“Defrankos was our first stop on our 12 day vacation from Canada. We got off the flyaway and walked down a few blocks with all of our luggage in tow. The staff were incredibly friendly, they gave us such a warm welcome to California… but beyond that the food was AMAZING. It has a great menu mixed with Meat and Veggie options. “Some seriously delicious but fairly small sandwiches. They have many locations all around Los Angeles this being the most Westward of the bunch. It’s located in a small strip mall with a lot of parking. However, the parking lot spaces are very tight so if everyone is not parking well it may be hard to find some spaces. If the parking lot is full it’s easy to find free parking in the neighborhood behind the shopping center. It’s more of a to go type of place although they do have tables inside to eat. The attendant behind the counter was very polite and all of our items were made quickly for a last-minute Saturday night dinner.

As mentioned the sandwiches here are quite small so don’t think of it like a submarine sandwich location or somewhere with giant belly busting sandwiches. It’s closer to the size of Porto’s sandwiches. We decided to try a few of their sandwiches. We ordered The Bentley, The Medianoche, and the Carving Club. The best of the bunch was the Bentley because the meat was truly tender and seasoned well and the sauce with it made it extra creamy and just a wonderful bite. The Medianoche was also pretty good, although not the most authentic Cuban sandwich. I wish it would’ve had a stronger mustard flavor, but still I really enjoyed it. The Carving Club was probably my least favorite of the three just because of its small size. The flavors were good, but it didn’t have the traditional club flavors in my opinion. We also ordered the tomato soup and fries as our sides and I was a big fan of the tomato soup, however, the goat cheese in it was extremely small, but the fries were not my favorite because they were a little too crisp and hard. I tend to like mine soft and salty.

Overall a solid sandwich place that has some great to go options. I would recommend anyone in the area searching for a great sandwich.

“My family and I visited this location yesterday, Antonio took our order, his disposition, and he was very friendly and gave us suggestions. Hubby had a wrap, the elite it's new, I had the Italian herb and cheese foot long bread, and chose #8 garlic with olive oil, honey mastard and garlic oile my veggies, our lil one had kids meal, that was a good deal 6 inch sub, snack, cookie and juice. For the most part, it was tasty. However, too much SALT got from the grilled chicken, not to sure if the bread herb and cheese would have contributed and hubby said same thing SALT, thankfully the veggies helped and I am glad I didn't take the bacon. The large menu offers everything from breakfast to subs, hamburgers and sandwiches, to various plates, including Korean dishes like bulgogi (a marinaded beef dish). I highly recommend the pepper steak...a good portion of beef with lots of peppers, a bit of mayo, and cheese. The rolls are nicely toasted, adding to the overall flavor. The owner is very polite and nice, and prices here are inexpensive to moderate.

They may have only one or two servers there but they take the time for each and every order, I witnessed it while waiting and then dining in. Everything always tastes so fresh. They have deals of the day too and customizable toppings of course. They have front row parking too specifically for their restaurant. Common sandwich pricing. “Fantastic Bánh mì - pork and pâté Just $4.75. The baguette was perfect. Crusty outside soft in the middle. The vegetables on the sandwich were so fresh and crunchy. Mayo is included on the sandwich, but there was so little I hardly noticed. This sandwich did not need anything else. I’m going back to try the rest of them. 9-10 varieties Bánh mì. 10 inch roll. I ate half in the Am and half at lunch. Again, just $4.75!“

We won’t go back! Don’t know whether the management has changed or just doesn’t care about this place anymore. When attempting to phone in an order there’s no answer. They’ve either unplugged or just ignoring the ring for the past few weeks. The last time we were in several of the customers said the same thing. When we questioned the dark haired woman and so-called manager that was there they stated specifically “BY LAW WE DON’T HAVE TO TAKE ORDERS BY PHONE”. REALLY, what great customer service!
But the worst part of our last visit was that we observed them using the same rag to wipe down everything in back. No concern of where and what the rag was wiping. Additionally, they don’t remove they’re gloves to use the cash register!! They have plexiglass to guard against disease, but who’s guarding us against they’re filthy habits?“
