“Our first time dining at this place though we have wanted to go for a while after someone posted about it after they opened. Finally made it and glad we made reservations as it was packed since it was peak time Friday evening. Spoke with Koji-san, the owner, while we were waiting for our table and he also stopped by each table to check on them which we thought was great. We had the takoyaki, kaisen-mix okonomiyaki and the spicy miso ramen. All came within a reasonable amount of time and were delicious! Koji-san explained the background of offering takoyaki, which was so interesting and great for him to share. We will definitely be back to try the other menu items, esp their sushi, which looked delicious! Great to see a business busy and doing well!“

“I came here with a small group of adults, and we had a wonderful experience. We mostly ordered rolls (several from the interesting specials menu). They were all delicious. Someone ordered Hijiki and I found it to be very tasty. The staff were above-and-beyond nice to us. The atmosphere was warm and lively. Based on this one visit, I'd highly recommend.“

“Food was alright, I’ve had better suishi in boulder tbh. Just go next door if you want suishi. I think this is more of a place you go if you want more of a spread of Japanese food.

“I went on a Monday so Avanti wasn’t nuts like it is on weekends but the food was fantastic! I got the mushroom bowl and my sister got the seared tuna bowl. They were both delicious and beautiful. The service was great but in this type of atmosphere, “service” is really just taking your order and texting when it’s ready. It was pretty fast though.“

“I was solo, so I didn't want to go to a full-service restaurant surrounded by parties of 2+, because I feel conspicuous. I also don't like the usual Restaurant Theater experience ("Hi, my name is... I'll be taking care of you today...would you like to start with..."). \n\nFuji was perfect for me. You order at the counter and find a seat. I went at 4 pm, and there was no one else eating in, just people getting take-out. I found a table, they brought my order (eel) it seemed like 2 minutes later. Their attitude was pleasantly welcoming. Not over-the-top friendly, which I've just learned is being termed "forced joy" at some companies -- and lo and behold, customers can tell it's forced and they don't like it!“
