“Been twice now. I have almost 2 decades experience in the bar industry. It's food was limited but pretty good, which is why I went back. The drinks are on the pricey side. Experienced 1 good bartender, a guy. Another decent bartender, female. 1 bartender I would just walk out if they were working, a female. Neither time was busy or anything really there to bring people in, n art class one night. NFL football another night, and the football game was on only 1 a small TV in the corner away from the bar. This bar has much more potential, but it's ok. There's a lot I would do different.“

“The food was delicious. Our server was wonderful(petit Israeli lady). The music was very loud. We couldn't hear people, but it's a very casual place and it was nice to get together with family and easy to get in and out.  The homemade bread is insanely good“

“Fabulous staff here with very affordable prices on food AND drinks! The new happy hour now starts at 2pm EVERY DAY till 8pm!!!! Love the upgrade draft beer options to a boom sh size for only $3 more!!!! Great new local neighborhood bar. Fantastic games room with something for everyone.“

“I was very skeptical first. I decided to give it a shot as a substitution for alcohol. And I gotta say, it blew my mind. Erica shared tons of information about Kava and the effects. After drinking the recommended drinks, she was NOT wrong! It’s delicious and highly recommend anyone to try it! Definitely see myself coming back!“

“Love, love, love! This place has the cutest vibe and great stuff! The charcuterie boards are so good! I’ve tried the cold brew as well very good! This time we decided to get rosé. They have a great wine selection and their staff are so sweet! Would definitely recommend!!!“
“My favorite spot for live music in Los Angeles. The monday gipsy jazz band hot club of LA is just awesome - super good quality music, good entertainment (the drummer is super funny and kind). These guys should be playing for a massive crowd, enjoy while the place is not packed every monday yet.“

“This was my first time here. The valet price wasn’t insanely expensive. Upon walking in, I literally felt like I was in an LA (proper) hotspot. It was busy, thus a bit loud; but it went with the vibe of the restaurant. (Good thing, not a negative one.) It looks like a great place for first dates, date night, girls night out… Maaaybe not for for families with little kids. I work with children and I adore them, however I suggest getting a sitter for the night so everyone can enjoy the ambience. The service was amazing, Mary was very knowledgeable about the menu and helpful with suggestions. Everyone at the table loved their dishes, there were zero complaints. Our friend’s daughter works there and was able to pop out to say hello and goodbye. I cannot wait to go back and try everything else on the menu.“

“Food was excellent and the ambiance sitting outside was great. We had the pork chop, puréed herb potatoes, appetizer sashimi and olives. Everything was top notch, food and service. Pork chop was very moist and the sauce they serve with it brought the pork chop over the top. Pure heaven. I wish they would change their policy regarding happy hour and allow happy hour if you sit outside. We have a dog and since he cannot go inside the restaurant then allow us to have happy hour outside with our best friend. Most restaurants make this exception. We would certainly frequent your establishment much more often as we love happy hour.“
“This was such a fun experience. Eating, drinking, and talking with strangers. The host was very informative and had great stories to share. The place has a mix of the prohibition era. You sense if the different rooms could talk, they would.
If you're all about trying new flavors and like to be surprised, then this is an adventure ride you will want to take. Beverages and snacks. Yes please!“

“I stopped here to watch the Dodgers World Series game 1. This is the local dive bar, the crowd was loud but the Dodgers had a walkoff home run so I was expecting some noise. Pool table was old school, only a quarter to play with a chalkboard of who’s next. I had a fun evening and the lady behind the bar bought me a beer, how often does that ever happen. A five star evening for me!“

I'll admit, I didn't expect to fall in love with El Potro Bar. At first glance, I thought it might not be my vibe, but boy was I wrong! This hidden gem has become my regular haunt, and for good reason.
The real stars of the show are bartenders Alejandra and Raquel. They're two of the kindest, most attentive, skilled and attractive bartenders I've encountered in ages. Their warm smiles, quick wit, and expertly crafted drinks make every visit a delight.
Sure, the atmosphere might be laid-back and slow-paced, but that's exactly what I've grown to appreciate. No pretentiousness, just genuine hospitality and a cozy ambiance that makes me feel right at home.
Alejandra and Raquel know their stuff, always willing to offer recommendations or whip up something special. Their passion shines through in every pour, and it's infectious.
Don't let the slow pace fool you - El Potro Bar has become my favorite spot to unwind, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy a perfectly chilled beer.
*Recommendations:* Come on Thursday and Ask Alejandra for a bucket of cold beers!

“We were in LA to attend a birthday party at the Peninsula Hotel and my economically shrewd wife found Maison 140 as a cool and inexpensive nearby hotel - which we were very happy with. However drinks in the downstairs Bar Noir was an incredible added bonus. Randy the Barman engaged us immediately and within 3 minutes we had our generously poured drinks and were chatting to other guests. It felt like we were regulars at “Cheers” (the old TV series Bar, where everyone knows your name). It was one of the best bar experiences we’ve had in years. Absolutely loved it. Thanks Randy ! “It's a small place, just simple and relaxed. Service was rapid and friendly. If you are a pool player, there is a table in the back where you will most likely find no shortage of players and challengers. I'll definitely be back soon.“
“Usually hotel food is alright, so we decided to play it safe and get a burger and it was actually really good. The patty was juicy, and everything was very flavorful. The fries were also really good, crispy, and well seasoned. Not sure about the rest of the menu, but I would definitely get the burger and fries here again.“

No food is offered but the drinks are well served and taste great!
Service is also pretty attentive, love the themed bar and bar seats!
Highly recommend the dirty martini and playing beer pong!

“We Always come here for a Fun Date Night with my Husband. We LOVE the Comedy Nights. They are Always so funny and the whole staff is great. The prices are perfect, the food is really good and the drinks are always made perfectly by the great bartenders. We will continue coming for Comedy Nights. You should all too. You always have celebrities in the mix.
