“I usually don't like to leave reviews on Google unless it's really bad or really good. Well, I'm glad I found this place! The food there is fresh and authentic. The price is very reasonable with a good portion size, especially the combos which are great value. I also tried some of their soups. They are absolutely yummy and soothing. Their service is really good too. I'm very specific about food. I asked a lot of questions on my first visit, but they were very patient and helpful. This place is now my go-to Chinese food spot. Would highly recommend it!“

“The portions you receive from Louie's is absolutely amazing and the quality of their food has been amazing everytime I've bought food from them. My favorite combo is the two main entrees and all chow mein for the entrees I get the spicy orange chicken and the black pepper chicken and they're so tasty everytime. If you have tried this spot it's definitely worth it and the cost is quite low for the quality and quantity of food you receive.“

“Definitely coming back. It's hard to find a spot that makes good sizzling rice soup. This place had a really good broth and the soup was nice and hot (not spicy). Some place will serve you a warm to lukewarm soup, or have a bland broth. This was good. The salt & pepper shrimp was amazing. The chow fun was really good. There are actual flavor in their chow fun noodles. We also ordered one more thing that tasted like orange chicken but the flavor was way better. Also, the sweetness of the chicken was not overwhelming or too sweet at all. It was perfect.

After we received our sizzling rice soup, we didn't get the rest of our order until much later. We can tell that they forgot our order. It was understandable since they received 7 huge to-go orders in between our order. I really wanted to give the place five stars for service but that it usually a deal breaker if the food was terrible. Luckily the flavor and aroma saved the meal experience.

Place is definitely old but I like the hole in the wall look. Not the cleanest looking spot but definitely doesn't bother me. I look forward to coming back and trying other menu items.“

“just ordered food from China Gourmet in Signal Hill, Ca.. upon entering the restaurant a young man greeted me with a hello. He was pleasent and welcoming. He took my order of mushroom chicken, mixed vegetables and rice with a two order combo. I had BBQ pork, half and half and jalapeño chicken, with two drinks. Returned home and started to dive in! WOW IT WAS AMAZING! The pork was cooked just right, the chicken was extremely delicious and chow mein was actual chow mein and not Top Ramen noodles substitute. my friend who ordered the mushroom chicken and vegetables couldn't stop eating. I've been to numerous fast Chinese food places and none of them have been as good as this place with the quality of food and the amount given. the price was moderate in today's society of price gouging it was $27 and well worth it. if you enjoy Chinese food and really want to get a bang for your buck as well as and enjoyment of flavors in your mouth go to China Gourmet!“

“Family friendly, fast service and amazing food. We ordered the beef chow fun, lotus root and spicy fish.

Everything was authentic choosing reminded me of Hong Kong, fish was on par with china and the lotus root was reminiscent to my childhood.“

The food is absolutely packed with flavor — I tried the delicious orange chicken, the unique and spicy teriyaki chicken, and the tasty kung pao chicken. “I didn't actually dine this time. I went to reserve space for the weekend for my ladies social club. We HAVE eaten here many times. It's one of our favorite spots! The food is plentiful, the service is good and the staff is very accommodating. For the amount of food they provide, the prices are EXCELLENT! “My husband and I were driving around downtown Long Beach and decided to stop in. We had a slight mishap, I will not leave along, but will focus more on the solution. Our waiter, whose name I don’t know unfortunately, went to the GM, Marti, without us requesting one, and she came over and quickly rectified the situation. What stood out to me most was that she said we were in her house and she wants us to be happy and comfortable when we visit. She also checked on us in addition to our waiter throughout the night. She changed our experience and because of her, we will be back.“

Bbq pork was tender and delicious, grab some hot mustard. The orange chicken is something we don't usually order but was great here, still crunchy. Egg foo young was made fresh to order and surprisingly wonderful, airy and the best use of water chestnuts I've seen. The lady even chopped it up for us with a huge cleaver so it was easier to eat. The fried rice has chunks of bbq pork and egg and the chow mein had chicken and egg. They have both Sriracha and chili oil. It was enough food for two plus leftovers

It's been open for forty years and is inside a cute, kitchy building. Parking lot is tiny and one way, enter from KFC around the corner“

I told her that I kinda saw that coming from the chicken bc of the big menu that they have so that is the only negative but I will definitely mess with this place again! “Great food great service the man who made my food who I assume was the owner was so nice I've been looking for my favorite dish which is Singapore Mei Fun and I've called every Chinese restaurant in Carson and everyone tells me they don’t make it or they have some fat noodle that they call rice noodles, but this man knew exactly what I wanted and made the best dish that I’ve ever had in my life. “Great place to stop in for good food. The ladies behind the counter are super nice and friendly. I always get orange chicken and theirs did not disappoint. I’m not a big chow mein fan, but I ate all of it with my 1 item combo. Almost all of the other customers ordered the wings, they looked delicious, but was more that I could eat.“

“One of my favorites places when we don’t know what to eat. First time we ate here was probably because another restaurant had a long wait and we randomly tried it out.

Parking can be difficult in this old plaza depending on the hours. Seating usually doesn’t take too long.

One of the best things about this places is the noodles. House made, can be adjusted to your liking. They’re perfectly chewy and have a nice texture to them.

When I first visited, one of my favorites places dishes here was the kung pao chicken. It used to be very unique, fried super crispy before mixed with the carrot, peanuts, peppers, and other bits. On our recent trip, it’s seems like they completely changed the recipe, it’s on the sweet side, no carrots or other veggies and peanuts were just added on top. I lost one of my favorite dish here, would never order the current kung pao chicken again.

Not pictured or ordered since it was a hot day, but one of my favorites is their beef noodle sou. It’s a great comfort dish with excellent flavor and good portions of meat and veggies

All of their dry noodles or cold noodles are delicious as well.

One of their house specialty entrees I really enjoyed and will order again is the spicy spare ribs. Super crispy, good spices. Might be a bit on the oily side, but it’s delicious.

XLB are good, not the best but perfectly fine. Juicy and good flavor.

Cold cuts are good as an appetizer, you can choose however many you want and portions are good.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. I would say they get swamped a bit during busy hours as they handle tables and also take out orders.“

I have been to many Northern Cafes and have been looking forward to this one. I noticed most of the reviews were about dumplings and realized this one is more specialized for dumplings (boiled, pan-fried and steamed XLB varieties.

I was hoping for the noodle specialties like the one in Gardena (which is my favorite in the region, 10 min more drive for me).

We ordered:
- crab dumplings- steamed, XLB style, it was pretty good
- lamb dumplings- pan fried, it was ok, a little oily
- beef noodle soup- it was ok, they only served with thin noodles, we preferred other handmade varieties at the Gardena store

We also ordered the beef rolls to go, it looked exact like the ones shown on the poster, ha ha.

Overall, pretty good if you are hungry dumplings!“

“I normally would get egg Fu young for my mom. Lately they're over cooking and it's hard dry and barely any sauce is put on the fu young. They're rude whenever you call in to complain. To me they're dropping off on the quality of their food cooking since it's more Hispanic cooking your ordered. I'm going back to 103 rd where the food is much better. Instead of telling me to come back and correct my order they were so rude. I'll miss the meat egg rolls but food wise nope! They're about the same. Nothing changes except the quality in the food.
