“The sushi fish was fresh, and the sushi rice was delicious! As someone who frequents sushi bars in LA for some nigiri and hot tea, Chiba has the best ambiance and best tasting nigiri sushi.

My favorite was the mackerel, yellowtail, and unagi.

I've also ordered donburi here, and it comes very close to the donburi I had in Japan.

Been coming to Chiba for years now. Hands down it's my favorite sushi spot for nigiri in LA.

We love the steamed chicken gyoza, the cut sushi rolls, and the sashimi bowls. The chicken katsu Don is AMAZING, as is the zaru soba and the curry katsu rice bowl.

Much easier to get in for lunch, though we usually go for dinner. It’s a small space and you put your name on a list for a table upon arrival, so show up with your whole party to be seated. Street parking is usually easier than trying to valet.“

“First time going to this place. I went with my cousin and niece. We went around 5:30pm on a Saturday and it wasn't busy at all. We were sat immediately. Since my niece was with us she shared with her Mom and I ordered my own. They got the Joon Beef and I got the Angus. Both were really good. For those first timers doing Hot Pot they do explain how to do things. The staff is very friendly and helpful so dont feel bad about asking for anything. The prices are pretty good for what you're getting. Good food and wonderful atmosphere. I will be going here again some time in the near future.“

“I truly like Yaki’s and the way the food is prepared. If you’re under 21, you probably won’t notice much difference, and to be fair, the flavors are good. I’m writing this simply as constructive feedback — it’s completely up to you whether you want to act on it or not.

I still enjoy Yaki’s, but I only eat here a couple of times a year now because I personally have a harder time digesting some of the current ingredients.

The reality is that people in this area are willing to pay more for higher-quality beef and cleaner ingredients, especially in La Crescenta. The neighborhood has changed a lot — it’s no longer the same immigrant community it was in the 1990s with lower-cost housing. Today, it’s become a much more affluent area with higher expectations around food quality.

It’s also worth noting that La Crescenta locals have not traditionally supported fast-food style chains. Businesses like McDonald’s, Burger King, Pizza Hut, and Papa John’s didn’t last here for a reason. Residents generally avoid fast-food quality and prefer better ingredients.

I genuinely believe Yaki’s could be even more successful and stand out for another decade and beyond by upgrading just a couple of things — better quality beef for the bowls and higher-quality (possibly organic) hot dogs for Bulldog. With that small change, this place could be next level for the area

We waited 25 minutes for a seat at the large U Shaped counter that seats about 30 people - see photo. The hostess did an amazing job of cleaning and resetting the seats while the staff behind the counter crafted hand rolls and served beverages. Loved the simple and easy to order menu and you will not be disappointed with any of the hand roll set menus! Add a Japanese beer or some Sake and you will be in a state of culinary bliss.“

I had to park after dropping off my companion so I don't know how bad the wait was for our table but there were lots of people waiting. Once I sat down to the menu, I noticed that prices rose in the last year. The staff were attentive and helpful.
