but efficient. Waiters Always attentive with the Bread and Water.

Food Good. Calamari Appetizer was really good. Delivered hot and just right.Not over or under battered. They disappeared fast!! Would order those again. Had the Chicken Marsala with scalloped potato and veggies. Delivered hot and fairly quick.

And the waiter was on with the fresh cracked pepper. He must of known people appreciate those little special attentions.

A few had the Lasagne Dish and said it was delicious and Hot. My Wife had the Carbonara. Could have been a little creamier but still had a good flavor. No Alcohol this time, but I did notice their Mimosa offerings for Brunch. Maybe next time.

All in all… I’d go back for sure. Pretty laid back, relaxed atmosphere. Definitely not like the old Marin Joe’s which I do miss.“

“I went to San Anselmo with my wife and daughter last week during the Argentina (was rooting for Messi) match. The town looked fantastic once on my way back from Olema and so went back there to have lunch. We thought the place would be nice during the summer days and on 3rd July. But we were kind of disappointed at the beginning, as stayed longer after lunch while watching the game on TV (slightly grumpy bar guy was reluctant to turn the tv sound on, but later he demanded for a pretty please and volume was on - he must have had a long day - anyway he was nice afterwards). Then we saw people were showing up after 3pm and later (the town blocks the roads for live music and kids activities, food etc) - by the time the game was ending the restaurant was full of people with locals mostly. I loved their food and dessert too. Next time will try wine (it seems that is good stuff there). Overall a great experience…“
