“Defrankos was our first stop on our 12 day vacation from Canada. We got off the flyaway and walked down a few blocks with all of our luggage in tow. The staff were incredibly friendly, they gave us such a warm welcome to California… but beyond that the food was AMAZING. We are currently sitting at the airport going over our trip and all 3 of us agreed the very best food we had on this trip were our 3 subs from Defrankos. ❤️

“I have been looking for quinoa all over LA. This place serves it and it is very good. The mix has just the right amount of dried sweet cranberries and a few chickpeas. It was perfect. I had a salad with tuna avocado and egg salad. I was able to sub the egg salad for tuna which was very nice of them. They gave me a fork full of a mayonnaise free tuna they had prepared on the way out which again was a great experience. It has a great menu mixed with Meat and Veggie options. “Overall great bang for buck. The bahn mi are huge and delicious. Bread is fresh and not too crunchy.

Downsides are the service is very unorganized. The ladies behind the counters are yelling and handing out special call in orders. Also, they have a secret menu thats not displayed anywhere. My order was forgotten and the order was wrong when I eventually got it. Also, the atmosphere isn't very welcoming. Its loud, hot, Dirty tables and floors. Its just a good fast food take out type place.

We go there for smash burgers mostly. I definitely haven't eaten every one, but of all the smash burgers I've had all over the city, Fat Sal's is to me the best. Lacey and crispy around the edge, American cheese as God intended on a smashburger, good bun and you can add lettuce and tomato if you want. Sometimes we'll get a loaded side of fries as well. The menu is full of delicious sounding, but a little over the top combinations of things piled up on a smashburger or a sandwich. I'd love to try them, but the regular smashburger is so delicious. They have a pastrami smashburger on the menu, but it has chicken tenders and a bunch of other stuff on it as well. I don't want all of that, I want a smashburger with griddled pastrami added to it, maybe some Swiss. The regular smashburger, maybe with an extra Patty added is the go-to for both of us.
The staff working there all knows and recognizes us. They're very friendly, and very customer service oriented. They always want to make sure we have everything we need and that we're taken care of, they'll swing by the counter where we're eating to see if we need any more ketchup, napkins, etc. It's really next-level service for this kind of a fast casual. Lots of TVs up high on the walls showing whatever sports is on, plus a Fat Sal's Venice Beach skater video running on a loop. Recommend if you like a delicious smashburger in a cool low-key environment with great service. And who doesn't?“

“The definition of a little hole in the wall, and I mean that in all the best ways. The food is delicious, affordable, fresh, and quick. It's a kind of a combination subs and a little bit of Korean, sometimes at the same time. Probably my favorite philly cheese steak in town. The bread is great. The teriyaki sub is delicious.

I hadn't been to a Quiznos and quite some time, it came up in conversation and I decided to hunt one down only to be surprised that there has been one in my neighborhood that I didn't even know was there. “I’ve been eating subs from My Hero since 1972! THE best subs I’ve eaten, ever. Moved through the years, and always went to My Hero’s when within 5 hours by car to where I was staying! The high quality of their food has never waivered! The buns are soft, yet chewy! The tomato salad in each sandwich is always fresh! Plus they give a generous portion of the protein! My favorite has always been pastrami! Lean and tasty, everytime! The staff is welcoming and genuinely happy you are there! I’ll be going in a week as I pass through the area! “I stopped by this Subway this morning to get my wife her chicken noodle soup. We were already in the plaza for my wife appointment at the clinic. So when she went to her appointment, I came to this Subway to get her soup. I came in the morning so they were not busy at all. When I walked inside, I didn't see any worker so I looked at their menu. Once I started looking, a lady came from the back and greeted me. I asked her if they have any soup and she told me that they had chicken noodle soup or broccoli soup. My wife likes both but she prefer chicken noodle so I just asked for 2 orders of it. The lady asked me if I wanted cracker as well and I confirm that it came with the soup which she said it does so there no extra cost. My wife ate her soup at home and liked it.

Vegetarian options: You can customize your sandwich or salad here so I highly recommend this place for vegetarian.
